Why, yes we are, lol. How funny with the similar lives! Except we don't homeschool... our four school kiddos go to a charter school that is close enough that I can hear the kids out on the playground at recess! :) But we did homeschool one year and except for being very disorganized it turned out okay but we decided to give a try to a brand new charter school and it's been mostly good.
I think I'm just hovering as for weight... I keep having a lot of bad days lately. Yesterday I ate too much but most of it was healthy foods at least. But.. about 400cal was junk *sigh*. I find that looking at new clothing is a good motivator as well as success stories so I'm going to do some browsing tonight!
Right now I'm going to be a dork and play some guitar hero (with my GH expert hubby, lol). I shall return sometime again soon :)

I will post my months results tomorrow...when I have more time :)
Hope you all are having a great weekend!
Hi. My name is Michelle and I'm 32. I'm pretty new to calorie count but have been on this 'diet' for nearly a month. I am getting a bit discouraged with the scale standstill, so I needed some encouragement to keep going. I came across challenges and then this particular thread. I think, if it's not too late to join, that this could be just what I need. A little friendly challenge always does one good. And yours has some neat things. Stay-at-home mom is what I've been for the last 7 years. I have a 7yr old boy, and two girls 4 and 2. My weight has gone out of control since having my firstborn....and only gotten worse. I am finally sick of it. I started my plan at 229.6 and am down to 218 since the 6th of Jan. Yea, 11 pounds is shed.....but it's been the same for 2 weeks now. Drag. I have no problems getting to the gym. As being a stay at home mom, I REALLY love that they have childcare! So I bring my mp3, throw the kids in the playroom, and have a break! Yes, it's working out, but it is 60-90 minutes free of temper tantrums, hair pulling and "She started it!" Anyway, my goal weight is technically 150. I looked great at that weight, back when I was 16! Ideally I can't wait to be under 200 lbs! Then 180's, that will be great!

Welcome Michelle (findingmeagain2009)!!
I can relate to your struggle. I don't really remember when I have been at a "good" weight as an adult. But, the good thing is if I do get down to the 150's I will feel soooooo skinny!!
I was thinking that we have so many kids behind this group....so many little people relying on us to be a good example and help them in life. We really can accomplish this goal of ours, and be healthy, happy mom's with kid's that will hopefully never know what it is like to struggle with weight. My mom was into a low-fat kick as I was growing up (It was the fad then) I thought eating anything "low-fat" was great.....including twinkies, ice cream, chips....if it said low-fat...I was in! And I avoided any kind of fat, thinking it was all bad. I am so glad to have learned so much since then. I am so glad to have this site :)
Hi Everyone! I was wondering if I could join the thread. I'm a SAHM of 2 dd's. A three yr old and 18mth old. I've always been kinda chubby, but after I had my 1st one I never really lost the baby weight before I was pregnant again. I used cc for awhile, but with the holidays I slacked off. (Its shows too, I gained back about 10lbs) Now I'm back on the wagon and could use all the motivation I can get! --Kari

Welcome newcomers :) Yes, it's an open challenge for the entire year and anyone can join or leave at any time! Although I hope you'll stay on until New Year's Eve! I'm working on the kinks of posting weights and updates.
I need to kick it up a notch if I'm going to have any difference by Thursday's weigh-in!!

Godsmissiongal -- I have PCOS too. Took over 1 year TTC our first. Doctors recommended that I lose 10% of my body weight in order to increase our chances. Talk about a great motivation. Are you on the PCOS diet?
We had houseguests this weekend, so my healthy eating and getting enough exercise went out the window. Luckily, my little guy is so tired from it all that he has taken two long naps already today.
Godmissiongal & mamaher--- I have PCOS also. I agrre with mamaher. PCOS diet has done wonders for me. I was on it right before I had my son. God off the bandwagon a bit when I had him b/c I ate whenever I could. It was too crazy for me. Now I'm starting it again and hoping the lbs will melt off like they did the first time. Crazy part is, you eat soooo much food. Good luck to all.
BTW, when is the next weigh-in? Is there a set day?
Nevermind. I see it's Feb 5.
I have a question about PCOS...I have looked it up on the internet, but I don't have all the symptoms, just some. My biggest complaint right now is I havn't had a period in 4 months now....UGH! My husband is fixed, so I am not preggo (plus I have taken a test a while back) Does this sound like it could be what I have? My periods have always been 6-10ish weeks apart anyhow, so I have NEVER been regular. How do you get diagnosed?
Your gyno can diagnose you. You may or may not have this problem. The true way to find out is to have a blood test done. It will check your insulin levels, as well as your hormone levels. So many people are diagnosed with this, who do really have it b/c doc never did the blood tests.. If you think this is it, then I suggest you have yourself checked out.
I don't have all the symptoms either. My gyno did all of tests that ginanne17 stated as well as an ultrasound to see the cysts. It is a good idea to check it out as there are treatments available.
As I am not TTC right now, I didn't think about going back on the PCOS diet, but it is a great idea.

Weigh in!!!
I have done well, and I am excited that it is working :)
My weight is 181....I am soooo looking forward to being in the 170's now!
I have been eating around 1400-1700 (2300 calories on a really high day) calories a day and walking on my treadmill for 35 minutes (a little over 2 miles) almost every day.
C'mon momma's......it is weigh in day!
Hurray! I only joined this group last weekend, so coming in late. But I have finally broken the cycle! I have stared at 218 on my scale for a couple of weeks. And today I finally get to see a difference! today is 215! Yea! I lost 3 lbs. That is enough encouragement to try real hard this week!
I eat about 1600 calories a day, give or take. And I am usually at the gym 5 days a week for 1 1/2 hrs doing 45 minutes of treadmill on a random cycle of inclines from 5.5-11--ends up also being about 3 miles (I fast-walk. I have never been a runner but I have found you can burn alot of cals quickly if you go 2.9/3.0mph but put the incline up to a 6 or even better 8) I usually burn 350-450 on the tread. Depends on how fierce I feel that day for what level I put it on! And I am finally up to lasting a while on the elliptical. But I typically do 16 minutes as that burns 200 (20 minutes for 250 if you can make it) Coming from not being able to last 2 minutes on my very first gym day on Jan 6th! Not bad.
Hurray for you Team Malone! I can't wait to see my 180's! Haven't seen those since my 2006 (and that was only for a month---then I stopped breastfeeding and it all came back.) Ugh!
Findingmeagain....
That happened to me too....I was doing ok without having to eally watch what I ate when I nursed, but then I stopped and the weight seemed to pile on...Made me want to pump milk the rest of my life...lol!
Congratulations on your success too! Just keep doing what you are doing...it is working! By the end of this year, we will both be hot mommas!! (ALL OF US WILL!!)

I guess a pound is a pound. Eventhough I am nursing, the weight is not really coming off, yet.
