Hi, Everyone! I would like to join this challenge. I am a SAHM of 6 kids. My youngest is 4 & my oldest is 20 and getting married this summer. Last year I lost 20 lbs going from 197 to 177. Then I got asthma and couldn't exercise until now, it's finally under control. I am now 200 lbs, my heaviest ever and I want to lose 30 lbs before the wedding in June. I hope to make new friends and learn some weight loss tricks.
mamaher-
Oh trust me, seeing one pound is great. I was stuck at the same weight for a couple of weeks. Now that stinks....very easy to get discouraged. I have breastfed 2 kids....and that really will pay off! :)
Well, I've lost nothing this time due to too much eating :) Here's hoping for next 2 weeks!!! 233 lbs is my weight still...
I'll tally everything and have it posted sometime tomorrow evening so everyone has a chance to weigh in! Good luck everyone!
~ Steph
Down 2 lbs since Monday. It's a beautiful thing.

Hi - I am back from my vacation!!! What a great time I had. The sun was awesome. Tuesday it reached 88 and golfing was so fun. There is something to be said to the benefits of vitamin D through sun. I feel so regenerated. For those of us who live in the Northern hemisphere where the sun shines so little it makes a difference on your mental well being.
As far as weight I weighed today and was up 5 pounds. I am not worried as when I fly I retain water and I can feel it plus my folks took us out to dinner Tuesday night for mexican and I am one of those who has to limit salt and the food was very salty. With that said I know these 5 pounds will be peed out of me in no time. I golfed 5 times and got much excersing walking. I took my pedometer and the first day put in 15000 steps. I ate well and had only 3 desserts the whole time, one was strawberries and angel cake.
I am back to reality and the nip of the cold on my nose and crunch of snow on my shoes was less then enjoying I must say. 6 more weeks of winter......wohee!!!
Hope all are doing well. Enjoy those kids as the time flies by so quickly. I know it must sound inviting to be an empty nester but I miss my boys terribly. Traveling I am realizing will be uplifting for me and help ease the pain of my boys being grown and on their own. Have a great week! I am off to walk the dogs in the cold and then on the treadmill to get in my cardio. Diane
P.S. weight is an ugly 210, but I bet in two days it will be back to 205 or less![]()
200.6 This Morning - I am getting so close to onderland just can't seem to get over the hump. I have actually seen 200.0 a couple of times.
Frustrating, isn't it?
Do you have a special treat planned when you get there?
I was thinking about rewarding myself with new exercise videos.
I am down one pound although I'm not sure if that is because I weighed myself later in the day last time and this time I did it first thing in the morning. I cannot control my eating. I love food-especially sweet stuff! One of these days I hope to get back to my strict eating habits. It doesn't help when it is 5 degrees out! Can't wait for the warm weather to come back.

I'd like to join you, ladies! I am 46, wife of almost 24 years to a fabulous husband and mother of 3 beautiful girls: 21 (just married), 18, and 16. I retired from working as a nurse when my first child was born and was a very happy stay at home mom until about 4 years ago when I became certified as a personal chef and started my own business to help out with kid's college expenses. I've now cut my business back to only working a day or two each week out of my home, and I've never stopped considering myself to be a stay at home mom. Unfortunately, I've been a yo-yo'er...gaining & losing the same 40-50 pounds many times over the years. I'm trying to believe this will be the last time down this road. My current weight is 190, and I just joined this sight a few days ago. My goal is 145. I had knee surgery last Friday, so exercise right now is out of the question, but I should be able to add that in a few weeks. For now, I've got to concentrate on getting the eating under control. I know the right things to eat and I do like foods that are good for me, but I'm lousy on portion control. So far, so good this week, though. I'm looking forward to talking to all of you!

Yeah it is totally Frustrating I have been between 200-201.6 for the past week or so and I can't seem to break into the 190's. I am either getting a new pair of glasses or a few new books(or used ones from the library book shop...LOL)
Thanks to Stephanie76 for all the hard work!
I am so proud of all the momma's for their support, honesty, and just for being in this group. I have a feeling that as time passes, we will all be closer to eachother and our goals.
Hi everyone. I'm posting late, sorry. My daughter got the croup and the doctor put her on a prednzone and it made us all crazy. I actually stopped it sooner then was percribed the poor thing couldn't sleep and was a nasty little bear. Now I've got the cold part of it and I don't blame her for being nasty.
Anyway this week is 125.2. That is still a little over my high but at this point I don't care. I'll start behaving a little better when I start feeling better (I know poor excuse) I'll work harder this week.
This is truly a life changing decision to lose and to keep off weight, I made it many time before I really ment it. I've been doing this for almost a year and it still is a struggle that I have to deal with all the time. But I will say it is worth it. I can keep up with my daughter and I'm no longer the fat friend. My health was not a problem but I didn't want it to become one either.
Great job to those who are still here and sticking with it. If you stay with it you will reach your goals. Thank you all for being here to help me maintain mine.
Hi Ladies! I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm still in this, but my computer was out for almost 2 weeks so I'm trying to catch up. I weighed in and was up half a pound. Since I didn't have a computer I guess I thought calories didn't count--so I haven't been eating very well. I'm getting back on track though, and have kept up with exercising pretty well.

Hey you all! i weighed today and it said 199.6, I am finally in onederland. Thanks to a migraine I haven't been able to eat much the past couple days. Just wanted to share that.
Way to go, godsmissiongal! Goes to show that there can be a bright side to anything...even a migraine! Congrats on getting another step closer to your goal.
Thanks
I would love to join in!!!!! I am a 32 mother of 3 two boys 13,11 and a 1 year old baby girl.I am 5' 4" and last time I weighed myself I was 168.4 I would like to be 150 and then see if I need to lose anymore.I'm glad tp find this challenge!
start weight 176.5 current weight (as of 2/6/09) 177 (+.5 because I didn't stick with my plan while my computer was out)
ok im still at 156! i still feel "thinner" but its just not showing on the scale. Ok now me and dh went out saturday nite for our valentines day seeing how this saturday everywhere will be a madhouse! I had a few beers, and i weighed myself sunday morning. Does that sodium/water weight effect my weight that much?
Welcome to the new mommies!
I wanted to start posting a goal each week that we can each support eachother on. (and help get to know eachother) Does anyone want to do that? Like "MONDAY GOAL DAY"
My goal this week is to not drink any beer...and excersize 35 minutes every day :) When my husband is away working, it is easy to not have beer...but when he is home, he wants me to have a few with him...and it seems to really have a bad effect on me. Like, I lose self control (after 4 beers) and then I want to eat a bunch and the next day I still want to keep eating. Sooooo...that is my goal. Luckily I found that the Miller64 is pretty easy on the calories, and beer is beer to me...so that is the only thing I will drink now.
BTW, nbgirl19....YES, water and sodium can make your weight change several pounds....you are likely in for a big loss next weigh in. One thing I like to do is keep tract of how many calories I "save" each day...then add them up at the end of the week...and then I know for sure what I really lose. It seems to be right on.
Hope everyone is having a good week so far :)
Is jump roping as good an exercise as running?
In terms of calorie burning, moderate jumping is about equal to running a 10-minute mile, although calorie burning is always a function of time... Read more
