Hi all - I am visiting the group for the first time in a long time.  I see we have a lot of new members and 100 MEMBERS total!!!  Wow, that's a lot of support - we should be taking advantage of it.

One thing I noticed is that the newer posts are all over the place - and some contain questions for the group, but since they are burried in "introduce yourself" or some such, I don't think everyone is seeing them.

I decided to start this forum so that we can post - my idea was to just continue adding to this topic, but certainly if you want to call out a specific "chat" topic in this forum, that would work too.  That way, everyone just has 1 place to check for new posts.  Also, you can check the "receive reply", and you should get an email that there is a new post on the topic.

So, how are you all doing?  Me - not so good.  I have a million excuses, but none of them are any good.  I am hoping that I can reverse the upward trend that I have been on for about 5 months.

I injured my knees doing Jillian Michael's 30-day Shred in May, and it took me over a month to recuperate.  In the meantime, I started a kitchen renovation, so we were living on burgers, take out, and frozen foods, etc.  I've been wanting to get back to my good habits, but I just can't seem to get motivated.

I think part of the problem is that I know how much work it's going to be to take off this weight, and I'm exhausted just thinking about it.  Last time it took me 19 months - exercising 5-6x a week and eating ~1500 a day, and I only had 2 kids then.  I had such a poor response earlier this year when I applied myself to good diet and exercise, that I'm discouraged before I even start.  I even had my doctor run a thyroid test on me to see if maybe I was experiencing a metabolic issue.  (I'm still convinced that I am, but it doesn't show per usual medical threasholds).

Anyway, I'd love to check in with you all and see how everyone else is doing and if I can lend any support.

Hi, well, this went over like a lead balloon!  I hope I can stir up some activity - I feel like we have a lot of members, but not much sharing going on.  Of course, by nature of our commonality (working moms), I know we are all super busy.

For me, I did well for getting food logged until Wednesday morning, then got so busy that I didn't catch up until Thursday after dinner.  That's dangerous for me because I run the risk of forgetting something I ate.

We made sugar cookies (family recipe) and frosted and decorated them - it's a Halloween tradition in my house.  I admit I ate one on Thursday and 1 on Friday - not good, but I just don't have the willpower I used to have.

I did manage to work out every day this week.  I had planned on working out today too, but got up a little late, and then had to rush around to get DD2 to soccer, then she refused to go.  I figure I'll make up some of the exercise when I walk for 2+ hours tonight TOTing.

I have been off and on with CC but I'm back and I survived Halloween.

The bad news: I've gotten lazy about logging my calories which I personally have to do to lose any weight. The good news: With plenty of ups and downs, I'm at the same weight today Iwas in January (well... I think that's good news).  I am still 6-10 pounds from where I want to be right now.

My biggest challenge right now is this: My son just started preK and we keep getting sick! My friends tell me this is normal (since my son stayed with family while I worked and did not attend day care). It's hard being sick and staying on a diet or working out.

Now that the Halloween candy is gone and the holiday party season is fast approaching, I am recommitting!!
