Three months til 2010 - join me in setting a goal!

Quote  |  Reply

Well, next week is just three months until a new decade.  I don't want to be fat, do you?  Let's start 2010 on the thinner side of life.

I want to set a reasonable goal of 2 pounds a week.  October 1st to December 31 is 13 weeks.  Join me in making a goal of losing 26 pounds by New Years Eve!

My start weight was 213 in May 2009 and LW was 182.  I am at a standstill.  I just can't get motivated.   I have stayed the same for over a month.

My goal is 150.  But, 156 by 2010 works for me!  How about you?

Won't you set a goal and join me in reaching our dreams?

Thank you very much for the support. I have a 15 month old son Archer (my profile pic) that I would love to beable to run around with. I finally got serious about my weight loss when I went to the doctor and the scale read 214. I am only 5' 3" so that is alot of weight for my height.  I have always been heavy but never this heavy except when I was prego. On the day that I delivered my son I only weighed two pounds heavier than this. I look forward to feeling better about myself and my apperance.

Thank you

Great idea...count me in!  I started my weight loss journey on 09/08/2009 at 177 lbs.  I am now down to 173...woo-hoo!  I am 5'0'' and my goal is 115lbs.  I look forward to charting my progress with you all and this will help me stay motivated through the holidays!  Good luck to all!

Thanks,

Lane

It will be great to have each other support.  October, November and December can be dangerous months.  Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas, yiks!  But, those are just three days.  We will tackle each holiday together.

Ok, I like this goal it seems reasonable to me.

I am new to this as well, and have only recently started using it. I really am not sure what I weigh as every place tells me something differant. My doc's office 3 weeks ago said 197, my home scale says 188, the gym said 194 and the movie theater scale said 186. Of course I like that one the most. I guess I will go with the home scale since that is the one I see the most. I will start my weigh ins on Thursday.  Thanks for the support I look forward to seeing the helpful tips and encouraging weight loss of others. Laurie

I'm just a diet baby so 2 per week is a bit of a stretch, but I'd love to get to 235. :) Currently I'm about 245.

I weighed myself sometime in the last week. I was at 200. A few weeks ago I was down by 4 pounds but gained it right back. I'm going to do better now. Having accountability will help.

I usually try to weigh on Sunday morning. I'm able to do it at the same time of day each time but not in a hurry to get to work like during the week. School is starting Monday and if I can keep myself busy and take healthy stuff with me I should behave during the day. But evenings are what get me though. I'll try to keep the evening meal big enough to not want a snack before a, hopefully, early bedtime. On the weekends I'll treat myself to some popcorn or fruit in the evening.

Doing cross stitch or knitting helps...not enough hands to do both. Wink

Now to figure how and where to exercise. Hmm.

imemile-  cross stitch or knitting....that's good.  About working out.  I joined the fitness center at my local community college.  I is only a few dollars for the entire semester.  I also walk.  I know that it doesn't sound as fun or productive, but from all that I have been reading....walking 45 minutes 4-5 days a week works.  If you walk two miles a day, that is burning off 240 calories and toning your body.  Plus, it increases your endorphins and just makes you feel great.

New to this community (because I just got down to needing to lose LESS than 100 lbs!)

and I would love to join you!!

Due to all the upcoming holidays ( and my total lack of willpower), I am going to make my goal to lose 1.3 lbs per week, 18 lbs by January 1.

My starting weight was 280 lbs (as of August 20 something), I'm a pinch under 6', and minus 20 would put me at 240 lbs, with a BMI of just about 34. I want to be down to 163 by February of 2011.

Thanks for posting this... maybe for once in my life I will actually meet a long-term goal!

I think setting small goals on the way to long term goals is the way to go.  It allows you to have lots of successes along the way.  I have lost half the weight that I want to lose.  The greatest part about losing weight is that you feel better about yourself almost every step of the way.  I am down 30 lbs and feel wonderful.  But, I am ready to lose the rest.  I thank all of you for joining me in this challenge.  I know it is what I needed, I hope it does the same for you.

I'm in! I have been on CC for about three Weeks now and lost about 6lbs.  Befor that lost about 6 lbs as well, so when I started out I weight about 212-213 and I am only 5"2. I had a baby last Year and now its time to lose all that weight again. I am so sick and tired of passing all the cute close in the store, and of being the big housewife/soccer mom lol .

I have about 54 pounds to go.

SW:206 lbs

CW: 200 lbs

WbNY: 172 lbs

GW: 145-150 lbs for now recommanded 125 lbs

I posted late last night, but don't see it on here so I'm reposting.

I am currently 225 and would love to lose 26lbs by the new year! So, I will join you on this little goal. To think I could be 200 by Christmas is awesome!

We can do this!!!

Jamie

I'm in too! I just joined CC yesterday.  One year ago, I was 240. Three weeks ago as 198.5 Now I'm 193.  My goal is 130, the weight I maintained most of my life. 26 pounds would put me at 167. Great way to ring in the new year. I'll post my weight on Oct.1st and user that as the start point.  Thanks!

Calorie counter recommended me to be at 158 and I don't think I want to be that small. I currently wear between 18-22 and my goal is to get to a size 13/14.

The holidays are going to be a challenge, but we can do it.

Holidays will be the challenge.  Somehow those three days turn in to many more than three tempations.  The Halloween candy seems to linger, all the Thanksgiving leftover and the 12 days of Christmas yummies!  But, we can do it.  We can taste, we can enjoy, we just need to COUNT every bite!

I'll join!  Not only are these months holiday packed, but I'll have midterms and finals to take and grad school to apply for.  With all the stress I'll really need the support.  I'm around 173 currently, so I'll be back the 30th or 1st for an official weight in.

Good luck everybody!

I'm in...my goal is 20 pounds, I have lost 10 lbs in the last three weeks.  I joined a weightloss challenege in my neighborhood - the host sells herbalife, but is teaching us about nutrition, metabolism, and a healthy lifestyle.  no pressure to buy products.  i've already learned a lot and will continue for several more weeks.  I'll be back to post my starting weight.

I'm 5'4" and am currently 188 lbs.  I would love to try for the 26, but need some wiggle room.

Good Luck to all of us...it's hard work.
