Three months til 2010 - join me in setting a goal!

Quote  |  Reply

Well, next week is just three months until a new decade.  I don't want to be fat, do you?  Let's start 2010 on the thinner side of life.

I want to set a reasonable goal of 2 pounds a week.  October 1st to December 31 is 13 weeks.  Join me in making a goal of losing 26 pounds by New Years Eve!

My start weight was 213 in May 2009 and LW was 182.  I am at a standstill.  I just can't get motivated.   I have stayed the same for over a month.

My goal is 150.  But, 156 by 2010 works for me!  How about you?

Won't you set a goal and join me in reaching our dreams?

Flight330- I started at 213 In May 2009 and dropped an average of 2 lbs a week.  I agree with lwareki that you should shoot for a lessor number by Jan 1.  Two pounds a week is a great goal.

However, I didn't do at all well losing any weight in October.  So, I will join you in losing the full 26 pounds at 2 pounds a week.  What do you say?

Hi, I'm new to calorie count, but so far everything seems so motivating. I'd love to join this group/challenge even though I'm a bit late. Seeing as we've only got about 7 weeks until new year im hoping to lose 14 pounds before then...hopefully should be achievable!

Anyway my weight as of this morning was 196.5 pounds...so i make that 182.5 by new year.

Well done everyone in the weight loss so far-i hope im as successful as some of you!

Good luck on your weigh in. I cant wait to get under 200 also.

Good morning everyone.  I had a fun weekend with my family who live in a different town than I do and ended up spending the weekend with them.  My question to you may be a dumb one but I am going to ask it anyway.

With the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, Christmas and New Years holidays are you going to pack your own personal scales to weigh yourself while you are away from home?  I will be staying with family for all three and weigh myself every morning to make sure that I stay on track and I don't want to add the extra stress by not having my scales with me to keep myself headed in the right direction.

What are your thoughts?  Am I being ridiculous?

Weigh In Day for me

10/8 SW: 181.5

10/15: 178

10/22: 167.4

11/2 LW: 176.6

11/9 CW: 175.2 (-6.3 lbs. total)

NYG: 160

Yea!! I lost this week.  I am so glad.  I worked really hard last week.  I up'd my callorie intake to between 1200- 1400 a day and exercized 4 days last week on my eliptical.  I think the eating more and execizing were the trick.  I also drank a lot a water. I am not sure if I can make my NYG, but sure am going to try!!!

Weighing In:

LW: 206.2

Today's Weight:  205.0 !!!

GW for 1/1/10:  186

I can't believe I lost a whole pound in spite of a rough weekend.  Keep talking to me girlfriends.

Grammie

Congrats kirstenlynn!

I won't know until tomorrow if I've lost anything, but I've worked hard the past week at doing the treadmill and eating well.  I'll be adding my measurements as well, as I've received a few comments abour weightloss, but I haven't dropped a pound!!  But I'm wondering if I'm losing any inches?!

I think a big part of my problem with not dropping any lbs, is that I usually don't eat breakfast.  I'm just not usually hungry in the morning!!  Today, however I am forcing myself to eat some grapes.  I'm hoping that getting this habit will help boost my metabolism!

I'm attaching an article that is pretty helpful!  I am most definetly an emotional eater!

http://www.prevention.com/obsessedwithfood/in dex.shtml

Emotional eating is definitely my problem - working on it though.  Kellybean - you really need to eat breakfast.  I find that if I start out with a protein - even just a hardboiled egg - or oatmeal and a banana - keeps you pretty good until a snack of grapes or an apple mid-morning.

I'm going to start taking measurements also - That's a good thing.  We just have to keep up the work - I just joined an exercise club - I also had my husband take a picture of me - and then I put an old picture of skinny me next to it - on the mirror iinside my closet door.  I can't believe what I really look like now.  Who is that person?

Let's not give up - good luck this week to everyone.

O well I weighed in today and here are my numbers...

SW (as of this challenge) -- 215

Week one (11/3)-- 209

Week two (11/10)-- 207

NG (11/17)-- 205

NYGW (1/10)-- 195

Good luck to everyone this week!

Weigh in day.

LW: 200.4

TW: 199.6 I think

My scale has been all screwy lately.  I stepped on this morning and it said 201.  I didn't believe that was the case so I stepped off and on again and it said 200.0  then i stepped on and off again, because heck, it went down once, maybe it will again.  Then it said 199.6 and I weighed in again and it said the same thing.  Anyways, I think it needs new batteries.  haha

If this is the case, I only lost .8lbs this week, which i can believe as this weekend consisted of several slices of pizza and a couple cocktails.  Plus I lost my running sneakers and only got to the store yesterday to get new ones.

New years goal: 186.  I've modified this a little to equal 2lbs/week again since I had a bit of a hard time these last couple weeks.  14lbs to go!

overall goal weight: 149

Good for you - you're right on target.  I lost 1.2 this week and I won't weight until next Monday.   Congratulations are in order. Keep it going girl.

Hi everyone!

Today is not a weigh in day, but  weighed anyway, and saw a 2 pound loss since last Thursday. Invigorating! I have set a mini goal for myself: By Thanksgiving day, which is a weigh in day for me, I want to weigh 183 (I was 187 this morning). That will make me exactly 10 pounds lighter than I was on Thanksgiving day last year.

I know ten pounds in a year is like nothing, but considering I gained nine of them back, and only started losing them 9/1/09, I'm trying to look at the positive side. That makes it twenty pounds in a year, which is far better than nothing.

Thank you rodriguezjodi for encouraging me to not be afraid of my goals. I will post my official weigh in on Thursday.

Thank you to everyone for keeping this thread active.

Love, Pam

IRONIC that yesterday I was giving advice about not being frustrated, and today I'm ready to throw in the towel...not really.  I couldn't in good conscience do that...but today is still a disappoint.  Why do I constantly let myself down???

SW: 215.4
LWW: 208.8
CW: 210.0 (+1.2)

How are you doing!

Hey all weigh in day for me!!

SW (2009/06/01) 220lbs

LW (2009/11/03) 163 lbs

CW (2009/11/10) 161 lbs

GW: 150lbs

11lbs left for my goal. Im definitely consistent in my weight loss. I have yet to have a gain since starting in June and am 1 lbs away from losing a total of 60lbs :)

Okay so weigh in day is friday for me...and the truth is I've fallen off the wagon for a little while.  I've had a lot going on mentally and so I have no interest currently in losing weight/dieting.  But this is definately temporary as I read everyone's posts every day on CC.  I also joined another group yesterday that is a motivational group for 10 weeks which focuses on positive attiudes more than the amount of weight being lost.  So I've kind of rationalized just blowing this week off, and starting over again on Friday when I weigh in to both groups.  But today I'm feeling much better than I have for the past few weeks, and I'm totally getting my groove back.  So I'll be back on track in no time.  And I'm still proud of myself for any weight loss.

P.S. SUPER EXCITING NEWS!!! MY HUSBAND'S BONE MARROW IS OFFICIALLY LEUKEMIA FREE!!!Laughing His next Doctor's appointment isn't for 3 whole months!!!  I am literally jumping for joy at work.   Thanks everyone for being here to support me and help.  Everyday I am thrilled to read about your progress.  Keep it up, because you are all an inspiration.
