NOW is the time to change my life
I woke up this morning to the smell of yesterday's oily chips and half-eaten fried falafel...and knew that if I was ever going to change my life around, now would be the time. I will not hide out in loose exercise gear because my trousers no longer fit me, I will not enter this cycle of self-pity for my weight, driving me to consume brioche roll after brioche roll, chocolate after chocolate, chip after chip. I am determined to make my thighs stop touching again. My stomach will no longer hang over my pants. Cellulite will not dominate my body.
I am small. I am asian. I know the stereotypes and I do not conform. Trust me, I'm not trying to become one of those anorexically thin asian girls who are skin and bones. I want my body back from when I was toned, fit, and muscular. A time when I had a two-pack abdomen and thighs that were defined and did not touch. I want the confidence that comes with being satisfied with your body, when you know that you are in control of your life, when YOU (and not your emotions) decide what goes in your mouth.
You can do it!
Good for you... no time like the present. While you're enthusiastic, take a bin bag and trawl your cupboards, fridge and freezer for brioche rolls, chocolates and chips. And when the shops open, replace them with fresh fruit, wholegrains and other good foods. If you make it easier to eat well than to eat badly, that's half the battle.
PS.... a poor diet triggers low moods just as much as negative emotions affect your food choices. Break the vicious circle and you'll feel energised and better placed to cope. Good luck
good luck! you can definitely do it. if you have the willpower, anything is possible. gi-jane is right- "a poor diet affects triggers low moods just as negative emotions affect your food choices." whenever i get in a bad mood my first thought always was "brownie binge!"..but now i get on my workout gear and head to the gym, and channel all my negative energy into running. its ALL mind over matter.. learning to say no to the junk is the hardest part. but the first time you do, it feels amazing. and everytime after that, when you are ready to give into the bad temptations.. you can remember how much better you felt when you said NO and channeled your energy into something else. and remember that you CAN do it. better food choices, and better ways of dealing with your emotions will ultimately make you feel happy, and in control. good luck :)<3

I am so happy for you to even make the choice to change. Eating healthy and exercising is a challenge if it's not something that you're already accustom to. I wish you well and hope when things get tough as they will that you remember how you felt when you woke up this morning.

I started just like you.. One day i just felt like it was time to do it and i just did it.. 10 months later i had lost 85+ pounds and im on my healthy weight. Just keep gathering info (knowledge is power) and look for motivation.. Dont fall into a fad diets.. Have fun with it. Explore new foods and new recipes and you will see it is possible.
Just think how cool it would be when people see u all skinny and think of their reactions.. U will see that it will become a reality. And wait until u go to the store to buy new clothes!
