Hi I was just wondering how long does it take you to run a certain distance??

None in particular. Just say for example 3 miles - 30mins.

Just want to know the range of times and distance:D

Thanks

I am about the same rate as you, average about 10 minute mile.

I'm really out of shape, but I (happily) managed a mile in around 12 minutes recently.

I typically run 4 miles.  Starting at a just under 12 minute mile and bumping up the speed evey half mile to a 10 minute mile.  I think it takes about 42 minutes.

So, 4 miles in 42 minutes.

I'm pretty slow.  3 ~38 minutes, 5 miles ~ 65 minutes.

I was doing Couch to 5K last week and I think I got 2 miles in 26 minutes.

I started running consistently (3-5 times per week) 6 weeks ago. My fastest time so far was 2 miles in about 21 minutes. I was quite happy about that :)

did an 8k (5 miles) in 47 minutes with slight inclines, but i was pacing with a friend who made me run faster than i normally would. it felt like one of the longest runs ever, but so far that's the fastest i've ever done since high school.

did a 10k charity (6.2 miles) a couple of weeks later but too many fricking 'walkers' (& i dont mean the people who kind of walk/jog, i mean there were people puffing cigs & 5 women holding hands across the road) in the 'jogging' section that by the time i could freely jog 3k had passed. anyway i did that in 1:06:47 (had a chip timer). definately could've done slightly faster, still slightly miffed.

other than that i just run for the feeling really.

I'm at about 10:00 - 10:30 mile depending on distance.  10 for a 5k, more like 10:30 for an 8k.

Just did a 5k (3.1 miles) on Saturday in 26:07. Not my best but average for me.

The last time I ran a timed mile it was 7:07 but that was a while ago...I was really really tired afterwards too. My last 5k was like 28 minutes or something.

On a cross-country ski trail, I did 2 miles in about 25 minutes. Seemed slow, but I don't run on roads or tracks, so I don't know what difference that might make. I know trail running is typically a bit slower than running on a smooth, firm surface (which may or may not have hills, like roads, or no hills, like a track).

at a run (not fast but a but more then jogging) i can do a 6.5 min mile

but that was only for 1 mile

usually a good jog is about 11 min miles for me.. but i can only run for 2 miles because where i run is really hilly

if i'm on a treadmill its loads easier and i can do a 10 min mile rate for quite some time

0 min.  I don't run unless being chased!  hehe

Yesterday I ran 3-miles in 25:30, the day before that I ran 4-miles in 36:00, the day before that I ran 5-miles in 46:00.  Today I will walk!  :-P

7.25 miles in 60 minutes or 8:13 minute miles.

10K in about 41 minutes.

I can run a mile in about 7:30 on a treadmill, but if I'm running farther than that I keep it at about 6.5 mph, a little under 10 minutes a mile

I have been running for quite some time now... started out around 7 miles in an hour but now I can get about 8.15 miles done in one hour.  I average around 2 miles every 15 minutes but add some sprints in there to spice it up.

I'm still learning to run, and I switched from treadmill to indoor track a few weeks ago.  BIG drop in my times with that.  Had to add walk laps occassionally.  Right now, 12 minute mile is my fastest time (includes 1 walk lap), and I'm lucky to get the second mile in under 13 minutes (two walk laps).  I'm working on the third mile, but by then I'm so tired I could probably finish it faster if I just walked it.

i have to do low impact because of a left knee problem.  i do my running on the elliptical and do 7 miles in about 65 minutes which is about a 9.28 mile...

I'm not sure if its the same as being on the road but its the best i can do. i am afraid to hurt myself on the road because if get injured then i will be out of the zone that's taken me 6 months to create....

but then again i do mountain bike. go figure?

How can I make walking fun?

You have to find a way to make exercise fun or else you won't do it. If you walk indoors on a treadmill, I recommend moving outdoors into the fresh air... Read more
