It's that time of the month ... what to do for exercise, cravings, and bloating?

Quote  |  Reply

After work which has been super ugly stressful (I am training a new person on loan docs and I have a super short fuse) the only thing I want to do is go home pop in a movie, slide into the old jam jams and eat loads of pizza and oreo cookies ... Ugh!

I am having the hardest time ... I am afraid I will end up gaining back all the weight I just lost :(... that's me crying)

What are some food alternatives, how do you work out and manage to squeeze into anything but jam jams after work?

P.S. Sorry guys for the graphic nature of this ... at times it's hard being a girl.

Ugh I totally know how you feel... there's nothing wrong with throwing on your jams and watching a movie when you feel icky... but if you do wanna munch out, opt for something that tastes sweet but won't do any damage... like fruits (low fat cool whip is awesome), or those fat free frozen chocolate treats (Skinny Cow i think they're called...) and whenever I want to work out on those days I try doing something that is relaxing like yoga or even pilates...

thanks ... we did end up going for a walk and by the time we got home I was so tired we ate a reasonable dinner and went to bed :)

I totally hear you!

I have found that excercise is a great way to reduce stress... whether it is walking off the frustration, or boxing away the anger (on my wii)... it is helpful, as much as I fight doing it initially.

I tend to be the type of person who will excuse myself for one stressful night of binging... but then the next day is the same way and I get in a trap.  So I personally just have to learn to say no... sort of.

Maybe make little homemade pizzas that you know are healthier than what you would get from a pizza joint.  Use those store bought biscuits for crusts, or a whole wheat tortilla for a crust.  Just be careful what you put on it, and then you can splurge in a healthy/gourmet way =)

I agree with the whole fruit and low-fat cool whip idea too... sliced up strawberries with coolwhip = divine.

Love the idea of whole wheat tortillia for pizza crust. Yum!
