Ok, I eat hardly anything each day. I just never feel hungry enough, I like food but I never seem to want it unless I haven't eaten in ages.
I'm thinking of getting protein bars or drinks or something to that effect.
Today I ate some biscuits, and that was it. There was Spaghetti Bolognese for dinner , but yet again I really wasn't hungry enough to eat it.
Any tips on how to make yourself feel hungry, like vitamin tablets or something?
And what type of foods should I be eating? I have been told carbs are the best way to gain weight.
You may havwe a zinc deficiency which is reulting in appetite loss; try eating low-bulk high calorie foods or drinks or eating at set times even if you arent that hungry.
Calories are the key to weight gain; having more than you burn, so calculate how many you need and add about 500 per day.
I know exactly how you feel - as a recovering anorexic my appetite has it's moments where it comes and goes. It's because you're bdoy's in starvation mode, and your metabolism has slowed down. If you eat more, it'll speed up and you'll get hungry again!
I have been set a meal plan, with regular times for eating. This has sort of trained my body to get hungry around these times... maybe you could try that? Leave 3-4 hours between meals and eat 5 small meals/snacks a day (Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner)
Try to eat more protien - things like peanut butter or chicken or beans. This'll help build muscle instead of fat. Carbs are good for energy, so eat bananas and pasta with tomato sauce or fish.
Hope that helps =]
