Tips on getting good skin?

Quote  |  Reply

Please share tips! Oh and by skin I mean face :)

My skin is not bad, but it has quite a few 'bumps' and 'holes'. It doesn't break out often, only around periods, and even that subsides pretty quickly.

On that note how do you heal scarring on faces?

Bio oil is definitely the best thing for scarring.

The way I keep my skin good is try and stay away from too much caffeine and sugar. Drink lots of water and plenty of sleep.

A lot easier said than done!! :)

Ditto....clean eating, lots of water and good night's sleep.

I have pretty oilly skin and will get frequent breakouts, so I didnt know if this will help you, but I love Murad skin products to control breakouts (however, they are pretty expensive). I also really like Olay cleansers and moisturizers for smoother, more even skin.

I use Burt's Bees Peach and Willowbark Deep Pore Scrub makes my skin feel SO SOFT after. It has little pieces of peach stone used as an exfoilant and is 98% natural!

This is sold at walmart/target/walgreens,ect. It's really great for any scars. It totally works which was a suprise to me. I was very impressed by the results myself. I used it for stretch marks. It was a last resort for me that actually showed me real results.

There are little pore cleaners that work great. Try: Clearacil ultra pads and Clearasil Ultra face scrub. (or just the regular kind, I prefer the scrub)... it is affordable, you don't need a prescription, and you don't have to order it. ( They guarantee a difference in 3 days.) I highly recommend it. You can buy at any of the above stores just like the scar cream. I also like the clean&clear morning burst facial scrub. It will really wakes you up in the morning! Lol. Laughing

I'm not acne prone myself but use these when needed, ect. Hope this helps!

btw, Wear Sunscreen/block. <3 It will protect your face/skin from aging prematurely/risks. Drink lots of water now and for the rest of your life.

Ooh. I also use lotion all over when I get out of the shower. It's nice.

I know this is going to sound weird but try heat yoga.  My Mom, Aunt and I did it for  a while and I cannot tell you how many people complimented us on our skin.  I swear it makes you look as if you are glowing from the inside out (and it really dimishes the look of blemishes wth an added bonus of toning your body like you wouldn't believe!) but the only problem is, once you stop, the pretty glow goes away.   Here is another plus to heat yoga, I get boyond terrible cramps during my period but when I did the yoga they virtually went away.

In terms of products I would suggest going to see a dermatologist to get specific advice on what is best for your skin.  I've done my research very well on skin care and I learned that what you pay for in terms of procuts is what you get.  Don't opt for Clinique Mosturizers and Cleansers just because they are cheaper, work well and absorb fast in the skin.  The fact of the matter is, while they make some good make-up products, their actual mosturizer line is absolute crap (they haven't changed their ingredients in decades) and their harsh cleansers actually strips your skin of oils.  ( I personally love Clarins, even though it is a little pricey)
You have to think about climate as well and if you have some permanent blemishes on your face going out into the sun exposed with no sunblock or protection will actually enhance those blemishes, discolour your skin and cause wrinkles.

Hope this helps!

Yeah. It actually gave me visible results just like advertised. I'm glad that I know now for future reference. A lot of parents should have it in their medicine cabinets, imo. I think it's an amazing product for children too. There's was a  noticeable difference just like advertised. I figured it was a waste of money, but worth a shot. Lol. It was one of those last resort skeptical/hopeful purchases. I was very happily surprised it wasn't just a pure waste. :)

To those interested in knowing, in the end I opted for Perfectil, this pills which supposedly have the right vits and minerals for good hair, nails, and skin. It's got pretty good reviews, and to be truthful I'm not a lotions/skincare gal, so even if I buy something I might not use it!

Will update on progress for the benefit of ppl in the future looking for the same tips :)
