Hi all,
Thanks for all the advice from my last post. I have a horrible tendency of putting things like medical care on a back burner until it is too late, hence almost dying from a ruptured appendix. =P (idiotic)
All my severe stomach pain, from sternum to who-ha, was from bronchitis. I ran my usual 3.5 mile route all last week in approximately 30 degree weather, and it just got worse and worse. I actually laughed when the doctor told me what he thought my problem was. I thought sure this stomach pain is not just that.... But he was right. With an inhaler and some antibiotics, I am still coughing, but it doesn;t feel like I am about to give birth to an alien child who will rip my guts out when it comes....
HOWEVER, I do want to get back to exercising. I just adopted a dog who needs the exertion to be her sweet self at night time without too much puppy energy, you know? I do not plan to jog unless I get out and REALLY feel good, but I do want to walk. I could care less what people think about how I look while do it -- fyi..
Looking for advice on how to successfully get back out and on the road...... anyone? I heard wrap a scarf around your mouth??? (my glasses fog up anyway, but I will give it a shot.) WHat else? How else can I keep my lungs from seizing up and trying to strangle me again? ( :
thanks to all you helpful ladies! it is really important to me, not just for me but for the little poopie doggie too!

olivia77, I've been running for quite some time now and I don't know of any way to change cold 30 degree air into warm before it goes into your lungs. Even a scarf or something over your mouth doesn't really warm the air. Be sure you are fully recovered from your illness before you start running again. You don't want it to turn into pnuemonia.
how does that happen, bronchitis into pneumonia?
I will do some googling....
I really want to get back at it, but I don;t want to make it 1000 times worse.

Pneumonia can result from a variety of causes, including infection with bacteria, viruses, fungi or parasites - as well as chemical or physical injuery to the lungs.
Bronchitis is typically caused by virus or bacteria. Did you have acute or chronic bronchitis?
acute, I think.
Never had it before (i.e. not chronic?)
any info you have wpuld be awesome. thanks! ( ;
