Today I ate 3,600? calories ... eat very little tomorrow?

I didn't foresee the caloric content of peanut butter, was stuck inside due to a temporary injury, and ate more than was knowledgeable of and when I counted, it was too much.. I'm supposed to eat about 1,600 calories a day... anyway when I looked in the peanut butter jar and tried to eye how many tablespoons were gone, I calculated 2,000 in peanut butter calories alone.

So, I'm aware of how metabolism is affected when you don't eat, but...I ate more than enough today.  Could I eat very little tomorrow to balance it out?  Breakfast in the morning, lots of water, and then a bunch of veggies... like, lots of food in volume, but not in caloric content?  I also got twice as much protein today but didn't workout at all since I'm recovering from some delayed onset soreness in my msucles.

Just eat your goal calories tomorrow. Don't starve yourself, just go back to your regular amount.

Also, next time use a measuring spoon to measure your PB....you probably overestimated your PB consumption...but just in case....measure!!!

I can make a PBJ sandwich with only 1 tbsp.

At least it was pretty good stuff that you overindulged with! You csn just eat your regular cal's tomorrow and you may be surprised to find that you might lose weight just because your body thinks it needs to burn more because of the extra fuel it has! Sometimes it is good to trick your body like that. But usually not that much in calories is good for anybody as you ate 1 lb. of fat yesterday! Be a concious eater and really try to measure your food, you really would be surprised at the difference it makes in how and what you eat!

just go back to your intended consumption of calories per day, if you eat hardy anything tommorow it will just back fire on and and actually make you retain more wieght by making your body think that it is being starved.

Ahaha I did the same thing the other day. I had so much energy the next day I was bouncing off the walls. There's that at least!

You can have a "light" day (like zig zaggers do), but still eat a healthy, normal amount.

I like that. Ad hoc pick up of zig zagging. Just don't dip below the minimum recommended daily calories 1200 for a woman (1500 if you're under 18) and 1500 for a man (1800).

Ah!!! The peanut butter blues! I do this AT LEAST once a week! lol

I think you should try to listen to what your body tells you.  If the day after a binge you don't feel as hungry, I think it's okay to eat less *but stay over at least the minimum 1200 calories*.  If you are starving, which sometimes happens, allow yourself to eat normally.  This is only way that I have ever been able to break a binge cycle.

one time...i was drunk and opened a jar of PB and chowed down, and the next morning i knew i drank a lot of alc-calories but u can imagine how surprised i was when i saw there was like 1/4 jar of pb gone, 32 servings per jar. yeah. lol i ate normal bc binge purge cycle is so bad

How much peanut butter did you eat??? are you sure it was 2000 calories?

idk, don't feel bad when you ruin your diet goals for the day on natural foods. Just pick up where you left off on your diet tomorrow and consider that your "off" day for the week. At least you aren't like me. On Saturday (I think) I did about 2800 and it was all junk. PURE junk. Like cake, brownies, cookies, etc. Just junk. I think I am more likely to gain off that crap than if I had eaten a whole jar of PB. In fact I'd be willing to bet my whole paycheck I could eat an economy sized jar of chunky oh-so-yummy JIF and not gain more than 1.5-2lbs of solid PB. Where as if I have 2 junk eating days gauranteed I'll be water logged and sick feeling carrying an average of 3-5lbs for about 3-4 days++
