I am going to clean out my system today. I'm also doing it for self-control. So please guys help me! I will be on here every few hours and let you guys know what i ate. (I really want a bagel! lol)
So far 9:20AM : 1 - 9 ounce bottle of water
I'm at work till 5. I have a salad for lunch. And carrots, cherries, and grapes for snacks.

Make sure you keep yourself feeling full..or at least...satisfied - if that's possible. I work until 5 at a desk job and I find that a combination of boredom/not eating often causes me to be hungrier and more likely to binge (this is why I make sure I eat at least a bit every 3 hours). Perhaps spread out your portions even more and eat little bits every 1.5 to 2 hours? I could be wrong, but it's my guess you're more likely to stay continuously "full" and less likely to be sitting there craving other foods.
I'd also maybe save the heavier fruits/veggies (if you have some you find fill you up more) until after lunch. If your work day is anything like mine, the morning is only slightly shorter in actuality, but feels significantly shorter (maybe because lunch is closer?). I try to save my bigger snacks for after lunch because dinner seems so far away (lunch is at 12, and I only get home around 6). I eat more in the afternoon to keep me happier!

I've read about types of cleanses...is this one you read about somewhere or are you just choosing not to eat meat today?
Just don't starve yourself. I think it is good to have something light once in while. I will eat starwberries, cottage cheese and non fat yogurt for lunch today.
good luck:)
good luck:)
GOD I CANT DO IT HAHAHAH and its only 1!
I had two bottles of water... a fruit cup... and thats it
a salad in 30 minutes or so.
I'm definitly NOT going to starve myself. lol
No i didnt read about this anywhere. I just feel like once a week i should start "cleaning" out my system you know.
But I really wanna have a nice dinner tonight. Like grilled chicken and some white rice i dunno

Yeah I know what you mean about the cleaning. I'm not a huge meat person, but I'm crazy about chicken. Even with that though, I've found since Ive started eating healthier I've really just wanted days where I have only fruits/vegetables.
I think that's a good idea for a dinner, but maybe have brown rice? Brown over white foods will usually fill you up more. (If you want to have noodles, get whole wheat pasta!)
And seriously, try the dressing (low-cal dressing)..it makes SUCH a difference! I thought I'd get bored with just a salad for lunch (I'm the type of person where I have to eat something I enjoy or else I won't feel full, no matter how much I have), but with a dressing I enjoy it's not bad at all! I just had lettuce with green peppers, carrots, and cucumbers cut up inside, and then mesured two servings of the dip (total:40 cal).
When I want to have "bad' food I just remember that no matter what I eat (junk food/healthy food), I get hungry and want to eat more afterwards.....if I eat healthy, maybe I'm still hungry, but at least I won't have added an extra 600 cals unneccessarily! Then I can always eat a bit more. I have really been trying hard to start with smaller portions, even with healthy stuff, and adding more if Im' still hungry. This way I don't have a huge plate and feel forced to finish it. I never thought I'd say it, but I think I'm getting full faster!

And yeah, I know the frustration. I'm trying soooo hard to be patient! I think I've already hit a plateau, and it's only been a few weeks and 3 lbs gone!

congrats on the 3 pounds!
I chop up green peppers, and snack on them the way I used to snack on popcorn or chips... I am actually looking forward to my green pepper snack! Those and cucumbers make good munching food when your fingers and tummy are antsy...
also, maybe you could grill some vegies tonight?? mmmmm, grilled corn on the cob.... grilled zucchini, peppers, broccoli, onion... you might feel more satisfied after smelling the grill... put some salt, pepper, and olive oil on before you grill, that's a veggie too!
Good luck, I can't wait to hear how the rest of your day went.... I may try it too!

I grill zucchini, broccoli, onions, peppers (green are good, but red or yellow add some nice color), asparagus, hmmm. think I am missing some!? they are awesome mixed together and lightly coated with salt, pepper and olive oil. I don't typically eat zucchini any other way, but it really is great grilled!
good job getting through your day... over half way!

Cauliflower, carrots, green beans...look for vegetables with negative calories so you're actually losing calories while eating! Those are some I like. Hmm...well else...(I don't know if these are good, but the following also has negative calories)..asparagus, tomato, turnip, beet....
I sometimes make a stirfry with very little oil and just do grilled chicken and three or four types of vegetables. If I need more energy, however, I'll make a little bit of brown rice and put the stirfry on top. If you need flavour, you could add a LITTLE bit of soy sauce. It's really high in sodium, so I just added two quick squirts and then mixed it all. It's a little sacrifice, but I think enjoying your food and being happier is worth the few more calories.
Hope that helps!
P.S. Drinking tea helps me get more water/stay full. Have you ever tried Mighty Leaf tea? It's almost 'premium'-like...it looks like little silk tea bags. Anyway, I get the type called Breakfast Americana, which is variation of English Breakfast. I guess you could say it's 'plain,' but I love it. It helps me get awake without wiring me and helps to curb my hunger. Tazo Awake tea also works well.

Let me get this straight.... there is food out there that has like -5 calories or something???
OMG WHERE HAVE U BEEN ALL MY LIFE??? HAHAHAHA
I need to look all this up!

Yeah! I found a good list on someone's profile but I can't seem to find it anymore! Anyway, yeah, some foods take more calories to digest than are actually in them, so they have negative calories! ISN'T THAT AWESOME! It makes so much more sense as to why typical skinny people in movies just eat carrots and celery all day....hahah.
I dont get the cleansing part. Why, I mean, are you constipated or something? Is it a psychological thing? Warning, eating only fruits and veggies can make you really horribly bloated. Get some beano in there.
lol marneedear... i dont get it either... in my head it makes sense... u eat things like chicken who stays in ur system a really long time... and bread... or whatever u eat...even yogert has some crap in it... so i wanted to eat just raw things how people did back in the day (not raw meat!)
and its not like its going to be a daily thing. i want to do it once a week but i doubt i can do that so maybe once every two weeks.
so far i dont need any beano hahaha

Potatoes are a vegetable too :) And they really fill you up! Sweet potatoes are really good for you, I don't know about regular potatoes. Avocado? Beans? You can do all sorts of stuff with beans... hummus, bean salad, etc. Sometimes when I have a green salad I'll put a handful of no-salt kidney beans or garbanzo beans on top. I think beans are not technically a vegetable but maybe close enough?
Those are all higher-calorie suggestions than lettuce and most fruit, so if you feel like you're going crazy with hunger, one of those should help.
If you're going to grill tonight, mushrooms are yummy too.

Can someone enlighten me to the benefit of scraping by on only fruits and vegetables for one day?
PS, If you look up "raw foods" online you'll see there is a movement of people trying to do exactly what you say... "eat just raw things how people did back in the day". There are hundreds of creative and tasty recipes for all sorts of stuff from salad dressing to full-scale dinners. Some of them get really complicated with food processors and dehydrators but there's plenty of easy, simple recipes that are really good and fill you up too.
Good luck, I'm inspired to try a raw day too!
