Good Morning everyone!! Im in a better mood today than I was yesterday. Seeing my therapist helped a lot.
I weighed in this morning and after only three days of dieting I weigh 188.5 and I was 190.5
Hope everyone has a totally awesome day!!
Good Morning Ladies!!
Karrie , wonderful to hear your feeling better!! and great job on the weight loss!!
Weighed in and I'm 222 Down 5lbs!!!!! Probably alot of water weight since it's the first week but I'll take it!! Hope this will continue with the 1800 cals for awhile!!
Thank you all for posting and sharing your ups and downs this week!! all of you are terrific!! We can do this!!
Have a great day everyone!!
Weighed in this morning - 216.8. Which is kinda a bummer, because I was even less yesterday morning. But, then again, had I worked out last night, I probably would be less than I am now. (I ended up getting a phone call from a friend I hadn't talked to in FOREVER and missed the class I was going to go to...) BUT at least I'm down from last week!!
flowergirl21 WTG on being down from last week. Sorry you missed your class but I bet it was nice hearing from your friend.
I cant seem to get my game on to do the WATP dvd today. I feel like a slug even though I have slept through the night for two nights now which is a marvel for me.
Karrie - don't feel bad if you aren't able to do the actual workout today - you'll have some days like that; you're human! Just make sure to move throughout your day - do the dishes, do some extra cleaning, or just go for a walk outside. And sometimes your body is just trying to tell you "take a break!" or just needs something a little different. Don't worry, if you don't do it today, tomorrow's a new day and you can do it then! And a year from now when you're looking all skinny and hot (not to say you aren't now!
), you won't even remember today.
Or, if you really need some motivation, just glance back at all the motivation the gang gave me last night. I especially liked the Elle Woods quote. hehe
Well, I am up three pounds since Monday, and that puts me at 109, but I'm still in a size 20, and honestly it's my own stupid fault for snacking last night.
Okay, speaking of snacking, let's all share ways to deal with frustration and stress other than eating. I am an emotional eater. My oldest son has Asperger's and we are having some tough times with him right now. Lately, he's been making me want to beat my head into a wall on a daily basis. This morning went better. I came up with something that I think (I hope) will help him (us) get through the morning on a happy note, and so far so good. But that doesn't help me at night. I'm starting up a new rule with myself starting tonight that I get nothing to eat after 7. I can have water, but nothing more.
So, it's 9:15pm and I've just gotten the kids to bed. The evening was tiring again with my boys being rude and trying at the dinner table, and then doing nothing but fight from then until bedtime. My 2 year old is bawling to come out, but I am insisting it's bed time and that she stay in her room, and I really just want everyone to be quiet and leave me alone and I am frazzled. I'm not quite ready to go to bed yet. If this were you, what are some things you would do to cope that do not involve food, knowing that you really ought to be in bed in 45 minutes so you probably don't want to do any vigorous exercise.
Tomorrow, my husband's cousin is getting married. We've been invited to the wedding (we are LDS and she is having a temple sealing and space in the sealing rooms is limited. Cousins aren't normally invited because of that, so we feel pretty honored. It also makes me feel good because although she is quite a bit younger than me, she is one of the cousins from his family that I feel closest to). So that is first thing in the morning. I have to be up at 5:15am (gasp!) to be ready to leave in time.
My 7 year old is going to his friend's house in his pjs to get ready for school there. They go to the same school so they will walk to school together. My 5 and 2 year olds will hopefully be sleeping over at my parents' house tonight, and my mom will be taking my 5 year old to school tomorrow.
The sealing is at 8:30, then pictures, and there is a brunch or a luncheon or something like that afterwards. BTW there is a big snowstorm that is supposed to be on its way tomorrow morning. Yay. I'm thrilled. I get to stand outside in a snowstorm for pictures. I'm shivering now just thinking about it.
Anyway, after the luncheon we will come back for the kids to get them ready for the reception, and we will most likely be there until 8 or so, and be home around 8:30 or 9. I'm going to try really hard to not to eat after 7, which means I have an hour from the beginning of the reception to get something in my stomach. We do not have wedding dinners, just the refreshments at the reception. I don't know if we will try to have an actual dinner before the reception or not. And there will be more pictures at the reception too. I am going to tell myself no to the wedding cake.
Okay so I am really nervous for tomorrow, because I am now up three pounds and I was really hoping for at least a two pound loss this week, and my weigh in is on Monday. And I really messed up last night. I mean I still have some weekly allowance points left, but it still wasn't good.
So, I HAVE to have a perfect day today. Lots of water, no weekly allowance points so I still have plenty for tomorrow, and a workout. And there is this snow storm coming in tomorrow and I have a lot to do today to prepare for it. My car needs to be cleaned out. I hate cleaning it out in the snow and I don't have a garage. The coat closet needs to be cleaned and organized with everyone's winter coats, gloves, hats, and boots found. Both yards need to have a final pick up done before the snow hits so no toys are left out to get ruined by the snow. The pillow needs to be stuffed up into the swamp cooler. And the furnace filter needs to be changed. And somewhere in there I really need to fit in a good workout, especially since tomorrow is my day off of working out, not that I'll have time for one tomorrow anyway.
Okay, so keep me going today girls. No out of control snacking for me today, and I have to come on here sometime before 7 my time (mountain time zone) to report that I have exercised, or I suffer the wrath of all of you. Got it?
And, uh, keep me going through the weekend too, k?
Thanks, you all are great. I've found a good group. Congrats to all who have lost!
Flowergirl, nice job on the weigh in, just think how good skinny is going to feel!!

anyone else like to add?? Good or bad we are here to support each other!!
Every week it is going to get better and better!!
I just plugged in everything I ate yesterday, and it really wasn't as bad as I was envisioning. I still shouldn't have done it. But, I only ended up using 5 of my weekly allowance points. That makes 8 that I've used so far this week, and I still have 27 to use through Sunday if I want. I'm going to try not to use more than I have to though. I will allow myself to use some tomorrow for the wedding, but still watch myself and make good decisions, and then not use any allowance points Saturday or Sunday.
jcbruce_80 what did you snack on yesterday. Could it have been salty and this is water weight? Congrats on the invite to the wedding. Wow you are making me tired with all you have to do today. I also have a son with aspergers and I know how trying it can be, but it does get better as they get older
I actually did do half a mile today walking my kids up to the bus stop and walking back. We live near the back of our complex and their bus stop is at the front of the complex. With it looking so nasty here I just may have to do it two more times to get them home in the rain.
jc , Sounds like your plate is full. Ok...first this is just an idea. I suggested Thursday weigh in's because usually we go out to eat and have social activities that involve eating high sugar, high salt, high fat foods on the weekend so....when monday comes around usually the weight loss is not what we hoped for because we are trying to recover from the weekend (which leads to discouragement, which leads to less motivation and we don't want that. So I started weighing in on thursday to give my body time to recover mostly from salt intake. So if you want to try making today the 1st day of the week instead of Monday. You can start fresh with all your points today, plan for the food at the wedding tomorrow and still feel like you can keep within your points for the week. And next thursday if you stay focused and make good choices I know you will lose!
As far as all the things you need to do, don't think about them all at one time!! Just do the things that are most important today!! God loves you and he knows your needs, pray, pray, pray Listen to some uplifting music, give yourself points at the end of the day so if you have to snack you will not go over your points!! Plan out your points!! You can do it!!
Hehe, yeah. I don't have much of a sweet tooth. I mean, I like chocolate, and ice cream and such, but if you were to hold out a bowl of ice cream and a bag of chips and tell me I could only have one, I'd take the chips. Last night it was Cheez-Its. Ya know? I bought the 100 calorie packs of light popcorn for a reason. Why on earth do I not turn to the popcorn when I get like this? I love popcorn. And I can eat the entire bag for only 1 point and lots of fiber. I really need to reorganize my pantry (not today, I have enough to do today as it is), and I need to make sure my popcorn is right up front so it's the first thing I see when I feel a snack attack coming on.
jcbruce_80 Cheezits have a LOT of salt in them so what you might have is water weight gain not a real gain of weight. Where do you get the 100 cal bags of popcorn? I love popcorn and would like to add it in as a snack.
Good afternoon everyone!
I have been on CC since October. I have been gaining for years and then I quit smoking in September and gained more weight. I started looking on the Internet to see what the best way of losing weight is and after a lot of reading it seemed the calorie deficit was the best for a long term loss. I have already lost about 20 pounds just by eating below the daily limit.
I have not started exercising yet, only counting calories and trying not to go over my daily limit. If I do go for a walk I just add it in but my setting is at sedentary.
It sounds to me like you are all doing well. If you want a better understanding of calories and how they work go to http://recipes.howstuffworks.com/calorie.htm . It is a bit of reading but a lot of information.
Good luck to everyone here, we can all do this and keep it off!
Hi Brandy, welcome!!
Thanks for the website.... wonderful information.
20lbs since october that's fantastic!! I love cc!!
Karrie, I usually get either Orville Redenbacher's Smart Pop 100 calorie mini bags in 94% fat free butter, or I get Jolly Time Healthy Pop 100 calorie bags in either 94% fat free butter or kettle corn.
I'm off to a good start today. I've gotten my 5 year old's bedding through the washing machine and need to get it into the dryer and get a load going in the washing machine of anything we are going to need for tonight and tomorrow. I've cleaned up the living room. Breakfast was two breakfast Lean Pockets and an orange. Lunch was a turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread with spicy brown mustard, no mayo, no cheese, and an orange. I meant to put lettuce and onion on the sandwich but I forgot, so I had a serving of baby carrots to get another serving of fruit and veggies in. I'm finishing up the oranges now.
When I'm done here, I'm going to take care of the laundry, and then go out and get the van cleaned up and clean up the yards. Then I'm going to get my workout in before I clean out the closet. The furnace is in our crawl space, which you get to through our coat closet. So everything has to stay out of the closet until the filter is changed. That's my husband's job because I'm extremely claustrophobic. We're talking panic attacks here. So, I'm gonna have the stuff from my closet hanging out in my living room until it's done, and he's in classes -- I won't see him again until about 4. So, I'm going to work out first so I have the room to do it. I haven't started on water yet because I don't want to have the urge to visit the bathroom in the middle of my work out. So, I'll start in on that as soon as I'm done exercising.
I'm tired. I would like a nap. And I am so going to bed early tonight.
Welcome to the group Brandy. Congrats on quitting smoking! I've never smoked, but my brother, dad, grandpa, and an uncle all did and quit and it was really hard for them. Great job!
Ewwww!!!!!!
Just popping in to say you will never guess what I found in my van! It was a squished body of a snail with the shell still fully in tact and still stuck to it's body. The body is stuck to the carpet and isn't going to come off without some tugging. I tried pushing it with an empty coke bottle but it's stuck there. The shell popped off, and I'm keeping that for my 5 year old, but there is no way I am touching the body. Guess what my husband gets to do today? :)
