I just remembered I have a tens unit.  I was using it for awhile when I was working and it helped a little.  Maybe now that I am not working and not hefting heavy charts and stuff it will help more.  I have to go find it.

Found my tens unit but I cannot find the wires.  I have to call the insurance and see if I can get those replaced.

I called my insurance and they said they would pay for a new one for me if my doctor orders it.  Im not sure he will.  He is such a pain in the butt.  He ordered a lower dose of pain meds than I was on and only called in seven days of it.  I see him on Tuesday and we are gonna have a talk and a half.

Where is everybody?

I am still here!

I haven't posted my weight because it is still up but slowly coming down.

Well my friend has started working with a personal trainer and he has agreed to train me too. I am so excited. And it is free. It is her neice's boyfriend and he said he would train us together at his gym. I am so excited. He said he would do it for free but we will probably give him some money every now and then. And also he could get other clients from us.

Hope to hear from others soon.

Coolhey karrie... been getting ready for graduation, a show opening, and house.. also job hunting... whew!  BUT AM FINALLY LOSING weight... down 5 ponds total to 200...on my 6th week of P90X... food has been good... life hs been calm for about 5 straight days... trying to make today day 6... GOOD THAT YOU GOT A TENS>..

AND HAVE IT OUT WITH THE DOC... I write my doc long letters before I see him, running down exactly what has been ahppening..(because even after 17 years of knowing him I still get scared at the doctor's offices).... SO DO IT!!!!

hey guys, I am still here also.

drama you are doing good! So glad you are losing! how tall are you?

I started the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred DVD. I'm of course on level one. I did pretty well at it for the first day. It was very challenging. I'm thinking I will be on level one continuously cause it is such a good workout. I'm really hopeful this will be my answer! I have been doing well with my eating but needed to up the exercise. It's the only way I will be able to lose because of my age. I used to lose fairly easily. I do want to weigh less so this is the plan! someone also started another thread on the 30 day shred so I'm also posting there.

Another thing is someone pointed out how I was cursing my body. In other words I was looking at the fat and the parts I wanted to change and didn't like and saying yuck! haha... So this person told me to watch my thinking. I figured out a way to change it easily without getting into my head too much... I have started to bless my body. Now I feel fine about it. I just saying 'blessings' to my body and feel the blessings in my body and now I am feeling positive in my body image. Before I was quite negative.

Also I'm still taking the aspara-can and that helps with appetite control. Yesterday I actually ate some nonos at a party but it was so good. Then when I got home I went for a walk and so that much have helped cause I was down a pound.

So my stats are

CW 207

goal weight 140#

loss since yesterday 1#

pounds to go... 60#

I'm feeling really good about my total plan I have going now. It's coming together!

good luck to all and blessings! Laughing

karrie did you go back to the doctor?

congrats on the personal trainer, ttbh!!! that is awesome!

Coolhi yoodlededoo...yes, you sound so good, too... listen, I think THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE WHOLE DEAL IS A KIND MIND SET TO YOURSELF>... ain't nobody else can do that for you... know what i mean.. your friend is right...

we sound the same size.. I started in March at 207... NOTHING MOVED until about a month ago... then I lost .5 ... AND I KEPT GOING NO MATTER WHAT>.. just waitin gfor the miracle... and now I am 200...

I am 5'4"... huge frame.. lots of dormant muscle now waking up with the P90x.. I too am on a thread sharing about my experience with P90x... I know its not supposed to be the best thing for weight loss.. but I know that I need to feel strong.. and that program makes me feel strong... I amnow in my 6th week of it... 6 days a week.. I am now doing my second week of doubles workout... supposed to help with weight loss.. I just need to make sure i get the protein... so in that way it really helps with keeping mynutrition on track... when you actually experience food as fuel.. rather than as lover or emotional crutch.. wll it changes your perception of eating all round...

I am 55.. so this process is bound to be slow... and I am accepting that it is what it is... my committment is total... took me a while to get to this point...

happy to announce that i am Blood pressure med free... my first goal reached...and I have lost 5.3/4 inchs on the body...

holy cow!  great stuff.... keep hanging in there, okay... xo Bonnie

Congrats Dramaqun on getting off the blood pressure med! That is one of my main reason for losing weight. I am 34 I should not be on blood pressure medicine!

Yoodle- that is some good advice I think real negative at times also. I really try not to but I do.

yay, congrats drama! I'm also 55 as of last month. so that is why it's harder for me also. but I am really excited about the 30 day shred.. and everything else. I really feel like I have the right combo going for me now.

ttbh, I think we all get pretty negative actually. It's good to pay attention to it so you will change your thinking. After all we should all be treating ourselves well! I don't think I think real negative but what I was doing was focusing on my fat areas and being kind of disgusted, I guess. I am now more in a place of acceptance.

good luck and blessings to you~* Smile

drama, I just wanted to tell you that you have been an inspiration to me. You have stuck with it when you were not losing and then just stepped up the exercise and finally you started losing. You didn't give up. So I am being more diligent also and it helped to hear your story...

cheers~* Smile

CONGRATS DRAMAQUEEN!!!!!

I went to the doctor and he gave me meds that dont even begin to take the pain away.  I have decided to switch doctors because this one doesnt seem to even care that Im in pain.  All he wants to do is procedures I have already had done that havent worked.  I am going to the new doctor the day before I leave for boston.  I couldnt get in any sooner because of when I saw the other doctor.  It has to be 28 days inbetween.  I did get my tens unit and its working to a degree.  I have to keep turning it up higher and higher to get any relief.  Back pain is the pits.  I know if I lose the weight my back would be better its just getting myself back on track again.

Hi Karrie, Hey how about homeopathics? I take some of them for sleep and finally I found something that works. whew! Maybe they are good for pain. check around on it, ok?

I lost 2# this week! yay me! I'm trying to lose at least 25# by Thanksgiving, which is a realistic goal.

hey everyone!! i hope everyone is doing great! I know I'm...not. I'm not really gaining, but i'm not really losing either, so at least I'm maintaining.

Is anyone finding it hard to keep this up in the summer? I eat so many different things in the summer - grilling out, eating out, ice cream...oh sweet ice cream... Foot in mouth and I just don't seem to find the time/energy/willpower to enter in what I'm eating.

I came back this morning after talking to some of the girls here at work who are also calorie counting - and they've been doing amazing!! Such an inspiration. In 6 weeks, one girl has lost over 4% of her weight, so that's pretty awesome.

So...here's to counting, even during the summer.

Hey Girls! It's been a while since I checked in. Partly because I have been soooooo busy but also because I didn't want to have to actually put down on paper (so to speak) how bad I've been.

As I mentioned before, my husband recently deployed to Iraq so there was an eating out frenzy right before that. Then I've spent the last 2.5 weeks visiting family because my sister came in from Germany (her husband is also in the service and is deployed to Afganistan). It was soooo hot that we just ate out almost EVERY DAY!! I guess the best thing I can say about my weight is that....well, I only gained 1.5 lbs!!! How is that possible? I dont know!

All that to say that I am back home now and am going to kick it into high gear! I just found out that my husband gets his mid-tour leave in December sometime instead of February. That means I have that much less time to look HOTT!!! :)

I'm going back to IN (where my family is) in about a month (5 wks) and I swore I would be well into the 170's by then so we'll see. This morning I was at 186.6...surely I can lose 10 lbs this month, right?!

OK...enough about me. I hope everyone else is doing better than I am!

Good Luck!

~Christy

Chrsty-first of all tell your husband 'Thank You" for all he does. I come from a military family so I know how hard it is. How long is he in Iraq?

Well it has been awhile since I have been on also. I think I am in denial. I just can't seem to get my act together. Maybe I will soon.

Hope everyone is doing good!

Trytobehealthy...he is officially there for a year but there is a strong possibility of them getting extended so we'll see. It's hard with him being gone, but then again, it gives me more time to focus on losing weight. I have said for years that I wanted to lose but this has given me the motivation. I know he loves me and thinks I'm beautiful the way I am, but I want him to come back to a HOTT wife!!

Good Luck getting back at it. Don't worry about the struggles you've been having with motivation...tomorrow is a new day!

Hope everyone has a great holiday wknd.

~C

Wow! It's been dead on here lately!

I know I have been crazy busy so I haven't gotten on much.

However, I have some exciting news to share...I finally broke back down into the 170's!!! This morning I weighed 178.6!! Yay! Now I only have about 30 lbs to my goal weight!

Anyway, I hope everyone is having a great summer and is sweating off those pounds!

~C

LaughingHey CHrsty... CONGRATS! THat is awesome.. I haven't been on this thread for a long time... its pretty dead on all the threads right now... what is it about August?  Has been like this my whole life... my birthday comes (Aug 14) and NO ONE is around to celebrate with me... everyone is away celebrating their own vacations... bum bum whum ummer... happening again..

At any rate... I WANT TO ANNOUNCE>>>>>I FINISHED 91 workouts in 90 days on the P90x doubles workout routines... tough and really hard to do... not many people ever do the whole thing... everyday... AND I DID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am onto the 13th week.. a little calmer... and am going to start over and add another set of workouts, more dance oriented... total loss... 14 pounds, 11 inches off my body... averaging a pound a week.. and I am fine with that... its the darn hormonal plateaus that kick my butt... and I am on one now... there I need the help to stay hopeful... need to remember to not give up before the miracle!!!!
