Hey im new hear just been reading everyones stories they are great i hope to share my stories and weight loss with you too. Congrats to all of you. I am going to weigh myself in the morning and start then i would like to join in on your thursday weigh in's so ill let you know more tomorrow! Thanks
Good morning everyone!! Today is starting off really well. My son got his homework done on time for the second day in a row. I was able to let my youngest take the bus to school after dropping off my eldest. My youngest LOVES to ride the bus. My blood sugar was down this morning from 410 to 195 which means its getting under control. We have our tree up it just needs to be decorated. Now if I could get our puppy to quit chewing on it all would be good. I have never had a puppy that chews like this one does. She chews on EVERYTHING. I am constantly taking stuff out of her mouth. We have tried to puppy proof the house but she still finds stuff. And if she is not chewing on something shes not supposed to she is chewing on us. We have learned very quickly to keep a toy in our other hand.
Hiope everyone has a totally awesome day!!
2.0- 5.0
- 2.0
- 9.0 total weight loss so far, way to go!! (flower do I have your total correct?)
Whoops...sorry about that! Guess I should also include how much I lost in addition to where I'm at now! I'm down 1.2. Yay!
Thank you all for the warm welcome.
I do not know what happened to me last night. I had all sorts of salt and sugar cravings, should have gone to bed. Instead I ate all kinds of stuff and went way over my limit. I drank a lot of water before I had my junk and it is TTOM but does anyone have any ideas for these times when the cravings are overwhelming?
Have a great weekend everyone!
I totally hear ya Brandy. Especially during TTOM!! For me, it's more about doing something with my hands than actually eatting something. So I'll knit, play with the cats, read a book - something to get my mind off of it and make my hands be tied up.
Something else that I've found really helps for chocolate cravings - especially during these cold winter months!! (it was -2 when I got up this morning BRRR!!) Try the swiss miss no sugar added hot chocolate. It's warm and filling and it hits the spot every time.
Or you could try chewing gum. Or try the 100 calorie packs of popcorn. I know I should be offering you ideas on "healthy" foods, but lets face it - sometimes we're going to be weak and we're going to be human and we're going to crave and feel like we NEED the things that we know are bad. So these are healthy alternatives to that. :)
Good luck - and just remember to drink lots of water!! That will help you flush out the water retention that's going on righ tnow too.
Hello Girls!!
Hope everyone is having a good day!!
Karrie puppies are so cute (when they don't chew on everything!) what kind of dog is it? I'm so glad your numbers are better, awesome!!!
Jc, My 8 year old son would love to have your snail!! Dead or alive, shell or no shell. lol Don't get many around here... too hot!! hope your having a wonderful time with your family at the sealing. Good luck with managing your food today!! You can do it!!!
Brandy and flowergirl, I know what you mean about ttom!! I crave sweets. As women we get the lovely joy of our hormones doing a number on us every month. Not to mention blowing up like a balloon
Usually up 2 to 3 pounds during that time ugh!! The 100 calorie snacks like chocolate covered pretzels, or chocolate cookies might help.
elagant where are you? hope everything is going ok!!
Melissa welcome!! look forward to hearing from you!!
Make healthy choices and be strong!! We are going to be so skinny!!
Hi everyone weighed in this morning at 198.9 i had a pretty good day ate healty today but not easy everyone at my work brought in sweets and they brought pizza not easy saying no but i did. I did have some popcorn tonight with my daughter but only a mini bag 100 calorie bag. Have a headache though from not having my pop but im sure its gonna get better. Well ill keep you all posted oh and where is everyone from.
Hey everyone. I have about an hour before we have to leave to go to the reception. Things have gone well, but I was bummed to find out that the luncheon was not a buffet (meaning I could serve myself and no one would be offended if I chose not to eat something). I've calculated everything, and I've used every single point allotted to me. Not one over, not one under. So, this is where I draw the line. I'll stick to water at the reception and fresh veggies if they are available. I'm comfortable right now. I don't feel stuffed, and I'm not hungry. If I start to feel hungry before the reception, I have a bag of baby carrots, a head of cauliflower, and a bag of baby carrots and broccoli, as well as a bag of lettuce and some fat free Italian dressing in the refrigerator and all of that is 0 points. I also have a can or two of Light Progresso soup in the pantry, and half a can of that is also 0 points. So if I'm hungry before we have to leave I'll have a salad or some raw veggies, and then I won't eat anything at the reception and stick to water. After the reception, if I'm feeling like I need something even though it will be after 7, I'll have half a can of soup. So, that's where I stand. The day has been good, and I even got to meet one of the Twelve Apostles. Awesome! Anyway, my 7 year old wants the computer now. I'll check in later.
jcbruce_80 sounds like you have everything figured out. Good for you!
Im not sure what to tel you about the cravings during TTOM luckily I dont get that anymore.
Joyfulnow the puppy is a Lhaosa aso. She is as spunky as she is cute.
Had the AC on all day and its so cool outside that we actually had to turn the heat on tonight. Im in a long sleeved shirt and velvity fleece pants and Im still cold.
Ive done really good today that makes five days in a row!
I'm home and I made it through. I didn't eat at the reception, just drank a lot of water. The kids were still hungry after so we picked up some pizza. I'm staying far away, and eating a cup of light progresso vegetable barley soup, and a cup of diet cocoa, both 0 points. It's been a long day and I'm tired, so as soon as I get the kids down, I am going to bed. I will reward myself for staying away from the pizza by having a slice of cold pizza for breakfast in the morning (my favorite breakfast in the whole world).
Way to go jcbruce!!!! I do not think I could have been so good. You should be very proud!!
Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I am glad I found this forum
.
way to go jcbruce - you're self-control is amazing!! you are doing so awesome!
LOL Oh Karrie...cold? today the high was 16 or so here. Yup, that's farenheit (or however you spell it!!) now we have a blizzard moving in close for the weekend, and monday's HIGH is 5. Hope that makes you feel a lil warmer!! hehe
I admit it I am a weather wimp. I have lived in Florida for so long that when it gets to 60 Im freezing LOL!
Im in a really good mood today. I think I might just get my youngest son off his gameboy and get him out to play tennis. I need the exercise and he needs to get outside more. Oh drat we cant find a tennis ball. Hmmmmm maybe I will go down to the fitness room and walk on the treadmill. I need to get out some of this energy.
202 pounds, Baby! Yeah!!
Even though I don't normally weigh myself on Saturdays, I did this morning just to assess the damage from yesterday. I am DOWN to 202 lbs! That's 4 lbs since Monday!
We will also be getting snow all weekend. It is snowing as I type this, and I'm loving it. I love the snow. I just wasn't in love with the idea of standing in it for pictures yesterday with a skirt and nylons on! It's supposed to snow through Monday.
I'm not sure what position I was sleeping in last night, but I woke up with very sore muscles all along the left side of my back. Ouch. I really want to work out today, especially since I have no more weekly allowance points left, I would like to at least earn some activity points just in case I would want them today. Plus, I never did get a chance to work out Thursday, so that's two days I haven't exercised now. And I've found it's sort of like getting kicked off a horse. Once you're off you have to get right back on again, or you never will. That's how it is for me and exercise. I don't like to have more than one off day in a row, because the more off days I take the harder it is for me to get back to it. I think I might do some stretching to help wake up those muscles and bring them out of it, and then do a WATP dvd and 15 minutes of toning. Plus, I will probably be shoveling snow sometime today, especially since my husband got up in the middle of the night to throw up. I don't think he's going to be in any condition to shovel anything today.
Melissa - Welcome to the group. It's good to have you.
Karrie - The last couple of days you have sounded so happy and in such a good mood. Your blood sugar sounds like it's responding very well to the changes you are making. Good for you! I love puppies. We got our beagle as a 2 year old, so I never went through the puppy stage with him. It's just as well, I think I might have torn my hair out having to do that on top of little kids. But I often think he would have made a darling little puppy, and he probably was.
Brandy - You sound like me at night. For me I get frustrated with my kids during the evening and by the time they go to bed, I've had it and I am an emotional eater. And then that's when I turn to the box of crackers or the bag of chips. And for me, yes, going to bed would help me not eat, but I'm so wound up, usually that my head isn't ready for bed. I'm planning on going through my pantry today, and reorganizing it, and making sure that the light popcorn all gets placed up at the front. Believe it or not, popcorn is actually good for you as long as it isn't slathered in butter. Popcorn is a whole grain, contains tons of fiber, and you can eat an entire mini bag of light popcorn for only 100 calories -- and a large bag for just a little bit more! And because it has so much fiber, it has some staying power and will help you feel satisfied longer.
Flower - I also like hot chocolate. I get the Swiss Miss Diet - 25 calorie cocoa. I can have a cup of that for 0 points. I grew up in a nonactive LDS home and my parents and maternal grandparents were (are) coffee drinkers. I think I had my first cup when I was 11 or 12. I don't remember exactly. And my grandpa first started buying me coffee nips candies when I was about 6 or 7 and I loved them. But for me it had nothing to do with the caffeine. I love the flavor of coffee, and I love the warmth it provides especially on cold morning. So, when I became more interested in the church around age 14, that was something I had a hard time with. But I quickly found that cocoa was a good alternative for me. It still has a flavor I love and still provides that warmth. I don't drink it as much during the hot summer months, but starting, usually mid-October or so, I usually have a cup of cocoa first thing in the morning. I love that there is a cocoa that tastes good that I can drink for 0 points!
Melissa - Good for you for resisting all that temptation at work. I'm trying to break a Coca Cola habit. I'm not trying to get rid of soda altogether, just sodas containing caffeine. I'm from Utah. How about you?
jcbruce yep my blood sugar is well under control. Im in the 100's rather than the 400's. I found that my blood sugar being high really does effect my mood. When it gets high I tend to get depressed and moody.
How much of a difference is there supposed to be between your eating meter and your burn meter. I keep coming up with over a thousand difference. Somehow I think thats too much of a difference. I have to stay on the 1200 cal diet though because of my diabetes.
wow!! 5 for a high......... buuurrrrrrrrr that's cold!! ha ha I'm with you Karrie , I live in AZ and it doesn't take much for me to be cold either!! High's here can go up to 112 hot, hot!!
Well went out to lunch yesterday.....(olive garden) love the tuscana soup 170 cals and went out to eat again for dinner (Chinese) salt, salt, salt .....ugh and went over my cals about 300.......so got to be good the rest of the week!!! Why do we do that??? Know better and always feel dumb after. Guess I was flying high off my 5 lb loss lol
Karrie, in the 100's, I'm so happy for you, I need your energy today, went to bed too late and I have shopping and wash to do and I'm going to have to force myself to get with it!
Jc, you go girl!! Sounds like your so focused!! great job!! What Apostle did you meet? How exciting!! Loved the Christmas devotional on Sunday.... recorded it and haven't watched it all, but what I saw of Eyring's talk was so wonderful, helped put me in the Christmas spirit.
Bye the way is everyone ready for Christmas? I got the tree up and most of decoration's but the shopping is not so good. I love Christmas music!! I drive my kids crazy listening to it ha ha
Hope all of you are well!!
Have a good day everyone!!
