How much of a difference is there supposed to be between your eating meter and your burn meter. I keep coming up with over a thousand difference. Somehow I think thats too much of a difference. I have to stay on the 1200 cal diet though because of my diabetes.
If I remember right we should have 500 less than what we burn, to loose.....is that right girls??
Joy - I had a feeling you were LDS, but didn't want to assume as much. Your mention of your daughter going to "Young Women's" had me highly suspicious! LOL. Anyway, I totally spaced the Christmas Devotional, and I was mad I really wanted to watch it. So I didn't hear any of it. It was Elder L. Tom Perry that walked by. He is just gigantic in person. He does not look that tall when I'm watching Conference. It was neat. When he walked up to the recommend guys, we were still waiting for my husband to check in his camera, and I looked up and saw him and was like "wow, he looks familiar" and then it hit me who he was. I didn't get to shake his hand or anything, but we were all overcome with this feeling of awe, and it got really quiet. LOL. You'd think we'd seen Brad Pitt or something! Anyway, I'll never forget it, and that's a moment that is going in my journal!
My little girl caught the bouquet last night! I told her to go try to catch the flowers and I didn't really think she would and the totally landed right in her hands. You should have seen the look of shock on her face. It was so funny! And my 5 year old caught the garter. It was funny to see the look on his face when I told him that meant he had to marry his sister!
I have my tree up but its not decorated yet. We still have to move the ferrett cage so we can push the tree back. I have not done a single bit of Christmas shopping and cant until I get my disability check on the 24th! Of course my husband is working that day and I will have to leave the kids alone together and hope they dont kill each other. Thankfully I know what I am getting for each person and for the family so that should make shopping faster.
Morning All!!
Bad mogjt pf sleep last night. My eldest made coffee to try out this new chocolate creamer and he was like Moooooooooooom youre not going to have a cup of coffee? So I had a cup minus the creamer. That was around 7PM and I know I should not have anything cafffinated after about 3 if I want to sleep.
Not much planned for todday. We will gp tp church if hubby gets up in time. He wasnt feeling too well last night. If not we will clean around the house and decorated the tree and clean the ferrett's cage.
I had pizza last might and even though my diet says I can have it I felt really guilty. It felt like way too much food and way too many calories. I felt gross after I ate it. Dont think Im going to do that again anytime soon. Im just so used to eating healthy now. Ive been drinking lots of fluid to flush out the sodium in it.
Hope everyone has an awesome day!!
Somebody shoot me. I have the worlds worst heartburn from that stupid pizza last night. Even milk didnt help it and that always helps. I swear I will never eat anything not healthy ever again.
Hey Karrie - sometimes that's the hardest - craving/wanting/eating something you know is bad, but still doing it. And at least you were able to learn early that it really isn't worth it. Next time you're craving it, remember this morning - and the pain! It just isn't worth it. :)
Oh I will for sure. Even though my diet says I can have it, it's still not good for me nor healthy. My body has gotten used to healthy things being put in it over the last week and I guess just couldnt handle the pizza. Just because it says I can have it doesn't mean I have to eat it.
How much pizza did you eat last night and what was on it? I don't believe in making any food a no no except for alcohol and caffeine, or unless there is an allergy or some other health reason. Pizza actually can be very good for you. It can have foods from every food group. When ordering out, I get it with a thin crust, always marenera sauce (never alfredo), only one kind of meat and that has to be either pepperoni, Canadian bacon, or grilled chicken, and as many veggies as my family will allow (generally only black olives and mushrooms, with green olives on mine and my husband's half). If I'm making it myself, I use whole wheat flour if I have it in the house, again make a thin crust, use reduced fat cheese, again only one kind of meat that is either turkey pepperoni, Canadian bacon, or grilled chicken, black olives on mushrooms on the whole thing, green olives on the grown ups' half, and then on the slices that are just for me I also put onions, green peppers, artichoke hearts, spinach, broccoli, and any other veggie I have in the house that would be good on a pizza. For lunch (or breakfast) I only allow myself one slice and have a salad or a piece of fruit with it. For dinner, I allow myself two slices. If pizza is made right, it can be full of fiber, the right kinds of protein, calcium, and lots of vitamins. I don't think you necessarily have to say no to pizza unless one thin crust slice with no more than one kind of meat and lots of veggies really does make you sick. You just have to be smart about it.
It had pepperoni on it. I had two slices because that's what my diet for dinnner would allow. It just might have been the make of the pizza. We got it at Walmart. I normally dont get heartburn from the pizza we order in. I finally did get rid of the heartburn though with some diet hot chocolate.....go figure.
I don't shop at Walmart so I couldn't tell you. But yeah, when buying frozen try to get the thinnest crust you can find. That may have been it. Or they may have added some spices to their sauce that didn't agree with you. Or there there could have been too much cheese. The diet cocoa may have helped because many of the diet cocoa varieties contain a good amount of calcium, which helps fight heartburn. That's why there is so much calcium in Tums.
Neat so that's why it worked. I feel so much better now than I did this morning. I really thought I was gonna be sick this morning. Dh felt like that last night so it didnt set well with either of us. No more Walmart pizza. We have a geat restaurant that we normally order from and I think if I have it again we will get it from there.
Hi Girls
Karrie every time I eat frozen pizza the same thing happens to me too. Even delivery like papa johns. I usually do better with domino's or little cesars. I think it's the cheese and the fat. As i have gotten older I can't handle too much dairy, it make me sick. Thin crust is usually nicer to my system and bacon or ham instead of pepperoni.
I found some 100 cal snacks at the store yesterday... Hershey has 100 cal chocolate sticks( for the chocolate lover in you!!) and orville redenbacher has mini bags of butter popcorn that are 160 cals a bag,( 4 pts) if you want to splurge and feel like your eating real popcorn, I loooooovvvve popcorn and the 94% is just a little too salty and dry for me all the time. Keebler has a variety twelve pack with 100 cal bags of cheez-it's, mini fudge strip cookies and fudge dipped mint cookies they are all the real stuff so the bags are pretty small but they taste good (2pts) each. I'm trying to stay away from artifical sweetners(seems like they give me a headache ) My body needs more fat to feel full so trying to find regular snacks in small serving sizes. Also western bagel has 100 cal, bagels, and english muffins (only 1pt) very low fat and have 5g fiber!!
Jc, wow L. Tom Perry!!! I got to see Howard W. Hunter at a regional conference in AZ and as soon as he walked into the room it was amazing!!
Dana what happened to you girl??
Flower, how is the weather?? I bet it is cold, a high of 5 ,I can't even imagine what that would be like. It's raining here today and the high will probably be 45 and it's cold to me, and I love it, it feels like winter and it doesn't feel like that very often during the winter months here lol, it is usually hot year around!! I'm going to have some hot chocolate and seize the moment!! lol ![]()
Hope all of you are having a great day!!
joyfulnow those snacks sound delish. I need to go look on Friday when my hubby gets paid for some snackies for me. Now keeping my kids out of it is another story. They have been told that I can only eat certain things because of my diabetes and they still go after my stuff. They ate up all my cheese sticks so now I have to go with eggs at lunch which does nothing for my cholesterol and I cant eat just egg whites. (shiver)
My husband is still sick, and when I woke up there was a good amount of snow on the ground. I had three hours to get at least the driveway shoveled, as well as get three kids and myself ready and to church. Yeah, I think not. So, we have had a lazy day. I did go out and shovel after it quit snowing so I'd only have to do it once. And we've spent the day sitting around playing games with each other in our comfies. I've made good choices today. Not fantastic ones, but not terrible either, and I'm still OP. I just finished eating a serving of chocolate chip teddy grahams because I was craving chocolate, and am following it up with a braeburn apple and some baby carrots, to help me feel full so I don't eat more of the junky stuff. Because my husband is still sick, I'm not planning on cooking dinner tonight. It will just be a free for all. For me, I am thinking two servings of leftover lasagna from earlier this week (I need to post the recipe as it's only about 250 calories), and a green salad with fat free Italian dressing.
Joyful - Wow, that would have been amazing to see Howard W. Hunter. Was that before or after he became the prophet? Not that it would have mattered, it would have been awesome anyway. He became the prophet very soon after I became interested in the Church, and of course died so quickly after. Gordon B Hinckley was pretty much the only one I knew. It really affected me when he died last year. You would have though my grandfather had died or something.
Hello everyone. I had a pretty good day.Last night i went out to the bar with some friends and of course after the bar feeling pretty good we all went to the pizzaria by the bar and i had deep fried garlic fingers i felt bad after i ate them but for a good note i walked 2 miles before the bar and also tonight did the 2 miles. I go walking at our stadium its so cold out that its better to go in there. I live in nova scotia. Anyway have a goodnight everyone talk to you tomorrow.
Melissa good for you getting four mies in in two days. I bet all that exercise negated what you ate last night.
Its so funny the dog and the ferrett are playing together in bedroom with my hubby. I gave the dog a bath and blow dried her today and I think I may have scared her for life LOL!! She is all fluffy and pretty now though.
Well I am off to bed. Night Night all.
Good morning all!!
I weighed in for my official weigh in for my therapist and I am only down 3 pound to 187.5. I was hoping it would be higher than that. Oh well as hubby said I put it on slowly it's going to come off slowly. Still kinda bummed because I was expecting 5 pounds.
Hope everyone has a totally awesome day!!
Karrie 3 pounds is GREAT!!! I've never lost that much - don't get down on yourself, celebrate every pound lost!
I also had my official weigh-in today. I didn't lose anything, but I didn't gain anything either. Well, at least for my morning weigh-in. We're also doing a biggest loser contest at work, and I gained 1lb there. I'm not sure what's going on with my scale today... Early this morning when I weighed, it kept bouncing around!! It went from 215 something, to 216.2, to 217.8, to 220, and then settled on 216.8. I tried it a few times, and it kept doing the same thing. And then at work to be up a pound, even though I'm the same...WTF?
And another hard thing happened today. I originally put my "first goal" for 20 lbs lost by Christmas. (I started back in September). I just realized that's a lil over a week away - and there's no way to lose 17lbs by then! (at least, no healthy way). So I pushed it out til 2/14. That kinda bums me out that I didn't make my first goal - and I had so long too!! Granted, I have lost weight, so that in and of itself is good, but...
Well, today is a new day, tomorrow is new, I'll just try to do better and better!
Good morning Karrie, Flower and all the rest of you fabulous ladies!!
1 lb is great Karrie! and when you weight in on thursday you will probably be down some more!!! Your doing good!! Be happy!! Seize the day and enjoy every moment!! That's something I have been trying to do better at.....enjoying the journey. Trying not to sweat the small stuff! We can get ourselves so worked up over things, instead of looking at all that we really do have and counting our blesings( enjoying the glass half full)... make any sense?
Flower, keep setting goals, you will get there!! Maybe the biggest loser contest will give you that liitle boost you need!! You know my pesky scale does the same thing to me too lol Maybe it needs a new battery. We are here for you and you will meet your goals you have the power!!!
Got breakfast in - 2eggs, english mufffin, a little mayo and ketchup and yum my egg sandwich and 1 gala apple. Eggs are probably doing a number on my cholesteral but doc told me to take red yeast rice to bring it down.... now all I have to do is take them lol they are horse pills ugh
Jc, where are you, shoveling snow? hope everyone is well in your house today!!
Make good choices!! No worries!! Have a wonderful day everyone!!
Hi there ladies! My name is Lesley from Oklahoma. I joined CC on December 3rd, 2008. I have gained little by little since 2003. I graduated high school then and it seems like I just keep packing on the weight. I was 130-135 at the most when I met my boyfriend of 5 years now back in Sept of 2003. On December 2nd, 2008 I weighed 187lbs. WOW! The most I have ever weighed. I went to a weight doctor on the 2nd and he put me on a 1000 calorie a day diet. WOW has this been a HARD 10 day journey so far. I was a fast food junkie as my boyfriend explained to me last night. :) I was, I never felt like I ate very much in a sitting which hell that can be deceiving sometimes though. Anyway, so I think I started out incorrectly with this 1000 calories a day because I would be good to get to 600 cals a day when I started this 11 days ago. So basically it seems like I went into starvation mode. OOPS! Anyway, I am trying to do better, the most problem is finding foods and making meals. I am at 181 as of saturday night I weighed on my mothers scale while I was at her house. That means 6 lbs to date! WOW....but I feel like I would have lost more if I were to drink more water. I have learned that over the past week and trying to drink more more more more water. I HATE WATER so I usually drink Crystal Light with it. :) I just wanted to introduce myself, I read your post and all of you sound VERY motivating and I like that. I need some people to help with food choices and motivation. I think I did this right as well. I am not sure if I am posting this right because I am signed up on the group on 51-100 pounds to lose but anyways hopefully I did it.
Which foods are high in both fat and calories?
Foods that are high in both healthy fat and calories are all nuts, nut butters, seeds such as sunflower seeds, oily fish (salmon, sardines... Read more
