I just wanted to thank everyone around the CC boards for supporting me this entire time. Even after I lost my 175 pounds I stuck around to stay focused and motivated to maintain my weight.

{{hugs}} we can get through this.

I just bought myself a ring that quotes the inspiration "one day at a time" to remind myself that I cannot fail, and I cannot accomplish all in one day. Keep on truckin! And Happy Veterans day!

Starting Weight: 294

Maintaining Weight: 120-125

Wow, congratulations 2b!  How totally awesome.  Not just the weight loss, but keeping it off.  That's not something everyone can do.  I love the support here, and am happy to hear that this group was a big part of your success.

Congrats, on your remarkable weight loss! Stories like this really inspire me :)

Congratulations! Awesome accomplishment. Don't ever forget that you've made a permanent lifestyle change! Keep at it!

so, which is more challenging? Losing the weight or keeping it off? (if you don't mind my curiosity)

Thats what I was going to ask! Is maintaining as challenging and as much work as losing the weight?

This is kind of a tough one. Losing weight it was exciting to see the scale go down down down which is totally fun. I was strict so my mind completely ignored the words "cake" and "cookies". Maintaining weight I get to enjoy every day being healthy, and I can skip around all the time, but I still do count calories in maintenance.. BUT I don't feel bad eating the random cookie or slice of cake. But opening those doors back up takes some MAJOR willpower.

Once you hit maintenance it's like an "alright here I am, now what?" moment. I have other goals I wish to accomplish throughout this next year.

Such as:

  • It's OKAY if the scale fluctuates. Your body isn't a solid mass and weight goes up and down from water, food, etc.
  • Working out really helps the mood :) I still need to get on this more.
  • Food doesn't have to make you a nervous wreck. And never fear calling a restaurant ahead of time for asking about 'low fat' options.

I'm sure I have more, but we'll leave it there.

star congratulations on your accomplishment.
