Tofu Shiritaki Noodles

Quote  |  Reply
I can't believe how awesome these noodles really were. They only cost $1.79 at Central Market and made for a great stir fry. It made a huge bowl for only around 130 cals ( including 2 oz chicken and some frozen veggies). Definitely give them a try.

I just discovered that there are two dishes by "Smart Ones" (frozen food) that are great toppers for the shiritaki noodles.

Creamy Chicken Parmesan 240 cals

Chicken Marsala 180 cals

Just rinse and heat the noodles in some water and microwave one of these dishes. I also usually have a small side salad. I sprinkle a little cheese on top too! This is such a big meal for under 300 calories. Unbelieveable!

I've been looking for these for a month! Finally yesterday they were in the refrigerated section!? lol Is that always true b/c they're made of tofu?  They look kinda soggy so I'm a little scared but excited for lunch today..

Just be sure to rinse them very good ... I cut them up with some kitchen food scissors and then heat in some water. They are already cooked. Heating them in water seems to help with the texture and also further get rid of the unique smell.

You'll either hate them or love them.

i adore tofu shirataki!! definitely rinse very well. i always rinse then boil mine for a few minutes before eating. when i'm feeling lazy i love using them to bulk up frozen meals! my latest fave is taking an amy's veggie lasagne, cutting it up and mixing it all up with a bag of shirtatki. yum!

I keep hearing about these noodles.  I went to Whole Foods yesterday to try and find some, but had no luck.  Are they in the pasta aisle?  Frozen section?  Please help! :)

They are usually in the dairy section as they do need refrigeration.

I buy them at

I hear that they are also available at Trader Joes.

i buy them from locarbu.com too, great site and service!
