How can I tone my stomach after having an SPD baby?

I had SPD when I was pregnant with my third.  It was so extreme that I was bed bound and ended up in Special Care with a chest infection.  I had to be induced early. I am struggling now to lose the weight.  I was a small 14 (10st 10) before pregnancy and I am a large 14 (11st 6) and so I have pregnancy weight and normal weight to lose.  Is there any help you can give me to exercise.

Symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD) is a condition characterized by pain and tenderness in the hips, lower abdomen and groin during pregnancy or beyond because the ligaments connecting the pelvic girdle bones become too loose too soon.  Your doctor can advise you about which exercises to do and when but I would expect swimming, water aerobics, and biking to be on the list.  Regular pelvic floor exercises will always be a good idea for you.  To do pelvic floor contractions, lie down without moving your back while you squeeze the muscles of the bottom of your seat in and up as you pull your belly button in and up at the same time.  Hold the contraction between 5 and 10 seconds and then relax. To lose weight, continue to follow a low calorie diet.
