How to tone your upper legs and core area??
I was wondering if anyone knows how to quickly tone your lower body and your core area. Is the alliptical a good way to do so or no? also are lunges and squats good or just a waste of time.
Sprinting is the best way. It not only gives you an unbelieveable cardio workout, but it also gives you a KILLER stomach workout and gives your legs nice natural looking definition. My stomach and legs have gotten a lot more definition since I started doing sprinting sessions 2-3 times per week.
Here is a great routine that you can do 2-3 times per week on your non lifting days that will get your cardio, stomach, and legs all in one. Stretch for ten minutes to prevent injury, and then do a three minute warm up to get loose. Once that is finished, sprint as hard as you can for 15-20 seconds. Then walk briskly for 45-60 seconds. Then continue to switch off from sprinting to walking for 15-20 minutes. Finish with a 5 minute cool down.
Sprinting just has a lot of benefits to it, and one of the best is that it raises your metabolism for hours and hours after you are done. So you are even burning calories while you are at rest.
You'll find it impossible to tone your body on a starvation diet. When a body is as severely malnourished as you're planning to make yours, it will start to draw on muscle-tissue to make up the shortfall in energy.
Lunges and squats, in your case, are a 'waste of time' unless and until you increase your intake to something more appropriate for an active teenager.... http://www.bcm.edu/cnrc/bodycomp/bmiz2.html Run your stats through this link and read off the number that you should be aiming for.
