I have the Gazelle Supra...not sure what the difference is between the two. I just dug it out of the closet today. lol
We'll have to keep in touch and see how it goes. :D

I had the gazelle freestyle. Is the edge the same thing? Basically a glider... I tell you what that thing was deceptive. It looks easy and fun and you don't feel it while you are working out but when you get off, your legs hurt!
yeah they are all the same reeally.. just i think mine is the 'cheaper' model.. lol.. how much time do u honestly use it? i just started today.. i did 30 mins this morning and 15 mins this afternoon and plan on 15 tongiht... if the computer thingy on it is right, 30 mins is about 2 miles and about 200 cals burned... i like the way the timer and everything stops when u get off and then starts when u get back on, motion-detected so i can stop and get a drink or tend to the 3 yr old as needed w/o mesisng up my time or anything!
Yeah, I like that too! I DO have one problem....
Does anyone know how to clear it back down to zero?

hold the button down for like 3 seconds or so... cant remember WHAT button.. cuz i am not in my room, but iknow its an obvious button.. lol.. thinking its even the ONLY button! haha!
Yep, that did it. Thanks bunches!
I don't have mine anymore :( I lost it along with about 200 lbs when I got divorced. LOL Once I have the room I will get another one because I really liked it. Mostly I used it in the winter and when the weather was bad. But I did drop some weight on it. When I had it, I worked out for 45 minutes 5 days a week.
Now would you compare the Gazelle to the Elliptical? rcole does the one you purchased for that price have a monitor on it so you know how far etc. that you did? I am wanting an Elliptical Machine so bad but they are so expensive. Anyone's thoughts on this would be great.
i think that an elliptical is WAY better but like U i cant afford one! I do like this alot, got it at walmart for 92 bucks! the leg/foot part glides where as doesnt an elliptical do more of an up/down motion like stairs?? Well i think the gazelle edge is worth almost 100 bucks and yes it does have a montior that shows distance, speed, calories burned, and time! Its a good cheap choice! My kids use it as well.. Regina
I have had mine (the under $100. one-k-mart) for more than a year. I leave it up in a dining room corner except if I know people with children are coming then I fold it up--they drive thier parents nuts trying to get on it:) ! I know why though --it is fun!
I use it for 30 - 40 minutes on rain/snow days when I can't get out and walk the dogs. I try to use it instead of just sitting on my kester when watching tv most days of the week. It is 'funner' than the other items that I have for under $100. that I don't use regulary......rebounder/power rider/torso trac 2/etc. (all in closets and hurts something or other with regular use)

Have you guys ever looked at Craig's list for used elliptical machines? I just did a quick check, I'm in Boston, and I found 2 for under 100 and a couple more between 300 - 400.

I too had wanted an elliptical machine for a long time, but hesitated because of the prices. But, I just kept looking on line for a good deal, and believe it or not, I bought a Proform at Sears about a year ago for a little over $200. It has all the counters (time, distance, calories, etc) and I absolutely love it. It has different resistance levels, and different programs that mix up the resistance for you throught the workout. It can be hooked to a computer for more programs set to music (never tried it, though). It is awesome!! Unfortunately, I have not used it for the last few months (moved, the kids got busy, you know all the excuses :-) Time to get back on track!! For those of you who are looking for an elliptical, keep looking, there are good deals out there from time to time.
I am bumping this back up...I am interested to know if anyone is still out there from this forum??? Or anyone new here that uses the Gazelle....I lost my first 50lbs with it...and now I am back at it again, needed a change of pace from my Gym!!!!
I got a "Hand-me-down" gazelle and wondered if it really worked. Your comments were helpful. I could only handle 10 minutes the first time (I am SO out of shape) and found that my arms were more tired that my legs. Is there any way, other than the obvious, to use this to get the most impact? Is it mostly for leg toning? Thanks for your help.
Oh, yeah...how do you count this for calorie burn? What should I use on the activity log?
I use the elliptical calorie count on light effort...to get a better leg work out, bend the knees, it looks strange, but really does work...lean back, lean forward, there are several different ways you can move your body to work different parts...
I love my Gazelle. Love, love, love it! Mine must be the deluxe version since it cost almost $300 but I can adjust the tension to make it harder as I get stronger. I rode one on vacation this summer (the Edge from Kmart, I think) and although the motion was the same as mine at home, iit was REALLY easy because there was no tension adjustment. I knew I wasn't getting as good a workout. It was fun, though!
I have rotten knees, and this is the first piece of equipment I've been able to use that hasn't hut them. After I got the knack of riding it, I started to work out with hand weights at the same time. It took a little practice, but I'm very comfortable doing that now. (Please be careful, though. If you don't have the leg movement syncronised, you could maybe fall.)
I can tell a big difference in the strength of my legs climbing stairs since using the Gazelle. I usually pop in a video or watch TV and my time is up before I know it. I try to ride 60 minutes every other day.
