Hey Guys
So im studying for exams...and pulling alot of late night cram sessions. So I get the idea to have some mixed, raw veggies as a snack (instead of chips). I ended up eating ALOT of carrots and celery, alongside with other mixed veggies n dip.
But now my stomach feels GROSS!! Like really knotted, just wanted to know if there was any reason 4 this? Was I not supposed to eat that much Veggies (I ate an entire bag of baby carrots...almost 1Lb, and some red peppers/celery/cucumbers, etc)
Personally, im sure its healthy.., but maybe next time...I'll grab the pringles ![]()

It is perfectly healthy to eat that much vegetables, however, if you are not used to consuming that quantity of fiber it can upset your stomach. If your body hasn't been used to very much fiber it might be something you have to work up to gradually.
i agree with cbullock; it's probably the fiber that gave you an upset stomach. scraping out your insides and all that :P your body gradually gets used to eating fiber after awhile (i myself have like 60g+ per day without trying) and then the stomachaches will stop, but make sure that if you're eating more fiber to drink more water.
wow, jane. graphic.
I eat a bunch load a day.. along with grapes.
it's an addiction . :O

Eat over a pound of anything and you're going to feel pretty sick. My favourite remedy for overeating is a slice of lemon steeped in a tall glass of hot water. Drink a couple of those before you go to bed and you'll dump the dump to end all dumps in the morning!
Nah, I eat around a couple of pounds of veggies a day with no problems (and I am pretty small). Some veggies just weigh a lot more than others. A single tomato could weigh a half a pound all by itself.
And what sort of dip are you eating? Did you consume a large quantity of that, too?
I have that same problem when i eat a lot of carrots. I'm not sure what causes it but that feeling you are talking about sucks! I eat a lot of fiber so i don't think that's the problem.
Hey thanks guys..much appreciated.
Yeah I think it was the carrots that did it for me..maybe it was just the over indulgence, b/c Im sure too much of anything will cause an upset stomach. But it could have been the fibre, though I didn't know carrots had that much..good to know :)
Umm..I think the dip was hummus or something...It may have been ranch..if so maybe lactose intolerance from the cream? Hmm not sure.
gi-jane "you'll dump the dump to end all dumps in the morning!" best quote of the year lmao!!! :D
What you are feeling is some much needed fiber cleaning out you digestive track. Sure 1lbs is a bit much to start off on, but it does not take long for your system to adjust. Just give it time.
i eat 2-3 kg of vegetables each day lol thats too many:)
i get like that at times too...but i need stuff to munch on throughout the day... what i do is cut stuff up very small so i feel like i'm eating more than i am.... and i mix in a lot of fruit into my veggie snack to ensure that my blood sugar stays up (my pressure drops easily and dizzy spells are never fun).
Another option is munching on dried fruits - they're a fun snack and dont bother my stomach as much (plus i dont have to get up every 5 minutes to pee).
i did that once, eat a whole bag of baby carrots while pulling an all-nighter! staying up the whole night makes me feel nasty anyway, so i've never experienced discomfort from snacking on too much veggies. I'm pulling an all-nighter as we speak.... (and procrastinating waaaaaay too much) and i pull an average of 15-20 all-nighters per semester. I know, it's crazy, but that's how I cope with college. Sometimes I would eat tons of cereal (bleah), which makes me feel more sluggish then snacking on veggies and fruit. So in your case, I'm guessing it's the dip. Try eating carrots without any dips! carrots are relatively high in sugar compared to other veggies, so that should give you enough energy to last till the morning.
sometimes when i eat too many carrots i get a weird sick feeling too .. but it only happens with carrots! weird.
My stomach FEELS EXACTLY THE SAME WAY AS YOURS but I would never go for the pringles... your stomach is probably reacting to all the fiber and it trying to digest it... that's what mine is trying to do, and I am hoping it can FINISH PRETTY SOON because this feeling does NOT MAKE ME FEEL THE LEAST BIT attractive! ha ha!
