What are the top 10 best fishes out there?
To eat? In your opinion?
All I've eating are cod and salmon.. I would want try more :/
It depends where you live as to what is available. Trout has a lovely delicate flavour and texture as do flat fish such as sole and skate. Haddock, coley & pollock are similar to cod. Fresh tuna steaks are completely different to the canned stuff... a very firm texture and strong flavour. Alternative oily fish are things like sardines, herring and mackerel - more strong flavours. And then there are all the smoked fish... different flavours all together.
If you have a fishmonger nearby or a good supermarket with a decent fish counter, ask them about the fish on offer. They're usually only too pleased to talk to you about how to cook things and what they go well with. Enjoy!
In no particular order, the fish that I like to eat are:
-Salmon
-Mahi mahi
-Grouper
-Tuna
-Flounder
-Trout
And some shellfish:
-shrimp
-lobster
-scallops
-oysters
The best fish to eat is the one that is the freshest. For me that usually means lake trout, golden trout or whitefish. If it smells fishy, or the skin looks dried out, or the store says its over 2 days old, I pass it up.
My personal favorite is tilapia. I'm sure fresh is best, but it's pretty good from the frozen section as well (not to mention cheaper!) I like to sprinkle it with lemon pepper and pop it in the oven for a few minutes. Yummo!
Being from the Chesapeake Bay area, I love Rockfish (Stripped bass) sprinkled with Old Bay Seasoning and broiled for about 7 mins.
I love Tilapia and Red Snapper! Mmmmm. :)

I do the same with Tilapia except I squeeze lemon juice on it first. Isn't Old Bay a wonderful thing? I have many friends from other places that expect me to bring them a supply of Old Bay when I visit.

Oh man!!! Home cooked Tilapia with lemon & pepper is one of the things I actually miss about eating meat! YUMMM!!!!!
Sardines all the way. Oh, and gurnard! I really like gurnard. Salmon, too.
I totally agree with gi-jane on looking for a local fishmonger. Do try asking about sustainability, some kinds of fish are horribly overcaught. I personally love fish, so I'd rather it be around for a long time yet than not! :x
In addition to sustainability, you might also want to consider the mercury content in the fish. For example, you don't want to be eating 4 ounces of albacore tuna or swordfish every day of the week.
My favorite seafood are:
- salmon
- trout
- butterfish
- jellyfish
- eel
- sardines
- crawfish
- crab
- lobster
- oysters
- scallops
- clam
