Top 5 pet peeves!
What are the top 5 things that you really struggle to tolerate..
- Bogey eating (especially by adults)
- Spitting, hacking it up from the back of the throat
- biting your cutlery
- eating with your mouth open
- someone who contradicts everything you say
Oh fun times!
- Talking to me when I'm sleepy and talking back takes effort.
- People commenting about how my hobbies don't seem "fun" and i need to try theirs.
- Anybody that argues a point I made with "Well I have a friend that....."
- When people touch my stuff when I'm not home. (I have 2 room mates)
- People who like any Red Alert game over StarCraft. :P
I hate the spitting/throat hacking! my DH does this every )(*^(*&^& morning. *barf* (luckily I don't see the bogey eating, ewww)
People in business who don't take the time to proofread. (I more easily forgive casual correspondence, but it still gets under my skin)
People who don't know the difference between homonyms especially buy/bye/by; affect/effect; then/than GRRR; they're/their/there and your/you're
East cobber snobbers & pretentiousness (we gotta buy that $400K house because our house is only $350! You can't bring SMORES for dessert at my fancy party!)
PEOPLE WHO REFUSE TO DISCIPLINE THEIR CHILDREN AND LET THEM RUN AROUND LIKE WILD CRAZY BANSHEES

LOL! I'm a court reporting student and I'm in a trascript english class, and we were going over homonyms. Usually it annoys me when people get them wrong, but I realized that I've been getting most of my affect/effect wrongs my whole life, and am having a really hard time wrapping my brain around some of the usage. I have a test tonight with some affect/effect questions. Let's hope I do ok.
I felt like such an a** when I realized I'm not perfect at them either. But at least I can say it's only that that gets me.
The forums for a game I play is actually much more unforgiving about that sort of thing. I'll never forget after the early hassling I received for using them wrong. :P
- People scratching their crotch in front of me (with the exception of my husband if we're alone, and of course my dog)
- Slow drivers (if you're in the left lane you'd better be doing at least 10 over)
- Babies
- Lazy people (when I have to work with them)
- Ohio State Fans
- Poor usage or abuse of the English language. I hate words like ain't and ya'll. Ugh!![]()
- Crocs on adults not in the medical field.
- People who let there children act like hethens in public without doing anything.
- Girls who post things on websites like " Don't hate cause you wanna be me." or " I'm the #1 Princess Boo, Holla!". Makes me want to throw up. These people will never hold a real job. Welcome to Hollister.
- People who don't brush their kids hair. I have seen some serious debaucles in the salon. We had to pixie cut a girls hair after an hour of attempting everything humanly possible to comb it out. It looked cute, however she lost about 8 inches. I could have slapped her family; the stupid pieces of @&%^$!!! She cried until we were done. She was more beautiful and happy when she left, but scarred for life!

Second this...
Also second the putters in the fast lane...drives me NUTS (excuse the pun).
Also second those that contradict every single thing I say...equally as annoying are those people who already know something about everything you say or do and know how to say or do it better.
Third the annoying, misbehaved, and poorly groomed children.
Add...people who constantly use the words "I can't". Just do it!!!!
Also add people who leave the holiday decorations up WAY past the holiday. February is NO TIME FOR CHRISTMAS LIGHTS!!! Ugh!
Last one..people who leave the political bumper stickers on way after the election. We know Obama won. Take the sticker off.
Oops...I listed 7...I'm sure that's somebody's pet peeve...people who don't follow directions. Sorry! ![]()
PDA in front of me in a public place
People who are consistently late
People who talk to me while I'm trying to read
Moochers
People who "chat" in groups in shopping aisles and don't bother to move

People who get pissed at other people for obeying the law.
1. People who leave shopping carts in parking lots. There's almost always a coral just a few steps away. PLEASE USE IT! The carts get in the way when we're trying to park and they can do damage to cars on a windy day. Please park the cart properly!
2. People who hold up a whole line if traffic waiting for someone to unload a whole cart full of packages so they can save a coupld of steps and park closer.
3. People who pronounce the "s" in Illinois. I don't know why, but it annoys me.
4. People who talk on their cell phones when they're being waited on in a store, doctor's office, etc.
5. People who drive 10 mph below the speed limit in the fast lane. If you can't do the proper speed, pull over to the right lane so that those of us who can do the proper left lane speed!
People talking on cell phones in line at the grocery store ignoring the cashier. And People who talk and text while driving not paying attention.
Dirty people-Soap is cheap.
People who are cruel to animals or other people. People who tie dogs to dog houses in the back yard and call them pets. Stupid!
Selfish people.
Not getting my dinner on time. ![]()
- Lazy people
- Rude/inconsiderate people
- Bad grammar
- Parents who fail to control their (young) children and let them do whatever they darn well please
- Closed-minded people

so, you live nearby me in East Cobb? Look lady, I am speaking from experience!
ETA... Im also subjected to either the "southern people are idiots" and whatnot.. I'm not talking an entire region here. I'm talking about a specific group of people that I am forced to interact with. If you say you are from East Cobb I am not going to label you - unless you are rude and bitchy to me because I wear white before labor day. Its not the region - its the haughty bitches FROM that region. sheesh.
I have HAD friends with that house. I have HAD friends turn up their nose at smores and put me down because it just wasn't fancy enough.
Do you have any peeves about people telling you to bite them?
* bad grammar (only intensified since I've become an English teacher)
* close-minded people
* the men who drive the trucks around my neighborhood all morning with speakers blaring "I have tvs, I have cameras, computers blah blah" or "Buy my apples, etc"... all in Korean and all super annoying. Not everyone works a 9-5 job so if I'm sleeping at 10a, keep the crap off (esp. since it's illegal, technically)
* people who take up the entire width of the sidewalk and refuse to move when I ring my bike bell...
* people who act like my dog is a 100lb pit bull when I take her for walks... she's a 16lb, pretty small cocker spaniel.. get over it (and I least I pick up her turds unlike the people on my street who have Maltese)
hmmm
1. mean people
2. people who think one tiny little thing is the end of the world and the worst thing ever... hello just b/c you broke a friggen nail doesn't have to put you in a bad mood for the rest of the week!
3. People who say they will do something and then doen't do it!!!!
Well i guess that it!

here you go, craydiamond...
"Snarky" T-shirts that say things like "spoiled/goldigger" (when did these become virtues?), "Your boyfriend said I was good last night" (if you were his mistress, would you wear a shirt announcing it?) or ANY variation on "blonde is better". Beauty comes in all colors. Yours isn't "better".
People who, upon finding out I have rats, act like it's all gross. No, YOU'RE gross! They're beautiful!
People who converse almost entirely by yelling. And the female variation where it must be a high pitched squealing type thing.
Shrieking kids and the parents who ignore them, especially in stores and restaurants
I'm drawing a blank on the fifth, but something pisses me off everyday. Just wait.
EDIT: My fifth pet peeve is corporate dress codes! Misery!
