Now that the excitement from the holidays is over, we can finally settle in and get ready to start our new year!

This club is for people who want to set a goal for themselves in 2009, whether it be to lose weight, gain weight, tone up, tone down, be in better health, develop a better diet, or even just to learn.

BEFORE YOU GO ANY FURTHER, PLEASE DO NOT JOIN THIS CLUB IF YOU HAVE DIFFICULTY COMMITTING TO THINGS. THERE IS NO ROOM FOR QUITTERS HERE! The purpose of this club is to inspire and motivate people, and watching people drop out continually because they lose interest or tell themselves they can't do it are not good forms of encouragement.

This club will last a year ~ that's right, we're going through until 2010. You can join at any time, just make us aware of your goals. :)

THIS CLUB'S START DATE WILL BE FEBRUARY 1ST, 2009. SIGN-UPS LAST THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AS THERE IS NO SET GOAL DATE OR SET GOAL - EACH GOAL VARIES DEPENDING ON THE PERSON.

Remember, this is more than just a weight-loss club. It's a club for people who want to change their overall appearance, health and attitude.

I will be posting several times a week various exercises, recipes, and health information for people interested in learning more. If you try any of the exercises or recipes I post, let me know how you liked them! If you agree or disagree with my information, please tell me why! (Be polite and courteous, cite your sources or reasons for believing so, and don't state anything as fact unless you can back it up!)

Check-Ins will be EVERY THURSDAY. Because this is not restricted to weight-loss only, you can post whatever your current results are for whichever goals you set for yourself - i.e. "My BMI is down .07%" or "My abs are finally starting to show."

There is no common goal in this club. Just post your info and what you plan to do to have the body you want by 2010 - for instance, you can say, "Hi, I'm ______ and I want to lose/gain _____ lbs. by __/__/__."

I'll start. You can either choose to follow this format, or create your own.

Hello everyone!

My name is Iris.  I'm 5ft 4in, and currently weigh 144lbs.  I've been on this "diet" for about three weeks now, and have lost 6lbs.

My goal is to lose 14 lbs by the end of March 2009.  I hope to see more tone in my legs, arms, butt, and stomach.

I've been eating healthy, and exercising for an hour and a half each day of the week.  It's been a great feeling, getting back in "the game".  I'm working on the elliptical machine for a hour, and then I switch to weight training and stomach crunches.  I'm trying to add in some lunges, so that I can keep my butt from disappearing as well.  LOL!

If I can make my goal by March, then I have an additional goal of 10 more lbs, making me 120lbs, by July.  I'll be 27 in July, and this would be a great present to myself. LOL!

Thanks for reading, and good luck with your own goals! Laughing

Hey guys It is Amber again.......I was just checking in......I am at 266 now......so here we go....

Hello everyone! Welcome to the group! I'm glad you guys joined.

I bought a Wii Fit to motivate me to not sit around the house so much! So far it's working!

I'm still a little sick (I think I have bronchitis, and it's lingering....) but I'm feeling much better than I have been all week.

With that said, let's get started!

My current weight is 168.8. I believe I said I wanted to lose 10 pounds by March, right? I can't read the previous posts when writing this, so I can't refer to it!

I was thinking of creating a group for this club, so we could have different forums and topics and other things, and it'd be easier to get involved in discussions when they are listed out for you and the number of posts is written next to it, so you know when someone replies.

ALSO! This group (like my last one) may suddenly be moved to another forum because I believe it belongs in the Games & Challenges forum. So another benefit to creating a group would be NOT losing this page! :)

Stats

Height: 5'3"
Weight: 118

Goal for Month of February

  • Lose about 3 pounds of vanity weight (to 113-115 pounds)
  • Tone up (to the point where you can actually see my abs!)
  • Run 3 miles in 24 minutes or less
  • Stop the overeating at night from stress (I end up with >=100 grams of fiber every day...)

Plan

  • Weight train 4 days/week
  • Interval training/cardio about 5 days/week
  • Have an actual day of rest...
  • Eat at least 3 hours before sleeping
  • Limit myself to only 3 servings of cereal a day
  • Limit self to cocoa powder to only once a week
  • Stop eating at the computer...including snacks!
  • 5-6 meals/snacks throughout the day to total around 1400-1500 (burn 2000 consistently)
  • Limit food budget to less than $15 a week

I know this is kind of unhealthy since I lost my period, sort of, and am still unsure whether or not it is back to being regular, but I really do want to be back at a weight that I am comfortable with, or at least lose the tummy bulge (which will require losing at least a little weight).

My name is Suzanne and am 5'7" and am currently at 141 lbs. I wish to become 128 lbs because I am a competitive swimmer and it helps not to carry extra weight in the water.  I will hopefully be primarily losing the weight off my thighs and butt, as I am definitely a pear-shape. After that, most of my goals are mostly athletic and self-confidence based. I eat healthily and my weight is not based upon what I eat, just how much of it. I just recovered form a shoulder injury and am going back into the water, so I will have heavy exercise and adjust all my goals accordingly. The two measurements I am going on are hips-thighs, which is 35-24 (each). Besides the main body goals, I have the smaller ones, clearer skin, floss more (thus better teeth), grow out my nails (I bite at them when I get bored) and sleep more.   Good luck everyone!

Month-to-Month Goal Plan

By March 1st, I wish to weigh 135 lbs and run a mile in 10 minutes. I want to be back down at my best 100 breast time and just start getting back to all my old free and fly times.

By April 1st, I wish to weigh 130 lbs and run a mile in 8 minutes. I want to be back at my old free and fly times, work on my backstroke times, and lose 2 seconds off my 100 breast time.

By May 1st, I will be at my goal weight, 128, and will be totally athletic/self-confidence/random body parts based. In May, there is a big high school swim meet, and I really want to make the cuts by then. If that doesn't turn out the way I want it to be, my secondary goal is looking smokin' hot for prom! Besides that, reduction on all my times, reduction in my thigh size.

By June 1st, I want to be doing pushups again! I will have (hopefully) reached most or all of my goals, and it will be just weight maitenance, getting buffer and buffer, dropping time during meets, and totally flaunting my hot new bod at the beach.

By July 1st, I want to be confident that I can maintain the weight, and thus be free-er in my daily actions, not worrying about stupid stuff. I will hopefully make the cuts to get into Far Westerns and Junior Olympics.

What I'm Aiming For: Better body, better overall health, less stress, better endurance, more energy, more willpower, whiter teeth, better hair, better skin, more sleep, better nail

My Game Plan (How I Will Reach It):

  • Stop eating after 9 pm. Since I get home at 7:30, and eat dinner at about 8-8:30, and earlier is really stupid for me.
  • Smaller dinners. I end up eating too much for dinner, since my mother cooks stupendiously and I eat too fast.
  • Stay away from easy, bad food when I am stressed.
  • Stay motivated during swim practice. Don't get into a rut.
  • Stress less and make sure I always clean my face before bed.
  • Find something besides biting my nails to do during class.
  • Brush my teeth for the full 2 minutes and floss daily.

That felt really good to write down and plan out!

Hi my name is Amy and I am 5'7" and currently 142 lbs. I want to get to about 125-128. I ride horses competitively and have been trying to recover from injuries and going to school, so the working out has been slack for a year or 2. I need to get back into athlete shape and really want to work on functional fitness stuff so that I don't don't get hurt again. My first goal is to be going to yoga 5 days a week, 4 days a week and utilizing my family's trainer at least 1 time a week (I have a school obligation every other Monday, but other wise should see him on Monday and Wednsday). And of course I would like to have a flat tummy and like to look nice in my skinny jeans.

Weight Goal-loose 6lbs by March 22

Oh yes, and make my ex drool. Ah sweet vengence. LOL.

HEY EVERYONE!

Just wanted to let you all know that I created a group for this club, so please join and post in there so it is easier for us to keep track of certain topics, given that this group will cover many different aspects of health & fitness over a long period of time. :)

Okay, that link doesn't seem to work....just go to "Groups" then find the Motivation & Challenges section, and then look for the Inspiration & Self-Improvement section. I believe I'm on the second page, the title of the group is the same as the name of this forum.

This group sounds great! My name is Evelyn and I'm 5'4" and sitting at 166lbs. I would love to get down to 130-135 by the end of this year!  Being in university has taken up a lot of the time that I would usually spend exercising and so I've gained a whole lot of weight.

My first goal is to cut meat out of my diet because frankly it's beginning to make me ill and I would like to try healthier ways of getting protein and iron into my body. Exercising hopefully won't be too big of an issue because I dance four times a week (Sunday: jazz/belly dancing, Monday: modern, Wednesday: belly dancing again), but I would like to exercise more so my second goal will be to exercise every day for at least an hour.

I'm not entirely sure when I'd like to be able to reach my ultimate goal weight because I have a really screwed up metabolism, but I'll be working towards 10lbs at a time. Also I'd love to look great in my belly dancing costume in time for my town's summer dance festival!

Good luck everyone!

About Me: Hi!  I’m Kathleen!  I'm 21, a little over 5'8, 165 but used to weigh 250.  I was always the chubby kid in school but I decided to change that my senior year of high school.  Been working on it ever since =]

Goals: Weigh 145 and have completed my P90X workouts by my WDW trip in May.  Depending on how I look/feel with my results get down to 125-130 by October.  Stay that way for the rest of my life!

What I'm Aiming For: A toned body and better health.  Reach my "lost 100lbs mark".  Inspire other people to live a healthy life.

My Game Plan (How I Will Reach It):

  • Use my juicer 2x everyday at least
  • Workout daily
  • Have 75% of my diet come from fresh fruits and veggies
  • Cut down on sugary junkfoods
  • Cook 95% of my meals
  • Stop eating out of bordom
  • Have breakfast be my biggest meal of the day
  • Walk my dog everyday

My Reward: Cosmetic surgery and awesome vacation!

HEY GUYS!

Once you sign up here, please join the 2009 ~TOTAL BODY~ Makeover Group located in the Inspiration & Self Improvement section of Games & Challenges section in Groups! I won't be posting any progress or anything in here. Having a group helps keep topics more organized and since this is running for a year, it will be very confusing having it continue in here.

Thanks!  :)

Hi All-

I posted in the Group.  Ready to start again!!!

Good Luck
