Totally Bummed About Theft
I got back to the airport after a long 4 day business trip and figured out that my new GPS was taken from my vehicle! I'm so BUMMMMMMED
I'm so angry and bummed, I can feel myself going into this really low place right now. I know whoever this frigging thief was does not know me and it is not personal, but it IS PERSONAL!!!! **** ripped me OFF!! I think the GPS holder attached to the windshield tipped the thief off because I had tucked the unit away in the console. They jimmied the lock on the door. The thing about this GPS is that is was a very very special gift from 5 of my friends who chipped in and bought it for me for Christmas. I always get lost and to me this gift was priceless and I totally appreciated my friends for such a thoughtful gift.
I am just so bummed out right now, I can replace the GPS but I always have such a hard time getting past when someone violates another human being. I remember someone breaking into my house aboutg 20 years ago and stealing all the Christmas presents from under my measly little tree and I feel the same way now. I CAN"T BELIEVE HOW CRUEL AND UNUSUAL PEOPLE ARE!!!! AAARRRGGGGG!!!!
im sorry! just be glad they didnt take your car :/
That totally sucks! It would be cool if the gps system could tell you where the device is so you could hunt the guy down and go all vigilante on him like Batman. Maybe the thief can use your GPS system to locate a heart and a conscience. It could be his moral compass.
A few years ago someone broke into my car and stole all of my CDs and 1000 lira. The joke was on him though since most of the CDs were showtunes (try reselling those sucker!) and 1000 lira (my 66 cent souvenir from Italy) is perfectly useless because of the euro.
Well, I have slept now and woke up feeling still bummed but not weepy or spirally bummed anymore, if that makes sense. I didn't touch any food last night, which was my other concern.
I was thinking about claiming it on insurance but I have a $500 deductible, thanks shrinking caro. The theif popped the lock by jamming the key hole. I didn't even notice it because I used the power lock opener on my keychain. I was halfway home when I went searching for the GPS in the console and couldn't find it. My memory is getting so bad I figured, Oh I must have taken it out all together and left it on the kitchen table for this trip to avoid getting it stolen, lol.
I would be ashamed if my friends knew that it got stolen so quickly. I'm just going to have to get over this act of human incivility and go get another one. I"m past the stage of eating over it (good!) and yes, I am thankfult that it wasn't worse. I always figured I'd have a smashed window and not a tweaked door lock, I still have my vehicle, and I'm safe too.
Moogiesue, LOL! Showtunes are worth millions didn't you know!! :)
I am sooooo sorry - I know how you feel - it's not the stuff it's the principle of the whole thing. My house was broke into last April and they stole my jewelry. I didn't own expensive stuff - the most expensive thing was $25 - that was not the point. The point that was hard to get over was someone had been in MY house and TOUCHed MY stuff. Time makes it better but I still feel betrayed even though I know it was a random act.
I'm sorry you are going through this.
I'm sorry about the GPS. I am glad you are ok though.
My entire patio set was stolen out of my backyard last summer. I entertain in my yard quite a bit during nice weather and my patio set was necessary for that purpose. Plus it was a great price find...very comfortable and modest looking and I was so upset. I still get upset as I haven't been able to replace it yet.
A neighbor of mine told me that is what I get for having nice things. He said I should've bought something used and worn so nobody would want it. That is not what I wanted to hear. That does not give someone the right to steal.
