how to I track this work out on cc?
This morning (some how amazingly I woke up early and worked out I normally have to do it at night) I did 30min riding exercise bike vigerously. While I rode I did some weight training 4 sets of 12 bicep curls, tricep extention, shoulder lifts, butterflys plus a couple I don't know the exact name of. In between each weight lift set I would "mountain climb" on the bike for 30 sec, then sprint for 30 sec and I also did side crunches...all this while pedeling.
Then for 10 minutes I alternated running in place with running up and down steps.
Is this circuit training? Or do I log in the riding, running, weights separately?
bump...sorry just hoping to get some advice
(Oh, sorry for not getting back to you sooner) Hmm, I'm not quite sure either, but I think circuit training would be a reasonable approximation.
Actually I'd say High-intensity circuit training but we don't have that category in the list, so circuit training it is ;)
Thanks Melkor, I guess I was hoping to have burned more than the 266 cal that cc conciders it. Last night I did 58min Jillian Michaels Boost Metabolism. I wanted to quit a couple times but pushed and happily made it through. One of the best work outs I've ever done my entire adult workout history (and I used to have a much higher tolarance in my 20's)I have that logged as circuit training too. CC shows it as a 386cal burn.
I see some on this site burning 500, 600 even 1000 doing various workouts. Why can't I do this? I realize my time maybe more limited (normally 30-40mins for cardio), and my equipment is limited to what I have at home (and exercise bike, a jump rope, my house steps and my feet).
Glad you think what I did was high intesity too because I often wonder if what I do is high intensity. I've boosted my cardio with all intervals now (instead of just riding or running alone for 30min)
I LOVE the Jillian Michaels books! I don't have that book yet, but I have Making the Cut and I definately want to quit many times during the circuits, but afterwards am SO happy I did not! I'm more sore from 5 of her circuits than running or swimming for an hour.
Oh, and I'd say circuit. Since you're doing weights and cardio you're burning more at the same time.
