elliptical but same difference =)  I tend to watch tv or just strap on my ipod and go but if for some reason it's early or nothing is on I'll make my list for the day of what needs to get done, or debate the menu for the next week or get my grocery list together.  Stuff like that.  Seems to keep me going better then just going on like a mindless zombie lol

I listen to audiobooks on my mp3 player. I don't know what I'd do without it while I'm walking my dog.

Stationary bike for me, sometimes I watch TV, sometimes I listen to audio books, sometimes I watch True Blood and Fire Fly repeats.  If I really wanna get my heart rate up I put Lil Jon on my itunes and go go go !

I try not to think whilst I am on that bike..if I get to thinking it seems to make everything harder and I FEEL the time going by..but if I park my brain beside the bike the time goes quicker and I can go faster ! Wink

TV if there is something interesting. I also down load podcasts from NPR for Fresh Air..  They are usually 1 hour and interesting that I become engrossed in that. I also do intervals on the treadmill which also helps with the boredom - I vary speed and incline. To simulate outside you should be @ 1% incline BTW.

I am going through a bit of a rough patch in life at the moment, so I try and use my treadmill time to just sort my head out and try and visualise that every 5 more minutes I do I'm getting rid of all that stress and will get more of an endorphin high once I'm done. I just keep telling myself, the harder you exercise the better you'll feel once you're done. It keeps me going!

I listen to Science Friday or Sound Medicine - NPR free podcasts.  It's the perfect time to learn something new! And, yes, I am a complete dork :)

I am on my treadmill 6 days a week and I either watch TV...listen to the stereo...lately my mind has been on my pending divorce and the challenges of life...

don't laugh but I like to fantasize when I run, about silly things like dancing in a club with my bf to the song I'm listening to or running with a friend on a park while the song is being played on loudspeakers or....winning a marathon and having my dad be proud and watching me on the stands. Sometimes I find that having creative ideas helps me push myself harder.

I think about being done...

When I'm on the treadmill, I do interval training... so I'm always thinking about when I need to speed up or slow down.

When I'm on the elliptical, I just think about when it'll be over with...because doing steady cardio is boring to me. =(

In general, I workout with my boyfriend. He always watches ESPN in the morning so I just listen to it in the background.

My treadmill has a built-in TV so I usually watch it while running.  Either that or I have a portable DVD player and I watch my recorded soap opera or movies on that.

Treadmill time flies for me when I'm envisioning skinny scenarios in my head.  Going to the high school reunion looking hot, seeing an old boyfriend and making him drool, etc.  It's fun and it's very motivating.  I also have to have good music.

When I'm on a machine, I think about how hard it is and how much time I have to go still--so I don't "do" machines! And if I'm on a track, I think about my breathing and the lap number I'm on, kind of like a mantra, to make the time go faster. When I'm outside, I don't have to think about anything, time just seems to fly, so that is always my preference!

Amen! Man, I can think of nothing else. I try to watch a DVD or listen to my iPod, but I just can't wait to be done with it...

omg, lol thats what i do! i think of goin to a club in a hot outfit and dancing... walking past a group of guys who cant stop staring... crap like that. that usually works but at times i catch myself looking at the clock and being like "ugh! only 3 minutes went by!" im tryin to make a good playlist on my ipod to keep my motivated but i usually change the songs alot which is distracting...

yours and alle0299 ideas sound interesting! that would definately keep me from staring at the clock. how do you find/get them?

I read some garbage magazine, like People, and it passes the time. Lately, I've been running intervals so I keep my focus on the time so I know when the adjust the speed.

today while I was on the treadmill I started to get tired and considered stopping, but then i reminded myself of how good it feels to be freely moving about instead of sitting at my desk at work.  it really helped.

On the treadmill....I think about Robson Green and the bad bad things i would love to do to him.

MmMmmm.....Robson Green. *sigh*Kiss
