How do you treat yourself?

Quote  |  Reply
Say you finish the day off with a shortage of 200-300 calories. You have all of your required vitamins, calcium, protein, iron, fiber, etc. How do you spend those calories? Is it bad to spend these on things like chocolate once in a while?

I like to have wine when I have extra cals at night. That or popcorn.

Beef jerky, or a small bit of french fries or onion rings. 300 calories is a lot of beef jerky, and I love it.

dark chocolate and a few dried cranberries!
sugar free icecream sandwich or a bowl of kashi golean, banana and yogurt.
light beer, maybe a 100 calorie pack oreos or chips ahoy. 1 tbsp of peanut butter.... not all of these at once :) just one every once in a while :)
I don't' see anything wrong with chocolate once in a while. That is the great thing about eating the right stuff... with worse options, moderation is key! Enjoy what you'd like now and again, just don't live off of it :)
weight watchers cookies'n'cream sundes.  or a skinny cow
I'm 200 under my goal calories today so I treat me with.. nothing!

Because I was yesterday 200 cals over my goal. It's that easy or should I say as easy as you make it for yourself. I look at the calories I eat in the big picture, if my week ends and I have an average of the calorie intake a day that I should have, then everything is allright.

You know that when the week is going to end, you automatically eat/drink more that adds to your calorie count. it's good to keep it lower from monday - friday so you have some reserves for whatever you will do at the weekend ;)
If I'm over 1200 I don't eat more than I need, seeing as I'm trying to stick to 1300, and sometimes I go over. But if I'm under 1200 and I'm not hungry, I usually go for some raw almonds and a square of really dark chocolate. It's a really good snack, and high-calorie, so it's easy to reach my daily requirement.
today i'm planning on treating myself with seedless watermelon, yum (as long as my mom remembers to cut it tonight). but i usually will have a 100 calorie pack, maybe some fruit, low sugar or slow-churned ice cream/frozen yogurt, etc.

also, when my breakfast falls low on calories (i don't usually plan in advance), then i'll have half of a cookie (since my mom buys packs from the store- they're pretty good!).
I'll treat myself to 2 of the small sized candy bars (you know, the kind you give out to kids at Halloween - they each have about 2 bites to them).  Chocolate is my weakness.

Yoplait Fat free yogurt - Boston cream pie or Key lime pie

Smart ones dessert- Key lime pie or cookie dough sundae

or a Mango. I LOVE the mango.;)
Today I used my leftover cals for an apple that I sliced, sprinkled cinnamon and Splenda on, and nuked for a couple of minutes.  That was my substitute for not eating the apple empanada I'd really wanted.  The empanada would've put me over on cals, where the nuked apple kept me on track, so it's all good ^_^ .
A cup of ice cream, whether full fat or whatever else.  There's a satisfying 300 calories for you.

Life is short enough, why waste 300 calories nibbling leaves?
well knowing that i have a few hundread calories left at the end of the day,i save them all up in the week until saturday so i could treat myself to a takeaway or pizza
i will usually treat myself to some f.f. ice cream, peanut sandwich, few low fat cookies, granola bar. sometimes i dont have anything, especially if i am full. i try to limit my sweet treats to 2-3x per week.
Small bowl of fat free cool whip with a little chocolate sauce [ about 50 calories, feelings like eating a sundae!] or just the powder from a fat free, no sugar hot chocolate packet [20 calories and gets rid of my chocolate craving.]

A really nice treat is almonds, dried mango, and cranberries together in a sort of trail mix. It sounds weird, but it's great!
I had 300 calories left last night cuz I skipped lunch but I just was happy to get throught the day and went to bed.  I wasn't hungry so I didn't feel the need to use them.  I hope this happens alot!
i hardly ever have leftover calories, but when i do, i try to conditio myself to aim for an extra piece of fruit instead of snacks.

im not ready for the snacks yet =/
 I go with a mix of mixed nuts (14g), sunflower seeds (8g) & craisins (10g) for a tasty < 200 calorie snack.
