"Trend" weight and the graph

Quote  |  Reply

I'm at the end of my first (successful!) week. So, I'm still figuring out all the fun tools on this site.

When I entered my new weight, next to it, it says "trend" with another number.

What the heck is that? Is that where I'm supposed to be?

And the graph, why two lines? The blue on, I see, is actuall weight loss. Is the green one "trend"?

Yeah!! I was wondering that too...
It's an average of your previously entered weights (up to the past 30 days).

The blue line on your weight graph represents your actual daily weight (what you input based on your scales reading), and the green line on your weight graph is a moving average trendline.

The trend number you see on your chart is an average of your last 10 weights which you inputted. The more frequently you input your data (once a day as opposed to once a week or less) the more accurate the trend data will be.

Generally speaking, ff the trend is going up it shows you are gaining (on average), if it is going down it shows you are losing, if it is the same you are plateauing or maintaining.

Thanks for explaining the trend line.  I thought that was what it was doing but it is so far off from my other line, I started to wonder!

Yoho

It's a nice feature because it smooths out all those little fluctuations, that can drive you nuts if you pay too much attention to them, and shows you your real progress over time.
