I've heard that drinking lots of water and keeping your skin moisturized helps! Cellulite is the WORST. Oh! And get a tan!
"Cellulite" is caused by subcutaneous fat (under the skin). There are strands of connective tissue that hold your skin on. In some areas of the body, the subcutaneous fat can cause the skin to "poof" out in between these strands, sort of like a quilt. You can get rid of the fat the same way you get rid of any other fat. The bad part is, it doesn't take much fat to create the lumpy appearance in some areas, so it can be hard to lose enough to hide it. Toning up the muscles in the area will also help. The remedies sold on TV are not likely to do anything for it, but they will remove pounds from your wallet.
^ True ^

Sad that nothing else is true but non-the-less, shavenyak is true.  I think that is the most embarrsing part of my body!  I can deal with the alien like stretched marks, I can deal with being flabby, but the cellulite just makes me want to cry LOL  --sumi
heres some info:

it can be from multiple things.
even birth conrtol can cause it.
You can't get rid of cellulite. Even super skinny people have it. MOST women do; in fact, more do than don't. I really don't see why it's all that embarrassing if MOST people have it. Nobody cares that you have it because they have it too! :P I'll tell you what is a HUGE factor -- I wonder if it's not the ONLY factor -- HEREDITY! I've been blessed with it. I could care less. OH! And SPEAKING of models, THEY have it too. Victoria Secret models? They've got it! I have NEVER EVER heard anybody comment on anyone else's cellulite. To think that anybody is paying THAT much attention to you is absurb. If you've got a bf or husband, well then he loves you just the way you are! If he doesn't like your cellulite, then get rid of him. By the way, men have it too, as well as STRECH marks. I love it! lol :)

One final thought: IF there was a "cure" or "remedy" we'd hear about it on the NATIONAL NEWS! So save your money and grief!

Hey, if your cellulite is on your thighs and butt (where most people get it) then running or doing squats/lunges will help a LOT to firm up those areas. Plus, you can use a firming lotion, but don't waste your money on the expensive ones, buy the Suave brand because it works just as well and you get a huge bottle for really cheap. Together that can help... it won't be 100% gone necessarily but it'll reduce it.
I had/have some pretty noticeable cellilite on my thighs and bottom but i noticed just like sleepoline that increasing my water and getting a tan helped - you'd be surprised how much getting a tan can boost the confidence in you appearance - If you dont like the beds try a spray tan or self tanning lotions - spring and summer are on their way.

Also Working on my fat los & toning has helped minimize there appearance but the tan really has done well for the cellulite not to mention the stretch marks - best wishes
Haha my hubby is skinny and has stretch marks all over his butt LOL
Cellulite is called Adipose tissue, which is large, tightly packed fat cells. You cannot get rid of it but you can decrease its size and appearance. It short of balloons up, which is why it looks like "cottage cheese" . I was able to minimize the the appearence of mine by doing step-aerobics.
I would say masage and moisturize...Exercise and tone your body as well can help. I am worried about cellulite, and loose skin and fat... jsut gotta keep workign out and see what happens...I think you can minimize the aperace with hydration and such.
I just think of them as bum dimples

:)
IT is a lie that you cannot get rid of celulite. Youn CAN! I am only 19 but i have been suffering fromt he effects of cellulight for about 5 years.

Two months ago i heard about that fab diet where you drink 12 glasses of water mixed with 2 tbs of lemon juice and 2tbs of maple surop. I didnt want to go on this diet becuase i knew that it is not a healhy diet, but i desided to drink about 6 bottles of this a day as well as eating my regular diet.

I didnt end up loosing any weight but i did notice differences in my body. My skin seemed smoother and the most dramatic effect was that my CELLULITE COMPLETELY DISSAPEARED!

Lemon juice and maple surop have plenty of vitamins. Also teh water has been known for helping to reduce cellulite. I am so happy with my body now and i am not ashamed to wear my bathing suit bottoms at teh beach anymore.
If that was true, it would be all over the headlines. Either you didn't really have cellulite to begin with or it's an illusion. There is NO WAY that silly drink is going to do anything.
Just because something works doesnt mean it will be ALL over the media. If you go to your doctor and ask what you shoudl do about your cellulitethey will tell you that there isn't a cure, but you can reduce it with exercise and maybe he/she will recomend a certain cream.

If you go to a naturalpath and ask them what to do about cellulite they might tell you what vitamins might be missing in your diet, and they will tell you to drink water and get be active.

Have u ever seen the from page of the newspaper saying "BANANAS-A PROVEN CURE FOR WARTS" or "SKIP YOUR SHOTS- TAKE OREGANO OIL TO BOOST UR EMUNE SYSTEM".....no. there are many things out there that work but are not advertised.

I am not stupid and i wasn't imagining my cellulite. Something worked for me and i desided to share it. Maple surop contains over a douzen different vitamins; Zinc, calcium, and iron to name a few. Lemon juice is loaded with vitamin C. Doesn't sounds so much like a silly drink. Sure you could just take a multivitamin and drink 8 glasses of water a day (im sure this would reduce cellulite too). But for a person like me who is not a very committed water drinker, this juice was a good solution for me. It has been proven that Cellulite is a sign of an unhealthy diet and lifestyle. Sure it is also hereditary but that doenst mean it is impossible to get rid of /reduce.
ok, i got rid of cellulite - in no longer than two weeks and it's not back and i'm a pear so i'm probably bound to have cellullite. massage massage massage - that's what helped me + treadmill + stair steeper + i do drink a lot of water (maybe even too much - 4ltr per day)

first i used a massage belt and the ceelulite becam unvivisble but when i squeezed my tigh it appeared so i got pro sessions and after 3 even this is gone.

dunno, maybe results not typical... :)

and i agree with the ppl who said cellulite is a very very common thing and even skinny women have it, esp at certain age, but even skinny teens do. personally i first noticed my cellulite at about 14, now i'm 25, 5'51/2, 135lbs

First- I agree, most everybody has it.  Most everybody feels exactly the same way about it (self-conscious and wanna get rid of it) but to say that people don't make comments about it is a little untrue.

I have very fond memories of hearing the military guys in my unit talk about their girlfriends, mothers, or whatever (yeah, they are dogs.) and their "golfball" issues.  Talk about awkward...

...then it's happened to me.  I got this really silky gown for a dance I was going to and my friends (in the very sincerest sense of the word) told me ever so gently that I might need some spandex/full cut panties.  They meant it in the nicest way- and yeah it did sting- but I'm just glad I didn't strut out onto the dancefloor thinking I was Miss Thing not knowing everybody was checking out my bumpy butt.  Don't get me wrong- I love my butt bumpy and all... but that would have made my night a little less than perfect.

I've never been "overweight"... I'm 5'11' and at one point, I was at one point, about 160 pounds or so... I was playing college basketball... in great shape..but man, I had cellulite.... BUT..... I was also drinking on occasion, and eating WHATEVER I want ( i seriously didnt even think twice about what I ate, but then again, I was a college athlete). I also surfed- and I would go without shorts. I had to have my lower butt/upper legs covered, even if I was confident in a bathing suit...

Anyways... I've heard Cellulite is incurable.... I disagree... only because... now I am 139lbs. I run and drink lots of water... avoid sugar and alcohol... and my cellulite is pretty much gone. So it's possible... you just obviously have to make some changes! :-)
Google " body brushing" and/or T-Tap.
It's a really old remedy and it won't cost you more than a few minutes a day and a soft bristle brush. It also helps with loose skin.
