True confessions

Okay, time for true confessions.  I seriously started trying to lose weight when I hit 205 pounds.  If I were 6'4" tall, this would be fine.  But I am 5'4".  In December 2005 I knew I had to stop eating so much.  In January I got rid of major stress---I retired.  Hooray! Now I had time to exercise and count calories.  I lost about 40 pounds relatively easy by Dec. 2006.  Since then I have fluctuated between 175-165.

In 2007 I put all dieting and exercising mostly on hold as my mother was diagnosed with lung cancer stage IV.  After she passed away it took me a while to get my head together again and I was back up to 175.

Skip to January 2009 and I am down to 168.  Whoopee. It finally dawns on me that exercising three days a week and "watching" what I eat was not working.  So in the last week of April I joined this site again and started keeping track of EVERYTHING I put into my mouth.  I was surprised because I thought I was not eating as much.  New resolution:  Count calories to eat under 1500 a day.

When I weighed in last month, I had lost 2 whole pounds.  I am now at 165 officially.  When I weigh at home I fluctuate between 162 -164.  Lordy this is hard. And I wonder why I keep trying.  I am 65 and will not live forever.  Maybe I should just enjoy eating and get fat again!

OK... So I started CC 4 years ago.  I was 160 and 5'3.  I started because I honestly had no idea that I had gotten so heavy.  I saw a picture and really didn't recognize myself.  I lost 30 pounds right away (and by that I mean from December to August).  Since then, I have gone to law school, had knee surgery (accident related) and studied and passed the Florida Bar.  I have gained and lost the 10 pounds that I need to lose now about 12 times.  I am 5'3, 132, and I wear a 4 in jeans.  I work out 5 to 6 days a week.  I eat pretty healthy.  But, I seem to be gaining. (2 pounds in the last month) so I am back to counting every morsel again.  lucky me.
