GOOD FOR YOU!
It's not easy to quit and you should be WAY proud of yourself. Now you can focus that incredible will power of yours on getting your body healthy with good nutrition. :)
YAY!! i'm so happy for you! this is the best thing you can possibly do for yourself ;)
DON'T GO BACK soglialoro! please please please!
So, how do you feel? My dad is a long time smoker and constantly says he's going to quit. I smoked for 10 years and feel way better.
Congratulations! Word of advice: Don't even take one drag! It can lead to more.
Yay you!
Congrats! I gained when I quite too, so I replaced it with running, it's one of the best ways to drop weight and it's cheap. And hard cardio is a constant reminder that smoking is BAD.
I also still (a year and a half later) budget for smokes, but spend it at Sephora on makeup and fancy body creams....lol. Makes me feel good.

WAY TO GO! Congratulations! My fiance and I quit smoking Saturday, so, 3 days in and a lifetime to go! But the crazy thing is, we traded the Marlboros for a Harley. What we smoked each month easily covers the bike note and insurance...So we don't really have the option to buy any and it's hard to smoke without cigarettes, so...we'll see how this logic of ours works for quitting.
Congrats! I know how hard it is because I am coming up on being one year smoke free! My last cigarette was on 12/05/07 so I've got a little over two weeks to go. Don't worry about the weight gain...you'll lose it. I gained 30 lbs when I quit and since getting serious at CC I've lost 35. If you can quit smoking you can lose the weight, trust me!
Congrats. I quit a few months ago as well, and put on about 30 pounds, but it's starting to come off slowly and the payoffs of quitting make it worthwhile. Cholesterol, however, is another issue. Try supplementing with flax seed, or fish oil capsules (you can get these in odor free formulas now that are highly effective). They will raise your HDL levels, and at the same time help control your LDL, or bad cholesterol levels. Remember when taking those, and counting calories though that it's still a fat, and either type of capsule is generally 30 to 100 calories depending upon the dosage. Regular exercise and proper diet will help regulate your cholesterol as well. Good Luck!!!
Good job! That's awesome :D Stay strong!

It depends..
I have a harder time with shortness of breath now.. which is sooo strange but I think its because of my body going through withdraw and ridding itself of yuckyness..The first week was easy.. the second week sucked because the 1st week i stayed away from everyone.. the second week matt and i went out and it was hard...
I wont take a drag.. I have been a smoke since i was 15... 7 years and i will never smoke agan.

PROMISE ME you mean that... I am already up 10 pounds.. and I am starting to get sad..
Hey
GOOD JOB!!! Congrats on quitting smoking. I myself quit almost a year and a half ago (07/01/2007) and have never felt better. I've been nagging my partner to quit tooo, with little success so far.
But even still a few tips....especially since your past the first 14 days of hell..
- I agree with Trendstudent when she sez dont even take one drag...it will ruin everything you worked for.
- As weird as it seems, I did not gain weight after quitting, as a matter of fact..i losT! I needed to find a new habbit..so I took up running and cardio as my way of making up for lost lungs. After a few months of running, I dropped like 20lbs! So I had to change my diet in order to be at an average weight...and I cut back on toooo muhc cardio. So whatever your fix is: Find a new Healthy habbit.
So now my next step is to slowly quit the things I find addictive, next one is coffee!
CONGRATS. I am sure you feel so much healthier. Running has helped me build up my lungs.
I don't know what to classify myself as. I used to smoke a lot, then a little, then a lot then not so much. My last bought pack was in Sept and even then I didn't even smoke them really. Would take 2 puffs and ash it. last time I smoked was with friends at a bar but I didn't buy and only had 1 1/2.
So now I don't smoke at all because I don't buy them. It was a waste of money when I didn't smoke the whole cig. I will smoke if I go out for drinks but that is a REALLY RARE occasion and I'd have to bum one
I guess I am an "rare occasion" smoker/non smoker.I sometimes crave it (especially when in traffic) and get the inkling to buy a pack but then I'd be stuck with a pack that I would have to hide in my car from the BF and have to have all these sneaky ways about smoking etc. Seems better to just not buy a pack and chew a piece of gum.
