I am trying to avoid soy protein, but I love soy crisps - in fact, I just ate a whole bag of them

Supposedly, soy protein can cause thyroid misfunction, and although there is no scientific evidence to prove this, I would rather not risk altering the metabolism.

The thing is, I absolutely love [Genisoy] soy crisps, and just don't know what to do with myself! One serving has 7 grams of soy protein... meaning I had about 15g... how bad do you think the damage is? Are soy crisps as bad in terms of soy content as ... tofu, or soy milk?

Also, has anyone else heard anything about soy's affect on thyroid function, and does anyone know of any evidence?

Thanks.

You should only be concerned if you have hormone problems. I've had to avoid too much soy when I was on Risperdal because of how the two affected hormones.

very helpful article!

Fermented Soy protien is also very good, all the tyspin inhinitors and phytic acid is destoryed, also when its cooked, even more of it is destoryed. So dont worry.

As long as you properly prepare your grains, beans and soy, theres no issues.
