Trying to change my focis to stay motivated
I am trying to lose weight, but I am one to get easily discouraged. I am trying to focus on getting healthy and obsess so much on the weight loss.
I have been making healthier food choices, my husband and I joined a gym and go work out (hard) for 1 1/2- 2 hours at least 5 days a week. I just want to see some progress in my WEIGHT!!! Is that to much to ask???.
I have in all fairness lost 10 lbs in about month and a half. I am just trying so hard not to get discouraged and eat a box of cookies...
Does any one else feel this way?

10lbs in 6 weeks is great progress. Don't be so hard on yourself. Make your healthy lifestyle enjoyable but build in some flexibility A cookie here and there is a legitimate part of a healthy diet so find room in your diet to include one from time to time. A box of cookies is probably not a good idea but you'll eat them if you ban cookies all together.
If your healthy food choices are boring or repetitive then you'll find junk more attractive. So this week get out the recipe books and get some inspiration to try new foods and keep the diet as delicious and interesting as possible. Same goes for the exercise. As well as working out, how about more relaxing forms of exercise.... you and husband trying dancing, perhaps, going roller-skating or taking some long walks in the countryside? Gyms aren't the be all and end all.
Acheiving a healthy lifestyle is about finding a happy balance that you can see yourself doing FOR LIFE... you're unlikely to want to subject yourself to deprivation and punishing exercise for life.

I would love to lose 10 pounds in the next 6 weeks...oh how lovely that would be.
It sounds like you're doing great. If you're constantly feeling the need to have sugar, cookies, etc - it may be best just to let yourself have one (and keep yourself to one), so you don't feel like you're depriving yourself.
Keep up the good work!!!!!
