This has been the 3rd time I tried to quit smoking! But I can feel it deep down that this time it is going to work. I have the support of my two best friends at work quitting with me and the help of a wonderful pill called Chantex! Ha-ha! If you havent triend Chantex before you should! Shortly after my first week of taking it the want to smoke just went away! I couldn't believe it! The last thing I had to tackle was changing my daily routine so that I didnt want to smoke when I usually did. Its been 3 weeks since I started and I feel great! Good to all of you out there!
Hi savavvanahlittle!
Don't feel bad for trying to quit several times. I have quit AT LEAST 7 times!!! I have smoked for many, many years. Nevertheless, I have quit from anywhere to a couple of days to 9 months when I was pregnant with my 2nd son. I just look at it like each time I quit was excellent practice for the "permanent" quit, which I believe is this time. I too am taking chantix, which for me is a "miracle medication". In the past I have tried all types of nicotine replacement, which didn't work very succesfully. It's amazing how the desire to smoke has vanished, with the exception of a few times like after I eat, or when I feel a little stressed. I handle those occasions with a few deep breaths or I go take a walk.. I too have a good support network. My husband quit a few years ago, and my 22 year old son is quitting with me. It is sooo nice not to be doing this alone!!! Anyway, good luck with your quit!!!

I support the Chantix as well. I have been smoking most of my life and do to health and economical reasons I decided to give quitting another try. I really did not even want to. Anyway, I have quit now for three months and owe it to chantix. There is a lot of negative talk about it out there but i can say as far as I go. It's the best thing out there. I did use it once before but stoped taking it and just started back smoking but this time I am dedicated to taking the entire course of it and I think I have it licked now. I have a hard time remembering to take it now because I don't think about either smoking or taking the medicine, but I am going to take every one and I think thats the best advise is not to stop taking it even though you no longer even desire to smoke. Once again, If you want to quit, use Chantix, it works........
