Hi, I'm 21 and am currently unsatisifed with my weight. I am 6' and wigh 230 pounds. I would like to weight 190.  I know some of my weight is musicle (I'm one of those strong and fat guys), but I know most of it is fat.  I figured I'd just make a thread to introduce myself.

Hi :)

I'm new as well. I'm 18 & i weigh around 182lbs. I'm hoping to lose 32lbs by the end of all this. It's nice to meet you. Smile I hope you reach your goal !

Hi Solar 87!  Its a long road, so dont let yourself get discouraged.  It takes consistency, so continue to find avenues of motivating yourself.  You can do it!!  I would recommend getting on bodyspace.bodybuilding.com its a community of people who want fitness to be apart of their life.  Some are just getting started and some have been doing it for years - the think i like about it is everyone is there to help encourage and motivate each other.  You can do it man!

Hey guys...I'm in the same boat as the TC.  I'm 5'11 and 240...down 13lbs in a month.  My goal weight is 200, so 40 to go.

Best advice is to stay around 2k calories and work out/run at least 4 days a week.  You'll be suprised when you start counting calories...some things are really bad that don't seem to be (hotdogs!).

I have to disagree; there's nothing "really bad" about hot dogs, and no reason to cut things out of your diet that you like, including hot dogs.  I've lost 47 pounds in less than 8 months, and I eat 2 fully-loaded hot dogs every 2 weeks.  It's all about moderation.

At 240 calories per hotdog...I consider it high.  I just never thought they were that bad.  Most do get "D's" and "F's" according to calorie count.

But I'll agree that it's all about moderation.  Congrats on your weight loss!!

Welcome to the journey Solar!  I started in December on the recommendation from my doctor that I lose 10% of my weight to help my ankle.  10% at the time was 38 pounds, and so far I've lost a total of 48.

Granted, I have a LOT more to lose than you do, but just wanted to say that yes, what you are trying to do IS possible.  I'm still going, working on my personal goal of being under 300 for Christmas (30 to go), and wishing you best of luck to get where you are going.

Hi, I am new as well. I would like to lose 40 lbs. It's hard to get started....

Hi!  I'm new, too, (8 days) and I need to lose (according to CC) 51 lbs!     Yikes!  Surprised  I'm just going to focus on 10 lb increments and buy myself a little gift for each 10 lb set.

Good luck with your loss!

Hey there, good luck on your journey. I am 6' 0" and weighed 235 with 24% bodyfat last april after starting weight training the previous november. I started calorie counting and using this site last august and I now weigh 205 with 14% bodyfat. My goal is 200 with 8% body fat.

its been hard work but the results are really worth it. I now eat healthily and feel good.

Write down your goals, get a plan and try to be as consistent as you can with your diet and training.

And also I'd recommend you dont try to change too many things about your life all at once as I think you have more chance of setting yourself up for failure.

good luck!

Thank you for the advice and congratulations on your weight loss so far! Keep it up! My doctor told me the same thing, just try making one change in your life at a time. if not, you may fail and get discouraged and just give it all up.

Thanks again!
