trying to lose the last 15!
a few months ago i waas 166 (my all time heavist) and now im down to 134. Im 19 years old, medium body type, and 5'4 - i was losing 2-3 weeks, but for the past 2 weeks i have been stuck at 134! i recently did start strengh training but i only do it twice a week with leight weights, and the other days i mix it up with yoga, swiming and spinning classes so i dont know why i havent been able to lose weight!!!!! I eat healthy and workout a lot! what do i have to do to lose those last 15 pounds?????
I'm kinda in the same place as you. I'm currently 124 lbs at 5'3 and im 20 yrs old. I'd like to be 115 lbs so i'm getting there :-) only 9 lbs to go. But im having alot of trouble getting there i feel like i hit a plateu im stuck at. I've been fluctuating between 122-124 lbs for over a month.
it would be interesting to hear what others have to say. Other suggestions for this. I guess im in no rush. as long as im at my goal by summer i'm ok.
Also check your BMI and your measurements...I'm 5'3 and a half and my ideal is supposed to be 130-140 per the BMI. Also put your scale in the closet for a bit and just work on health and fitness...your body will tell you what weight it should be based on your fitness.

We're like exactly the same, except I'm 133 lbs and 19 1/2. I've been doing okay but not great. How did you get to where you are currently? Like how many cals and such?
And cherrybomb, I find that with plateaus it helps to eat a bit more for a while. And measure yourself in inches, not with the scale.
hey cherryboom...i'm close to the stats that you started at...and i'm confused at what amount of calories i should start off with,..so i was wondering how many calories you started off eating?
I am in the same place as you guys. I was 181 and finally hit 134. I have been stuck around the same couple pounds for a month. I have been eating healthy and working out 5-6 days a week. My goal is 120 and I feel like I am never going to get there.
Take a Break!! Sometimes your body needs a week or two off to catch up to all of the changes you are making to your lifestyle.
I was eating healthy (about 1300 cal) and excersizing 5-6 days a week and got stuck at 125 lbs for 2 months. I took a month off, from the gym and ate at maintenance calories. When I re-started my diet and gym routine again 10lbs melted off in a month!
Now I am 115lbs, 5'3 and fit :)

Hm, maybe you are right:) We should all take a break and stop thinking about our weight. I am at exaclty the same weight as you guys. I'm 134 and 5'7" and I want to go down to 125 but since 2 months I'm stuck. I lost 20 punds since September'08. I eat about 1200 calories a day and excercise 6 times a week, mostly cardio and crunches for 30 minutes. I check my weight every single day which is crazy, I know:(
And also maybe this is the weight our bodies feel most comfortable in. I have not gained any weight since these 2 months even thought I sometimes eat more that I should during the weekends.
I'm hiding my scale in the closet for now.
oh wow i havent checked this thing in FOREVER! im happy to report that i am down to 120 :) my goal weight! im a waist 27.5 and basically what ive done is workout 4-5 days a week! I do cardio first and then strengh training.
Typically i do 20 min stepmaster, followed by either 10-15 min on the treadmill (but i dont do the treadmill everyday, its more like everyOTHER day)
then i break up my strengh training, for example one day ill do upper body and the next day lower body. THe only day ill do a full body workout is on Saturdays.
At first i was really strict on what i ate, and how much i ate but now i relize that you cant cut everything out, so its okay to splurge one day a week (mine is sundays) im not saying eat everything in site, just dont feel like u killed a baby if you have a cookie or two...but try to keep in mind that this is a lifestyle change, so dont always over eat and always treat yourself! its all about self control and self determination! Hope everyone else is doing great and working hard :)
