I am interested in finding others who have been struggling for a long time with losing the "last 10 lbs". . I've been battling to lose 10 lbs for many years. Actually, I've lost 10 in the last year but I needed to lose 20 a year ago (not just 10).
I run, bike and swim now and have been participating in running 5k's and triathlons. I have firmed up but would like to wear a size 8 comfortably. I may want to go on to a size 6 next.
I think that if I had some friends with the same goals, then I would stay motivated. Maybe we can share ideas and recipes.
Let me know if you are out there and interested.

Ohio: I went to IKEA for the first time after Christmas. We've been remodeling my son's media room and got a lot of ideas there. I too bought some storage bins. What a great place! I'm sad that you gave into the junk. Maybe this is the last "hoopla" since you are leaving tomorrow. Do you think the stress of shopping and having to say good-bye got to you? It probably would affect me- I still trying to identify my triggers. Anyway, have a great trip. My son just called me from Ohio. He said the weather is not any colder than it was in Florida last week. If Ohio wins the game he will be contract printing at a screen printing company in Ohio for our company in Florida.
Tando: I wish we all lived in the same place so we could throw a party for you since you've met goal weight, a low-cal party, of course. I do hope someone is celebrating with you.
Dievans: Those cheddar bisquits get me everytime. I usually can stop at one but it is so hard. I love the lobster pizza also. Yum! Will you participate in a sprint triathlons?
Today I did great for a Sunday. It is usually my hardest day. We went for a 3mi run this morning and I've kept calories around 1600. Usually I don't count on Sunday, so having even a general idea is great. I was up on the scale this morning but I think is was salty food.
Tomorrow, I'll go for a bike ride in the AM, keep calories within 1600 limit and drink plenty of water. I believe it's time to give up my nightly wine for the weekdays. It makes me crave more food than I believe I need.
Have a great evening!

Ohio: You amaze me! What an independent, capable, couragous woman you are to make that drive by yourself, and risking jail, weather etc. You go girl! I also appreciate your commitment to the forum that you would take the time to check in.
Tando: Sometimes when I have trouble finding the forum, I go to the weightloss section and type in "trying to lose 10 lbs forever". It usually works. I used to be able to type in "toniahayes" but for some reason that hasn't been working. And, yes, wouldn't it be nice to one day meet each other. You sound like such a supportive mother. Your daughter is blessed.
Yesterday and today I have kept my goals. Hurray for getting back on the wagon. Life looks so much better from the top of the wagon than from dragging behind, hanging on for dear life. The bike yesterday felt glorious and I enjoyed a run with a friend tonight. I am why under calories for today so I am trying to decide what to have before bed so my sleep won't be disturbed.
I sure am glad to be back in this forum. You ladies are so supportive.
Tomorrow I will go for a bike ride and stay within my 1600 calories.
Have a great eveing everyone.

Hey everyone! I am still alive...I have been studying for midterms and busy with kidstuff and life in general. I am still dealing with the problems at home with hubby but am trying to just take one day at a time. School is my main focus right now, as well as my weight management and of course my kids.
Tando- You are doing great with your goals! Keep up the great work!
Ohio-I am glad you made it home safe and sound. Now you can get back to your routine and life as you knew it before. You will be dropping the extra in no time and right back on track!
I am hanging here at goal. I am trying to stay at around 1300 calories or so a day, sometimes I am up at around 2000. I consider those real bad days, but I need them every once in a while. I have 1500 and 1600 days as well. I haven't been exercising much though, I want to get more of that in. I just really haven't had the time or the ability to do it. I need to somehow fit it in...I am just so pressed for time right now. I am even thinking of picking up a part time job right now. Then I don't know what I would do. Squeeze it in when I can. I just try to move a lot when I can. Use the stairs and stuff like that...
Well that is life here in PA. The weather was beautiful the last couple days, but cooler weather is coming soon. I guess we need to enjoy it while it is here. The problem with this kind of weather though is that I get early spring fever!
Take care! Stay strong! You are worth it!

Stayed within calorie goals today.
This morning I did something interesting. I put on my Heart Rate Monitor and cleaned house for an hour trying to keep myself with in my target heart rate. I burned 350 calories and my house looks great.
I enjoyed an evening bike ride with my husband and burned another 199 calories.
My workouts made up for the cheddar bisquit at Red Lobster. My son and I have a date every Wednesday. That is the one of the easiest times for me to blow it because he orders fries and doesn't eat all of them. Then I feel obligated to become a human garbage disposal. Even with the Red Lobster I've stayed within my calories limits of 1600.
Hope everyone is doing good today. Once again, its looking good from up here on the wagon.

Ohio45: I'd would love to start with an empty refridgerator. Mine is still a disaster from Christmas. I guess that will be my next Heart Rate/Housework work-out.
Ohio: I can't believe there is someone out there, not from the south, that likes collard greens. I love them and grow them in my garden. I don't cook them the way they do in the south, ie murdering them. I sear them in olive oil with fresh garlic. Then I add a little broth and cook until just tender. How do you cook them?
Tando: Thanks for the refridgerator article. I haven't done my grocery list for the week and I plan to purge the refridg for my next "cleaning workout". I subscribe to Runners World also but never go on the site.
Sorry guys, I can't say as I have ever really ate much greens. I have tried to fix them myself, but I had no idea what I was doin being a northerner and all.
I am doing alright here. It is ttom and I am trying to just avoid chocolate and salt. I had one midterm today, whew! Glad it is over; philosophy. It was rough. Tommorrow is Asian cultures and Monday is Understanding Science. I have been busy studying, so sorry I haven't been posting much. I will glad to get past midterms, of course we will just get past that and gear up for finals. We are also just going into spring registration for classes so I need to figure out what I need to take so I can grad in May with my AA. I am also trying to figure out exactly where I am going to go to school next fall. I am trying to pinpoint a major, can you believe I still don't know what I want to do. I am narrowing it down though, and when I know I will let u know.
Well my weight is good, my calories are within limits, my exercise good be better, but I am active...so hoping it equals out. I have been doing some strength training when I can and some circuit training videos as well.
Hope you all have a great day. Good luck and take care!

Stayed within calories so far today. It's 8:42 PM, so it's looking good.
Had a great run this evening. I probably won't get to workout tomorrow since I have a busy day but I am going to try to get up early enough to do the House-Cleaning Workout where I wear my HR Monitor and try to stay within my zone.
Cc: Have you thought of what the think you might like to do? I wish I had the courage to go to college at my age. You are to be comended for all of your hard work.
Ohio: I like the idea of trying to shed 2 lbs per week of holiday weight. I would like to be in the 2 lb per week club :-)
Go to go.
