I am interested in finding others who have been struggling for a long time with losing the "last 10 lbs". . I've been battling to lose 10 lbs for many years. Actually, I've lost 10 in the last year but I needed to lose 20 a year ago (not just 10).
I run, bike and swim now and have been participating in running 5k's and triathlons. I have firmed up but would like to wear a size 8 comfortably. I may want to go on to a size 6 next.
I think that if I had some friends with the same goals, then I would stay motivated. Maybe we can share ideas and recipes.
Let me know if you are out there and interested.

Good morning everyone,
I had a crazy week this week at school. We had parent teacher conferences from 6-9 after teaching all day. This was for 3 out of the 5 days. I tried to run in between school and the start of conferences, but I felt so rushed I didn't get the full benefit. My diet has been very healthy and within 1500 calories. I am adding more yogurt to my diet. I recently read an article that not only is it good for your digestive system. but 3 servings a day can rev your metabolism.
oh no gotta go!

Well just checking in...I am still not exercising much, but I am maintaining. Tando, there definately is something to the cutting back on exercise, my appetite went down after I cut back on exercise. It seems like my metabolism sped up or something. I don't know but it helped. I still try to fit in a little each week but not 5 days of workouts like before. I found it hard to stay under 1500 calories when I was working out like that, and I could never lose the weight either. I never reached goal until I stopped doing that. Now I focus mainly circuit training, strength training, pilates, yoga, stability ball...those types of things. I just want to tighten and tone up.
I also allow myself cheat days almost every week. I don't keep at low calories all week long, I think it slows my metabolism down too much when I do that. This way I give it a kickstart and I get to enjoy myself at the same time.
Well, I have taken a little break this weekend from mid-terms, but now I gotta get back to studying. I have 2 tomorrow. Then I will be done with that.
Di- your schedule sounds crazy like mine. Good for calorie counting tho'
Ohio-Glad you are having fun shopping. Wish I was...You need to stop wirrying about feeding people. That makes losing weight much harder. I pretty much stopped all baking treats here because I couldn't stay out of them. I like to feed people, but need to eat it myself...never a good thing when you are on a mission to lose weight.
Today I just had to have a blizzard from DQ and I did, I got a small one and shared it with my dau...it was yummy...
well, I am gonna go; got stuff to do...
Take care!

The scale was down on Friday but is back up today. I think its close to TToM and I ate too much sodium yesterday.
Cc & Tando: I find it interesting that your weight has gone down with not exercising. Do you think you could have lost some muscle weight? I know what you mean about not craving as much food when you cut back on exercise.
Ohio: Thanks for the recipe.
I did a house cleaning workout this morning and burned 193 calories. Hopefully, I will be able to attend a step aerobics class this evening.
Di: you made me hungry for yogart. I think I'll go eat some now.
Take care.
I eat tons of yogurt! It is a staple in my diet! Just had some a little bit ago actually. Love the Dannon Lite N Fit line!
Tonia-I thought about the muscle and that's why I have been focusing on the strength training lately, pilates, yoga, stability ball and things like that. I have backed off cardio for now. So far so good. I do some when I circuit train, but I do it in intervals. During nicer weather I like to walk and hike though when I can. Its not a routine though.
I cannot find any low carb wraps in our grocery store here, I looked and looked. My hubby went back on Atkins. They have none. I used to eat the ones Ohio was talking about the 70 cal ones. I can't find them. Were they Mission ones?
Think thin! Have a great day!
Only one midterm left!

Ohio-Nice to see the pic, would be nice to see the face too. You look great though! You are back on the road to success, trust me!
I did well on midterms from what I can ascertain and am glad they are behind me, now only about 5 more weeks til finals. Agh!
Anyway...I am trying to eat healthy and snack only on low cal and energy boosting things so as not to drag myself down too much.
Life here in the East is cold and I am already ready for spring thaw. Never can come soon enough for me.
Well I heard I can find those Mission wraps at the Wal-mart super center by me, so I will look there.
Hope everyone is doing well.
I am staying at about 1300 calories. Minimum exercise of course. I would like to fit some type of exercise in tomorrow morning. So that is my goal.
I gotta go read my philosophy book now, talk to you all later.

Welcome Madhul!
First, I am not Tonia, but I will welcome you anyway because I have been here a while now too.
As for procedure I believe you just want to use what Calorie Count has given you as far as the tools section goes. Find out how many calories you should be taking in per day. How much exercise you are getting each day. How many calories each day you need to eat to lose weight. Figure out your goal and start there.
What we do here is mainly or what we did at first, I should say, is post our calorie intake goal for the day and our exercise goal for the day. Sometimes we would assign a punishment to ourselves if we did not meet those goals. Making us try harder next time. Things like "cleaing the bathroom, our "washing the car."
We check in here on a daily basis pretty much to post our gains and losses. We support each other thru our ups and downs. We motivate each other through this very difficult time of losing weight, which is that final last bit of weight that just never seems to want to go away.
Well that is my input. Anyone else have anything they would like to add?
Once again Welcome!

Tando-You'll be fine! Winter is tough and the cold weather is a drag. Spring will make your motivation go up and the weight go down! Wow! About the hair! I don't know if I could ever do it...
Ohio- Good job getting back on track. Knew you could. Don't you feel better. I have been on CC since the end of July of 2007. By the way I found the mission wraps for my Hubby. Thanks guys.
Madhul- How are you doing?
Well my weight is good. I am maintaining still. Even went out to Perkin's yesterday with dau for burger and fries. I didn't eat all of the burger, it was too much, and I couldn't eat nearly that many fries. I rarely ever eat food like that. I mainly eat stir fried veggies, frozen dinners like LC, SO, HC. fish, chicken breast, soup, so that is a lot for me. It was one of those meals to shake up my caloric intake. It seems to be working so far. I do it about once a week.
I can't say that my system would work for everyone, but it is working for me and I am sticking with what works for now. I went shopping the other day and I bought the smallest size jeans I EVER bought, it was great!
Just know it can be done. Numbers here aren't important for me...I know you all can be successful and you have it in you. The hardest part. I can swear is that even when you do get down to the size you always wanted to be, you still aren't the happy person you expected to be. Now I am trying to start working on the inside me...
