Trying to lose 10 lbs. forever club
I run, bike and swim now and have been participating in running 5k's and triathlons. I have firmed up but would like to wear a size 8 comfortably. I may want to go on to a size 6 next.
I think that if I had some friends with the same goals, then I would stay motivated. Maybe we can share ideas and recipes.
Let me know if you are out there and interested.

I had a horrible weekend (eating wise) I have eaten everything I wanted. I have been trying to log everything and was horrified at my calorie count for yesterday. 4000+. I went to a family reunion. I went to an amusement park the day before and I logged about 2800 that day. So I know I will be adding a few lbs. I did not exercise yesterday or the day before it. Now I will be hungry all day. Plus my carb cravings will probably be thru the roof from the sugary treats I ate.
I have put on a few lbs over the last week and hope to be able to drop those by next weekend. I imagine at least one is water weight.
I am going to get going, I don't know if I will be able to get any exercise in today or not. I chose to sleep instead of get up early and workout. It is Sunday...I need to rest sometimes too! I don't get nearly enough of that.
Have a wonderful day! Good luck to you!
I am getting back on track. Yesterday I went over calories so I took my pup for a long walk and ended up with a deficit.
Now I just need to survive Fourth of July weekend. I'll be back down the shore and we're invited to a cookout. That means more unfriendly diet food. I'm considering bringing a vegetable dish. I found a recipe for a zucchini and tomato salad which I thought I could easily fill up on. hmmm
Beautiful day today - sun shining, hot but what the heck, it is summer! My daughter wants me to run with her this morning so I'm just waiting for her to wake up - aaah - the lazy hazy days of summer! I hope she starts stirring soon as the later it gets the hotter it gets :)
Enjoy! Hope you are all sticking to your diets and finding lots of things to smile about! ttyl
I wish I could have some self control...I am always telling my girls what they can and can't eat. I need a mother to tell me what to eat and not to. I know but choose to do it anyway...it really is an addiction. It is the only one I have but in some ways it is the worst one. I know this yo-yo dieting cannot be good for my health either. Ohio you just may have the right idea...throw it all out the window! The pressure I put on myself is just too much at times. I do it in all aspects of my life and dieting is just one more stressor.
I hope you guys have a happy 4th! Ohio-you should find a local celebration and just go by yourself to get out of the house and walk around. We have festivals here that go on...don't know if you do. And you definately need to go see some fireworks, you never know you just might me "someone" at these events. Mr. Right can't find you at home...you need to be out and about to be found!
I am going to a picnic at my friends tomorrow. Coincidently it is the one that invited me to the challenge...So I don't know why she is having a picnic...it is just more temptation. I am praying I can keep things under control. Good luck to you guys!
Hi ALL, I just came across this thread and it seems I am in the same boat with all of you! I have been struggling with this 10 pounds it seems like forever...uggh. I have been diligent with my eating and my workouts... I even worked with a personal trainer for a while..(gift from my hubby)...I do see a difference in my tone since starting weight training but I am still the same weight and size...so frustrating!!!! Last night I was bad..I was disgusted..fed up and craving all kinds of junk! I gave in ..I had wine and snickers and even later I ate a spicy chicken go wrap from wendys! I hate myself today but also feel as if I needed that breakdown before heading into the holiday weekend where I will be even more tempted to eat junk. We are going away to Philly for the weekend so wish me luck..I can hear the philly cheesesteak calling :0) I am such a junk food junky..its terrible. So being new here what is the plan to get this weight off once and for all. I read to lower calorie intake and lay off exercise..has anyone done that and it worked? Please let me know...this thread is a great idea! Lisa
BTW.. 5'4"- 126 today GW- 118
PersonalTraining- Welcome to our message board! We would love to have you and try to help. It isn't easy to lose this last 10 lbs. It is a daily fight. Stay strong. Generally we try to state our goals of exercise and calorie intake daily. We share our daily struggles here as well. Please join us!
Well the picnic I went to did not have any healthy foods except for fresh fruit and I ate a ton of it to avoid eating chocolate cake, pie, and brownies. I managed but of course the hostess sent desserts home with us for my hubby. I ate cake when I got home with light vanilla ice cream. But we played a lot of volleyball at the picnic so I am hoping it cancelled out the cake.
I have decided to take a break from calorie counting for a while...I think this may be contributing to binges. I don't know for sure but think it is worth a try. I plan to eat healthy, exercise, and watch my weight. I plan to go off how my clothes feel for a while as a guide. I have been faithful to counting calories but it hasn't made any difference in what I eat...so I need to change things up a bit and see what happens. I thought it would keep me accountable...but it doesn't really. We shall see. If I start gaining quicker...than I'll know I was wrong.
I will continue to post here as I think we are a great support for each other. I hope you guys had a great 4th and that you didn't overdo things too much.
Smile! Have a great day!
Good morning all! Hope everyone had a great weekend..despite the weather. As you know I am new to this thread and I have been asked for my stats..so here goes. I am 36 year old mom of three boys..I am 5'4" tall I am weighing in at 126 pounds after a 6 pound loss in 2 months. My GW is 118 so 8 pounds to go. My workouts usually consist of an hour at the gym..be it 30 minutes of cardio 30 minutes weight training or just an hour of cardio 5-6 days a week . My cardio is usually running on the treadmill at 6mph doing the occasional 7 mph sprint for as long as I can and mixing in some walking at 4mph with an incline. I always like to challenge myself, I can get bored very easily with a workout. Mondays are my class at the gym total body tone for 1 hour to get back on track from my weekends where I usually let myself have higher caloric intake than weekdays and take off from the gym on at least one day for rest. My calorie range on a weekday is 1400-1500 per day and on the weekends usually bumps up to about 1700-1800 give or take..I like to shift my calories on certain days too so my body doesn't get used to my intake . Anyway glad to be here and keep up the great work!
P.S. anyone else have a bad weekend calorie wise..I really was bad ..drinking and eating WAY over my range..I was up to 3000 calories yesterday when I stopped logging :0(
I exercised this morning...but the scale is up to 126 and now I am 11 lbs away from goal. I keep going in the wrong direction. Ugh!
Tando- I have journaled some at times...maybe I should try to do some more of it. Thanks for the idea.
Take care!
Hi everyone, I posted another thread because I have an event coming up and want to slim down quick..well in my responses I am finding that my activity level set at sedentary and adding my exercise was more than if I just had it set at moderate...it also said my recommended calorie intake should be 1300 and I have been eating about 1500..so maybe my weight loss hault is because I am eating too much:0(...I wanted to eat more at 1500. I went well over my calories this weekend..no exercise and about 3000 calories both saturday and sunday and friday was about 2500...I got on the scale this morning to find I dropped two pounds..yesterday I had 1300 calories and today I am at 1175 and I am going to have a snack to bring me up to about 1300...I am so confused???!!! Anyone else experience something like this? My exercise today was Billy Blanks tae-bo-50 minutes. CW-124 GW-118.
It's good to see you two are still keeping this thread going.
Have a great day!
