I want to lose about 12 pounds. I'm currently 127 pounds. I'm a 19 year old woman who is 5'3.
My maintenence calories are about 1650-1750, depending on which calculator I use. I consider myself to be light-moderately active, though, because this is my exercise routine:
- 2 days a week I run for about 40 minutes, whether it be on the elliptical or the track
- I do a workout DVD on 3 non-consecutive days. There's a 20 minute interval session, along with 4 10-minute strength training sessions.
I haven't reduced my calories yet, though, so I'm not losing weight. However, if I reduce my calories, will I lose weight with this exercise routine? How much should I reduce my calories to? I was going to average out between the "Lightly Active" and "Moderately Active" amount and subtract 500 from there.
By the way, this is the main calculator that I use: http://www.bcm.edu/cnrc/bodycomp/bmiz2.html
I really want to lose weight the healthy way!!!
Ya definitely, as long as you're eating balanced healthy meals, with small snacks in between.
You go girl!! ![]()
