Trying to trim waist?

Quote  |  Reply

Im looking for exercises I can do at home to help trim my waist. I run about 2 miles almost every day and some form of strength training. I think most of my weight (and reason why my old skinnier jeans dont fit) are because of my waist. Thanks for your help!

They sell bands you wear around your midsection to make you sweat more there when you exercise.  I'm sure this is just to lose water weight and probably doesn't work for trimming the midsection (although it claims it does).  Just a thought.

I have lost 12.5 inches from my waist sice New Years. I do an extensive core workout I made up (with the help of b/f). Mostly crunches, reverse crunches, planks, etc...just the good old reliable exercises. Starting to see some definition now, too. Good luck!

My friend recommended the Ab Ripper p90x workout for my abs at home. It's about 16min and you don't have to do it everyday. My stomach is starting to flatten out nicely and i've only done it 3 times (but that's with cardio, weight training and dieting too of course). It's really intense, I still can't do all the reps along with the video...after 16 minutes your supposed to have done 349 "core ab" exercises, which is a LOT! I use to just do sit ups and could only do around 50 on my own before i got bored or tired. Now I just follow along and the workout is done before you know it!

You can not spot reduce fat, all the 'core exercises' in the world will not cause your fat loss to be targeted at your stomach.

Fork put-downs and table push-aways, followed by squats, deadlifts, presses, pullups and rows.

Did you give birth sometime in January?  Otherwise, I can't fathom that it's possible to lose 12.5 inches from any one body part in only one month.  (I was darn happy with 6 inches in six months.)

I was wondering about that too.

Core, core, core.  There are tons of exercises you can do without spending a dime on any kind of device.  Crunches & leg lifts.  Ouch.  You can get strong in your core very quickly.  Good luck!!

Haha. Sorry my bad on that one. 12.5 inches total. Waist, pouch, hips and butt. I wasn't thinking when I just put waist. Still good in my oppinion though. Again sorry for the confusion.  3 total inches were from the mesured area of my belly button since Sept. 08. Does that sound a bit more reasonable?
