That tummy dent! What is it from? Can I get rid of it?

I have had this "tummy dent" for longer than I can remember, even when I was very thin. Does anyone else have this? Or have you had it?
What I want to know is where does it come from and will I ever be able to get rid of it?

Please try sending the link again. I think I also suffer from tummy dent...
It's probably where your body has decided to store fat, in one band just around our belly button. I find it weird that our body stores fat in bands/rolls on the midsection area as opposed to just a flat spread...if that makes sense lol.
I fixed the link...I didn't realize the forums don't show pictures. Sorry!
I hate ab workouts, too! They're just a necessary evil if I want to get rid of that tummy dent, though. So I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one... I wonder if it's possible that the dent was created by my pants waist. That's my husband's theory, but I'm skeptical because I've always worn my pants a little higher than the dent.
Our silly bodies and where they decide to store fat....always an enigma. I think I'd be so much better proportioned if I was "fattened" in a flat spread! Anyways, a few months and I (hopefully) won't have to worry about it :)
I've wondered the same thing for years!
Me too! :[
Ab workouts? I'll try the m I guess!
BELLY FAT! It REALLY Sucks! I am fortunate in the respect that I have not had a weight issue I am on CC to keep track of nutritional habits because I am working towards becoming a Personal Trainer and I feel it is important to be an example to my clients.
One thing I DO know about though is Belly Fat.
I have always wanted one of those beautiful hard midsections with just enough muscle to say Wow but not so much it looks masculine..you know the Gisele Bunchen belly.
You can do sit ups and Ab exercises all day and you will never see those abs of yours because of belly fat.
Recently I was doing some research and found this diet (it is more of a diet concept really), but it is designed to help you lose the dreaded belly fat which has been proven to cause several Health problems as well as your dreaded tummy dent!
I have never seen my ab muscles even though I have a flat stomach and work my abs all of the time because of the fat stored in that area of my body.
So I decided to try eating the recommended foods used in the Abs plan to see if it really worked. Though I am not following their "diet" I am simply eating the foods listed whenever and however I want to eat them and incorporating those foods along with some new abdominal exercises into my existing daily routine.
I have been doing this for 2 months now and you know what...I have abs! I am so excited because I have never seen them! The results were quicker than I had thought.
I highly recommend this article. I have started some of my friends who I am training on this plan and they have had wonderful results too.
Maybe this would help you with your tummy dent. I know once I receive my certification I will be recommending this to my clients.
FYI this is from Men's Health Magazine but it has a plan for women if you actually wanted to follow their plan. Just Look for the Abs diet for Women link.

If you cannot click on the link above, copy and paste it into your web browser. Be sure to include the last four underscores.Eh I don't really think it has anything to do with pants, just genetics. Those of us who store fat in our upper/middle bodies just have it, For me, when I was thinner it was FAR less noticeable, so I think it should almost totally go away as you reach your goal and tone up.
Curse you, genetics!!!!

I recommend Dr Oz's You on a Diet book. It will tell you what to do about this fat. Anyone who gets fat enough will have this, but if you are not all that overweight and still have this, it is a sign that you have inflammation processes going on in your body.
The prescription is a combo of...
1) Diet: standard advice - fruits & veggies, whole grains, no refined carbs or processed foods,no trans-fats and reduced saturated fats.... but including a focus on increasing omega 3 fats, which are anti-inflammatory. A fat-free diet is NOT the answer! Dr Oz even "prescribes" a handful of walnuts each and every day.
2) Exercise: cardio such as walking every day directly attacks visceral fat
3) Reduce stress: which produces cortisol which encourages inflammation
4) Get good sleep: lack of sleep produces cortisol
5) Limit alcohol

Figure out what type of eater you are and you might just find the answer to permanent weight loss.
Take the Diet Profile Test and learn to avoid the pitfalls and self-sabotage that often come with your personal profile.
