I have gone from 235 to 205 in the past 5 months. I am nearly 6 feet tall. I look and feel much better. I would like to tighten my tummy a little -- I can still grab the fat. After researching past forums here, I gather that leg lifts are the best remedy? At age 55, I don't expect miracles, but it would be nice to get rid of a bit of the stomach fat. I now do combination run-walk 4-5 miles 5-6 days a week and try to squeeze in some weight training every third night -- only about a half-hour or a little more. If leg lifts (or crunches) are a good idea, should they be done before bedtime at night? Or the morning?
Gratz on your weight loss so far.
The problem with all fat, is you cant target it to lose it. I am about 6 feet tall as well, and ive gone from about 230-192 so far. Im liking it so far, but to me it seems the weight will not peel off my stomach. Ive done alot of research on it as well since it bothers me to have a stomach :P. Stomach fat is one of the last places to show a loss when it comes to weight loss. Ab exercises help build muscle in your stomach region, but the fat burn of the exercise and the growing muscle doesn't target your stomach fat. Stick with your diet/exercise plan and you will see results. Its jsut too bad the stomach fat doesn't go away faster.
the abs are my main target also. I started cc back in February. I work out at curves 3 to 4 times a week and I do ab work outs at home. I find the best time for me is between 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm. If I do them any later then I have a hard time sleeping. I tried working out first thing in the morning, and that didn't work. I just didn't have the energy for it. I am not sure how, but I have managed to get rid of a lot of tummy fat. To be honest, I looked like I was 9 months pregnant when I started. I started with size 18 jeans. I am now down to a size 14. I have pictures in my gallery from when I started and 2 months later ( February and April). I am going to post new pics soon. Keep trying and keep motivated. I find what kept me motivated was taking a before picture and then the next one 2 months later. I has been two months again so I need to take new pictures.
