Right, firstly i know that there is no miracle that will cause me to lose weight from my tummy...but i've been looking back at pics..and even when i've lost weight i still have a protruding tummy. my legs are slim...and then there is just this tummy sticking out. i've lost a significant amount of weight again...but persist on having a tummy...whilst i still ned to lose more weight i was wondering whether this bloating/enlarged tummy could be to do with a food intolerance?
Do you exercise at all? Combine the proper nutrition with exercise. Strength training will do wonders for you. Exercise the whole body.
bad posture can also contribute tot he problem, stretch your hip flexors and do hip and ankle mobility drills.
yes...at the minute i've got back into cycling. and i love the bodytrecker (ski machine) because it works out my whole body. so today for example i did 20 mins in the body trecker and went for a 40 minute cycle over a hilly track.
Try adding in some crunches and v-ups.
A stomach that sticks out has more to do with your core strength. Does it go away when you tighten your abs? Your core muscles are what stabilize you, and is basically like a corset wrapping around your entire mid section. When you strengthen the core, the corset tightens and flattens everything out more. Research online some good core exercises (this does NOT include regular crunches/sit-ups) and make sure you include both abs and back workouts. This should help with both posture and flattening your tummy out more.
I have a very similar problem. I mainly carry any extra weight in my stomach, but I have noticed some things seem to make my stomach a little flatter. If you don't walk, then try walking. If you already walk, step it up to running. If you already run, try some Ab workout DVDs. i've recently purchased and done 1 weeks worth of Turbo jam dvds and I can really feel it using muscles that I thought were already being worked on. It really made me feel like I hadn't been doing any kind of real exercise
It could just be your shape, but I definitely agree with everyone who said add in some exercises that strengthen your core. That plus continued diet could make a big difference.
I have the same problem! Even at my lowest weight I had a tummy problem. Over the past week I have taken high salt foods and carbonated drinks out of my diet completley (no processed or packaged things, diet pop etc) plus I'm drinking a bit more water..I kid you not, I dropped 3 pounds in 3 days and my stomach is slowley going down. I'm also using "leg magic" which has been great for tightening up my core.
