You can tune a piano...
So I bought a can of tuna. This is not remarkable for most, but I'm pretty sure I've never bought one for myself before. Probably because I don't know what to do with it. The nutrition facts on the back indicate a lot of "bang for my calorie buck" in terms of being both low-cal and high in protein. Also, I made sure to get packed in water, not oil. Now there's the question of what to make with it. I have never cared for mayo, and it's really pretty unhealthy anyway, and cutting mayo cuts a lot of common tuna dishes from the options. So I was wondering... What's your favorite low-cal tuna recipe?
You should search Tuna in the forums. Pretty sure there are at least two threads all about different things to do with Tuna.

Personally...I throw some dijon mustard and banana peppers in there and either eat it plain or put it in a whole wheat wrap with spinach.
For the longest time, I thought I was allergic to shellfish and so avoided seafood entirely. Turns out, I'm not!
I will probably never acquire the taste for shellfish, but I worked my way up to loving a few kinds of fish.
One of my favorite recipies for tuna: http://caloriecount.about.com/tuna-nuna-recip e-r244835
Sometimes I just put a little black pepper on it and eat it right out of the can, with wheat/stonemeal crackers.
I often just make up a spinach salad (baby spinach, tomatos, red peppers, some low-cal dressing), and throw a can of tuna on top of that. I've also made a kidney bean tuna salad that's quite good (1 can kidney beans, drained, 2 cans tuna, drained, some lemon juice, some olive oil, some green onion... Think that was it).

I like Salade Nicoise
It's an arranged salad with romaine, tomato & hard boiled egg wedges, steamed green beans, tuna and a few olives, dressed with a simple olive oil vinaigrette. It's pretty and nice to serve to guests, but you can make a single serving too.
tuna pasta bake! use lots of veges (i just use frozen) and a little bit of pasta and lots of tuna, sprinkle a little cheese on top. Throw some sauce on that baby and stick it in the oven.
TUNA MELT!!
There are two routes for a tuna melt.
1. Put tuna on a slice of bread. I have found that one can fills two slices. Place a slice of cheese on top (any cheese works, cheddar is best). Nuke in microwave for 60 seconds or until cheese is suffieciently melted for your tastes. Eat with fork and knife.
AND
2. Mix tuna with chopped onions and/or scallions and pickle relish. Either mix in 1 oz of shredded cheese or rip up a slice of cheese and mix in. Nuke in microwave for 60 seconds. Mix melted cheese into tuna mixture. Eat alone, on bread, on a bed of lettuce or in a wrap.
In the second route you should add something that is slightly runny (relish, salsa, chopped tomato, ketchup, salad dressing) so that the mixture won't by so dry. The onions give it a bite.
I had the second version for lunch yesterday with onions, scallions and sweet relish, and low fat swiss cheese (whole can of tuna). That together was only about 250 cal. I had half in a wheat wrap and half on a few leaves of iceberg lettuce. I added tomato as garnish. Whole thing? 350 cal
I am mostly veg, but I love tuna! My favorite is a sundried tomato wrap filled with tuna, tomato, lettuce and cheese.
try it inside a scooped everything bagel with a slice of soy cheese.
I love to mix tuna and salsa and eat it with tortilla chips
A niscoise salad is nice too: scoop of tuna, olives, capers, hard boiled eggs, tomato, and a light vinegarette over greens.
My boyfriend's mother used to make tuna patties instead of crab/salmon cakes. There are plenty of online recipies- stuff them into a whole wheat pita with chopped lettuce, roasted peppers and cucumbers...woah! and if you want to be creative, try some tahini or cucumber sauce on top.
When all else fails, go the Jessica Simpson route and eat it out of the can with a splash of lemon juice and black pepper. This travels well!
Welcome to the world of canned tuna!
