So.... I have a turnip. Yes, just one; long story. What on earth can I do with it if I don't have the time/material to make soup or boil it in a crock pot? (I know this is an odd request, but I'm hoping there's something.) I could just eat it raw, but I've never had one before to know if I like it, or how to cut it up, etc.

Thanks so much!

You can make mock hash-browns. Just dice it like a potato, and then saute it in a skillet with some olive oil, and maybe some chili powder or seasoning salt. Serve with eggs! You might want to either dice the turnip very finely or steam the pieces in the microwave quickly to help the saute process along.

I had mock hash browns with sweet potatoes for breakfast today - yummy!

You could also cut it up in small pieces (like 1/4 inch) and throw some curry powder on it and roast it in the oven for 20 minutes.

you could slice them thinly and either fry them or bake them and make chips! i had some today they were goood

mash it with mashed potatoes. You could mash it by itsself, but some turnips are stronger flavoured than others so you might prefer them mixed with potatoes.
