TV Shows to Avoid When you're trying to control your diet
As a fun thread...any TV shows that stand out in your mind as always featuring people eating?
I've been watching The Sopranos and Tony's eating a big plate of spaghetti at least once/episode...often more frequently!
Pretty much anything on Food Network :)

Second that! I love watching Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and they always show the most wonderful looking foods on there but you just KNOW they are a million calories each. My wife hates it when I watch that show!
Yep! The episode where he was in Philly, in particular, did me in. Cheesesteaks, anyone? :)
I love watching Man v. Food. ![]()
I'd say avoid paula deen like the plague and that show with the blonde guy that's slightly overweight and he looks quite young,I think its the same host as diners, drive ins, and dives but its a show where he cooks. Well that one is pretty bad..haha

Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations. The guy goes to Mexico City, eats like 12 tacos, masa tortillas, carnitas, huge plates of barbacoa, pitchers of beer, tons of tequila, and some insanely delicious looking fried yucca. I am so damn jealous.
True Blood? LOLOL!
Though I guess they are eating really lo-cal.
Maybe most people would actually lose their appetite and should seek out the show.
First thing that popped into my mind was Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
My mouth actually salivates when I watch that show.
i second anthony bourdain!! i dont have cable anymore but made the mistake of watching an episode on netflix the other day....and quickly deleted it from my Instant Queue!!!
Gilmore Girls....they're always eating junk food on their own or getting delicious diner food at Luke's; plus there are the extravagant Friday Night Dinners
ammendment: Plus they insist on never eating vegetables or fruit....the only time a fruit made it to a mouth it was when Lorelai had a pregnancy scare
Masterchef
I don't avoid any food shows i actually like watching them more whilst dieting.
I live in Australia and our shows differ from yours, but I'd say it's not so much the programs for me, but the ads. I love KFC popcorn chicken and it seems to be on every freakin ad!

Thirded. The Shanghai episode where he eats the giant soup dumpling actually makes me drool.
You know, I read a study somewhere that showed that showing people highly desirable food made them remember their weight goals, and they were actually less likely to go and eat it. The only problem was that with only moderately desirable foods, it didn't work. People just got hungry. So I guess make sure you only watch shows about things you find extremely delicious?
I have to say my favorite show is...Top Chef!!! even though I'm dieting!! Oh and Iron Chef America! And I have to say Throwdown with Bobby Flay! but have any of you checked out Food Network's new show? Best Thing I Ever Ate!!! OMG!!!!

Figure out what type of eater you are and you might just find the answer to permanent weight loss.
Take the Diet Profile Test and learn to avoid the pitfalls and self-sabotage that often come with your personal profile.
